@Rapster70 but coyotes are death on deer, and im a deer hunter, so that makes me a coyote hunter, i will shoot any coyote. and exspcialy any dog that is chasing deer
I have seen this demonstration several times and is awesome. I think the rifle is a TC Encore judging from the lenth. The contender comes with shorter bbls, I may be wrong. I like the 22-250AI for yotes or the majestic triple deuce.

@FunnyFarm301 i can only use a couple mouth calls like closed reed rabbit distress, i just got a primos power dogg eletrontic call, works great and sounds great
For those of you just getting started in predator calling, I would like to suggest on getting a 22-250,or 223. The ammo is easy to find. The calls I use are Crit'r call, Predator quest ruffidawg (all three) and a call from Tony Tebbe. My buddy uses a Dan Thompsen PC-1. They all work great. I hunt Coyotes in Wyoming only and this year i'm up to 36 dogs.
i shoot a 300 savage in alberta canada its a great coyote gun and good for bear when you call in the wrong anmial haha how big are the dogs down south they are avrage 40 to 60 pounds here and some are crossed with farm dogs are much larger..... HAPPY HUNTING in the new year
@jjyork49 dont get a .22 thats ment for huting squirrels and goffers not coyotes, in my oppinion a .223 is about the smallest caliber of a bullet you would want to go, it doesnt matter what bullet your useing if you hit them in the right spot they are going to drop but its mor reasuring to use a bit bigger bullet
@150h the 17 would do the trick and so would the 22. but theyd have to be pretty close for you to use the 22 and youd have to hit them in the vitals or the head or youll never see the yote again. you might as well buy your self a cheap single shot 223.
@150h I've heard of guys using .17's on coyotes up to 150 yds. I guess if you could get them in that close it would work fine. Personally I use a Maverick by Mossberg in .243 with a 4x16 scope just so I can reach out if need be.
@53packardclipper just bought one but haven't fired it yet. Can you tell me the exact type of scope mount you got, I don't want to tap it, but I heard the shells hit off of the scope..do you have this problem? Thanks.

@150h I drop them dead with my 17 HMR. Only handful of times have I ever had to shoot them after running a few yards before hitting them again. Shot placement is key but even with a larger round shot placement matters.
@150h i wouldn't really use either...both are underpowered. although, if you get something underpowered, make sure it's semi auto with good cci segmented, stingers or velocitors.

i use a Thompson Center 223 55 grain single shot wit a leupold 2.5 by 8 it works real good the call i use is the primos lil dog got a nice coat on a flagstaff coyote
@ElreyJones Take it from this ol' song-dog, they're here to stay. A million'll pop back up in their place. Old man Coyote's taught me more than any man ever did. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against hunting, just so called "varmint hunting." Same with "trophy" hunts. If you're not gonna eat it, don't kill it. I've got a special affection for coyotes. In the old days, folks called 'em Song Dogs, and God's Dogs. They're not called that for nothing. Remember, you can't trick the Trickster.
@coyotecrow4 Are you on crack??? Hate to tell ya' but those stinking coyotes are nothing more that a wild, dirty, stinking canid, that need to be shot. If a stinking coyote is your mentor, you've got problems. I like to shoot stuff for
fun, and trophies. I would shoot those stinking bastards all day long. I say shoot all the junk animals, hogs, coyotes, everything!!!!
@hammer555551 Why is crack always the first reaction? Never understood that. Anyways, 'yotes have been around for a lot longer than we have. Me arguing with you obviously isn't going to open your mind any, but I feel obligated to try anyway. Killing for fun, whatever it is, doesn't make you a sportsman, it makes you a sadistic killer. Every psycho out there started off with animals first. Dalmer, Gacy, Gein, Ramirez, all of 'em. You're burning in Hell, Coyote's laughing. Game, set, match.
@coyotecrow4 No, I ain't burning in no hell, Dufus!! However, I am going to kill every coyote I see. The more we shoot of them, the more it stresses them out. Eventually, we can clean an area out of these vermin. Trust me, all you have to do is kill as many as possible, and you save many deer, rabbitts, and turkeys. Kill them all, blow them up. They smell, just like street bums, they stink. They will bite you to death, if given the chance. Stack 'em like cord wood!!!
Looks like a Johnny Stewart or a Knight & Hale. I would reccomend some of Primos calls: hotdog, lildog, etc. Although some sound higher, keep in mind you want to build a scenario while calling. Sometimes those higher pitched calls when sounding like pups may bring in some of those stubborn females. Good Hunting.
best way to defend cattle from em is to keep em from coming around your pastures... shoot em or put out some poison traps if you dont have a dog around
243 caliber, Most definitely a Thompson Center, looks to be either a Contender barrel on an Encore rifle action, or a Contender action with an Encore stock.
