I bought one of these a few months ago and it is GREAT. I love my little Ohana Vita, it produces an amazing sound. If you are thinking about buying one I highly recommend it.
I'm buying one of these soon. I already own a Tenor "TK-25G" which they no longer make and I love it. They have replaced the 25 with the 35G. Good Strumming!
Sry me again..but are you playing with the factory strings? or did you put others on? If my Ohana sounds as good as this, I'm going to be ecstatic! thanks.
Mine came with Aquila strings fitted. If yours comes with something other than Aquilas and you don't like the sound just swap them for Aquilas and you should have a uke that sounds similar to mine.
First of all, I've been shopping for my first uke for the last month..and i've listened to sound samples as best I can, and after I heard this clip, I decided to buy an Ohana Vita for myself..Obviously I don't know much about ukes just yet, but the sound in this clip won me over..it's pretty affordable so I don't think I can go too wrong! but hopefully I am as happy with it as you seem to be!!Thanks for posting!
I don't think you will be disappointed with an Ohana Vita. They are well made, affordable, they sound great and they are easy to play. A winning combination in my book!
Derek, I am just beginning to learn to play the Uke (week one) and you are inspiring me to become the best I can be, along with Carlos De Toma. I practice 3-6 hours per day, my finger tips are numb....side note - is that a parakeet on your shoulder? - I have never played an instrument before, except goofing with a hamonica and some childhood piano...but I love this little Uke all of a sudden and can't seem to put it down...Rick R
I have not touched a string instrument in many years, but this and other videos are inspiring me. thinking very seriously of getting one of these. Any advice on what you have found so far would be wonderful. Very nice playing!
I am a guitar player and have only been playing the ukulele for about 8 months so I don't know all that much about ukes. I do already own several ukes however and the Ohana Vita compares favourably to any them, even the ones that were quite a bit more expensive. The ukulele is a wonderfully accessible little instrument that will have you making music very quickly and I think the Ohana is a good choice for an inexpensive quality instrument.
This instrument is like our "charango", that is was made with an "armadillo" (rodent), and now with wood. Greetings from Argentina

What is the song you just played? And/or what cords do you used?
Thanks!

Playing uke is addictive isn't it Rick?
Keep practising(but don't forget to give your fingers a rest occasionally).
The bird you can hear is my daughter's budgerigar, he always sings when I play the uke.

Ohana is making some great ukuleles! I have a sopranino and tenor-neck soprano (really a soprano-body tenor!) and they both sound GREAT!

I agree. I'm trying to decide which one I want next! I was thinking maybe their cedar top, rosewood body concert.
