  • Rob just couldn't get out of his own way. He had a lot of talent and showed signs of greatness but was stubborn about holding the ball instead of throwing it away. He's similar to Aaron Rodgers but never could put it all together the way he did. Took too many hits/sacks and was always injured.

  • The shame of it all is that Flutie could have rally helped Johnson become a great NFL QB. Johnson took tons of sacks - not in the pocket, but on prolonged rollouts. Flutie's strength was throwing outside the pocket. Had the two been interested in cooperating and not competing AGAINST each other, they could both be wearing Super Bowl rings as Bills.

  • Flutie was better, but to blame the Titans game on Johnson is unfair. It was the Special Teams' fault.

  • great talent, but held onto the ball to long...

  • Rob Johnson your the Man! miss you bro i remember playing catch with you outside my Aunts house when i was a kid you were a great Quarterback and its funny how people say otherwise......I wonder where there Super Bowl rings are??? ha if u c this hope all is well with you and your family.

  • Dude was a bum plain and simple had the build of a QB but had as much brains as a rock. Just like Losman didnt know when to get rid of the ball made all the wrong decisions and couldnt lead a pack of 3yr olds

  • Rob Johnson sucked shit. All he ever did was take sacks and get injured. He kept missing games with pulled vagina muscles. How come he could never figure out he should throw the football before 300 pound men drive him into the ground? I heard he had a football camp. That is a joke. Does he teach kids how to be lousy quarterbacks?

  • @Jefgg He actually helps coach at a high school...btw he has a super bowl ring....Do you have 1? cause "Rob Johnson" does do you? i mean u must have since you know football so well.

  • @1BlkRose1 I forgot Rob Johnson has a Super Bowl ring. He got it for holding a clipboard for the Buccaneers. That is what he is good at.

  • @Jefgg Rob saw playing time in the Divisional Playoffs in 2002 and won almost every game he started that season, including the first-even victory for Tampa in sub-40-degree weather. He very much contributed to that championship season...

  • @csquaredremixz Good points. I have nothing personal against Rob Johnson. I just didn't think he was a very good quarterback mostly because of his serious lack of durability and propensity to take sacks. I didn't realize he had so many relatives who are regulars on youtube.

  • @Jefgg Not relatives so much as rational people... we all know what Johnson's shortcomings were, but there's no reason to add in made-up things. Johnson is proof that sacks should be included in the QB rating formula for sure!

  • @Jefgg He coached Carson Palmer and Mark Sanchez among many other NFL QB's. What have you ever done? Accidentally held the "g" key down too long when you made your user name?

  • U mad sweetheart? The funny thing is, I can post a few things online in occasional spurts every few months and you remember it all, but damned if I know who YOU are...

    SB Rings for Flutes: 0

    SB Rings for Johnson: 1

And no amount of "I don't like J-Rob" will ever change that, loser :)

  • When I saw this video I though it was going to a video of him getting hurt or surfing or something. Rob Johnson was a bum. I didnt like him at all when he said that he didnt like chicken wings because they put too much fat into his body. Yeah that comment might have flown over in a lot of cities, but def not in Buffalo. The Bills played with a decent amount of talent and lots of guts and determination in the late 1990s; they took on the personality of Flutie, because they knew he was a winner

  • Who cares about Johnson not liking chicken wings?

  • well, its the equivalent of someone going to boston and saying, you know i just hate clam chowder or someone going to philly and going you know what i just hate philly cheese steaks, its just the wrong thing to say when u insult one of wny's greatest inventions before u even win a game.

  • He was just being honest about his opinion. More Americans can improve their life if they ate healthy. Instaed of putting garbage in their body.

  • This is part of why I was a fan of his that people in the B-Lo don't get - this guy EMBODIED the way I wanted to be as a kid. Nobody talks about what a beat J-Rob was and still is in the weight room... I'm old enough now to work out pretty hard and control my own diet and I respect someone who does the same, and who doesn't need to pander to rotund Buffalonians ;)

  • I agree.

  • sir sacked alot....

  • johnson looked like the ultimate professional quarterback...the only problem was he could not play like one. meanwhile, Flutie, all 5'9 of him, did more with his god given talent than just about anyone who ever played.

  • I love your videos but Rob Johnson Sucked and Doug Flutie should had gotten that starting postion at QB

  • I see pork is a dumb ass it's a team sports Kelly was a great even before he was a buffalo bills !.

  • I cannot BELIEVE I am reding comments about how good Johnson was, and better than Kelly. Are you kidding? He should be compared to Losman, and even thats a stretch. This video is a joke

  • Don't ask questions.

  • rob johnson was very very talented, the problem was he had no oline....

  • ok. doug flutie had the same o-line too and doug fluite still produced and helped us win games and had us reached the playoff's twice. I think the problem for Rob Johnson was he kept the ball for too long and thats why he got sacked. Johnson also got injured alot. But i must say when Johnson is on, He was a great QB

  • is this video a joke , not trying to be mean but Rob Johnson ? yes he had a good game against Tennessee.but Rob Johnson ? i`m confused .

  • Is it just me or does Rob Johnson remind me of another former QB.. better known as JP Losman.

  • Oh, I also happen to have $10,000+ worth of Rob Johnson cards and memorabilia, which is another small reason why I support him still haha... on my wall is the home jersey he wore for Buffalo in the 2000 season :)

  • are you serious about rob johnson? I never heard of him until he came to buffalo..to me it seemed as if everytime he dropped back to pass he dropped back with his eyes shut!! and yes Jim Kelly has alot of talent around him but I believe that Andre and Thurman were still there when Rob Johnson took over..and those guys were Kelly's biggest playmakers..sooo..hmm I dont know about Rob Johnson

  • If Rob Johnson was around during the Bills 4 Super Bowl runs they would have won at least 2. Jim Kelly was so overrated. It was the talent around him that made Jim so good. However with Rob, you are adding another athletic play-maker. Its really a shame that a career like Rob's was damaged so much due to the talentless slop around him.

  • O.K talentless slop? Eric Molds? Andre Reed?

Johnson got hurt so many times and got sacked to many times

  • Flutie started in the playoff game in 1998 and lost to Miami. So what makes people believe if Flutie had started against the titans the bills would have won???

  • When Buffalo had Flutie in the game they won. When Buffalo had Johnson in they lost or won by a point or two. '98 season the bills were 0-3 and Johnson got hurt, and when Flutie came into the game he scored two touchdowns and won. that year he was 8-3 as a starter. for '99 he led the bills to 10-5 record and put Johsnon in the Starting postion. '00 season as Flutie as starter 4-1, Johsnon 4-7 after Flutie left in '01 the bills were 3-13. O.K Flutie didn't win no play-off games, what about Rob?

  • Rob won a playoff game in 2002 vs Philly... he replaced an injured Brad Johnson and led the team to victory en route to a Super Bowl Title.

Flutie has a VERY talented San Diego team in 2002 and held them back... he was NEVER the player anyone claims he was, he accomplished very little in the NFL...

  • Flutie helped the Bills to the Playoff's in '98 and '99. He led them there, what did Johnson do in the start of the '98 season? He had a record of 1-3 before getting injured, Flutie came in and led the Bills to an 10-6 record. '99 Flutie led the Bills to a 11-5 record. '00 Johnson was the "starter"(even though he was always injured) Johnsons record 4-7, Flutie's record 4-1. When Flutie left in '01, Johnson had the record of 3-13(Check that, he was injured for most of the season)

  • Right, nobody is denying that, those are facts... but what is ALSO fact is that, despite two decades of playing pro football, Flutie never won a single NFL playoff game... ever.

He's not even the best QB to leave the CFL for the NFL in the late 90's, but gets hype for personifying the city of Buffalo, right down to the inability to accomplish anything ;)

  • Your right, He is not the greatest QB in the 90's. But Flutie helped the team won and to the Playoff's.

Talking about Playoff's Flutie was in the Playoff's once in '98, In which Buffalo got fucked by the Ref's in Miami.

What about Johnson? Did he lead a team to the playoff's

  • Whatever. I wasn't one of those fans who cheered when Rob "id rather be surfing" Johnson but I could understand. He just couldn't win. The team didn't play hard for him bc they knew he just wasn's a winner. I don't care what he did at USC; and that goes for any qb. I don't care if he won 4 national titles, threw for a billion passing yards, he didnt do jack in the NFL. The fact that he somehow won a ring just proves that there is absolutely no justice in this world.

  • Well, he came off the bench, took the Bills to the playoffs, where Rob Johnson lost his first game back. He did something. He made plays when there were none to be made.

Nobody has to pick one of the other now. They played their best, and they're both better than the current Buffalo QBs.

  • @Mollari23

Rob Johnson put the Bills AHEAD of the Titans with one of his shoes off and his sock dangling around in the torn up turf. A stupid squib kick followed by idiotic coverage lost us that game.

Flutie Flakes seem to always forget this.

  • And at least Flutie led a team to the Play-offs. Oh yeah Flutie was in the NFL for like 7 years and he spent rest of his career in CFL.

  • Flutie's career peaked before he was even drafted. Plus I skimmed the Flutie Flakes box, and as I understand it, the cereal causes autism... that is completely unacceptable.

  • Rob gave the titans 9 points in that game. First the fumble which cost the bills a safety which he was sacked in the end zone i dont think that would of happened to flutie because he was more elusive and when the bills punted the ball due to the safety titans scored a touch down same drive!

How many times did rob get sakced that game like 6 times. He was awful. The follow year flutie went 4-1 what did rob go like 4-7?

  • @m8570131

While Flutie won games during the regular season, he's got 0 wins in the playoffs. This fact seems to be eluding the Flutie Flakes.

  • haha I specified his NFL career because that's what matters... the CFL is a league for NFL rejects and college is just that - college. I didn't say he's too short or too slow, I said his impact on the NFL is insignificant. I've bene arguing this for a decade and I've already heard all the flawed logic you just used. Kelly got us to 4 Super Bowls. Jack Kemp won us AFL Titles. What did Flutie do? Sell some jerseys and cereal? Refute that by staying on topic or just return to jocking the midget...

  • what did flutie do lol. did he even get a chance? People say he won 0 playoff games for the bills. He only played in one playoff game with the bills agains tthe dolphins and the following playoffs he got benched.

How many opportunities did he get?

  • Right, and Flutie used all that prowess to... oh, accomplish nothing. Zero playoff wins in his CAREER. He's a sideshow at best.

  • Did Flutie EVER win a playoff game? No. Did Flutie get SD to the playoffs? No, he fumbled a SPIKE and cost his team the playoffs... by far the most overhyped player in NFL history, he never accomplished one significant thing in his career. His most famous NFL play is an EXTRA POINT. That should say it all. This doesn't make Rob Johnson a good player now, but Flutie accomplished NOTHING significant in his entire NFL career. Prove me wrong.

  • Rob Johnson is THE MAN. I met him and he's SO nice; Flutie on the other hand is a sanctimonious jackass. Really, DOUG FLUTIE was better? Name one significant thing he did in his entire NFL career? Nothing. He is 0-1 in the playoffs in a career spanning five different teams. He choked in literall EVERY important game in his NFL career. He divided the team with his childish complaining and inherently failed in his task to mentor Rob Johnson to be the future of the team.

  • uhhh i was kidding, haha i cant believe you took me seriously.

  • Yes, and lets not forget the close win he had against Tennessee in the 99 playoffs. if his special teams would have tackled someone they'd win the superbowl, easy.

  • @johnmxg12 if the bills somehow got past the colts which i could see then the lose to either the 14-2 jaguars whose only losses where to the titans. if jaguars won if buffalo in 96 they win at home in 99. Anything could happen and they could have one the superbowl. But Easy? lmao

  • @mylest100 The Bills would have played Jacksonville in the second round based on their #6 seed. Jacksonville was the #1 seed.

  • @csquaredremixz Bills were #5. Dolphins were #6 and were like 8-8 and since they beat the #3 seahawks they would play the #1 jaguars. (Colts #2 and Titans #4)

  • @mylest100 You have your seasons mixed up BIG time. The Bills were 11-5 in 1999 and played the 12-4 Titans. In 2000, they went 8-8 and didn't make the playoffs... that Seattle game was week 17...

  • @csquaredremixz 1999 AFC standings: #1JAX 14-2/ #2IND 13-3/ #3 SEA 9-7/ #4TEN 13-3/ #5 BUF 11-5/ #6 MIA 9-7 (chiefs were also 9-7 but missed playoffs)

I don't have my seasons mixed up. Miami beat Seattle 20-17 wild card weekend january 9th 2000. Titan bills game was january 8th 2000.

  • @mylest100 ahh, when you said "they," I thought you were referring to the Bills, not the Fins...

  • Im not even a Bills fan but I have to respect the greatest qb of all time. Its a shame Rob never had the talent around him.
