Rest in peace Big Man , the E-Street just won't be the same without you .

  • God bless you Big Man, may you rest in peace. Your legend will live on XX

  • Clarence's saxophone lent a unique sound to the band. Rest in peace, Big Man. Love you.

  • @applebeatle1

I didn't know he had passed anyway. He made me love saxophones.

  • rip big man

  • @cbarrett34 FAIL

  • Are people actually comparing bono to the boss

    Youre having a laugh

  • Bruce vs. Bono? Who cares?! They're both GREAT!

  • one rule in rock: when the wife appears on stage as a band member,IT'S OVER!!!

  • hey smartass, the guy havin the seizure is in some way disabled, watch him again, and don't be so fuckin quick to take the piss

  • patti is so lovely

  • Adele Ann Zerilli and Douglas Frederick Springsteen THANK YOUUUUUUUU !!!!

  • Regarding: threbboyz........ 5:05.........The message in the song trandscends race............But it is a curious that the editors put this man in the video at the phrase 'mister I'm not a boy I'm a man.' In my opinion its a powerful image but somewhat of a gimmick.

  • Bruce is a true persona of the Americana. He came from a small beginnings at Stoned Poney, Ashbury Park, New Jersey.

  • its the Stone Pony and Asbury Park you dumbass

  • It's Stone Pony not Stoned Poney lol. And It's in Asbury Park not Ashbury Park.

  • can't believe people are comparing bruce to bono.bruce's heart is with the american people and his homeland.he recognizes american has it's faults and has made mistakes in the past but works towards a progressing america.bono thinks he's pope.thousands of people in his homeland losing their jobs each day.a disgraceful health sector, with sick kids and elderly people waiting in hospital corridors on trolleys for hours even days.home is where charity should begin!

    Bruce for president

  • how is the UK related to anything I just said??

  • Bruce is way better than Bono!

  • @JohnTaupin

That's like comparing apples to a piece of shit. Bruuuuuuuuuce.

  • @noellennon so you're agreeing with me?

  • @JohnTaupin I certainly agree with you. No contest in fact. (Having said that, U2 were the only group who's world tour accumulated more money than Bruce's 'Working on a Dream' tour. Can't say I understand that though.) BRUUUUUUCE.

  • @JohnTaupin Of course he is. That was never a question.

  • my fav. song of his amazing harmonica solo!!!! :D

  • 5:05 hilarious. this must equate to the pleasure black people get when watching white people dance...

i've never seen a black guy have a seizure over bruce springsteen.

  • im black and love bruccie! but yer was quite funny :)

  • @threebboyz he's at 4:07 too

  • @threebboyz oops make that about 4:01

  • @threebboyz he's not having a fucking seizure you asshole. he's disabled in some way, shape or form and he's having a good time. He's cheering for Bruce Springsteen you dick. Get a life.

  • @threebboyz his name is cleon clemmons!

he is clarence long lost father who came back into his life a few years ago probably trying to take advantage of his son's wealth and fame

  • I always thought he used a Hohner Marine Band harp - don't remember where I heard that - but an MB or a Blues Harp would be my picks for the nice bends on this song.

  • anyone know what type of harmonica this is?

  • Hohner Marine Band in G key

  • Hy guys ... was that really Barak Obama , or you were joking ? I'm very very curious about this ...

  • No lol, it wasn't him xD

  • I dunno what it is about this song but I absolutely love it. There's tons of songs of Bruce that are fantastic but if i were forced to name 2 I'd have this and Growing up and maybe slip thunder road by accident..lol

Great vid thank you my friend.

  • The guy at 4.40 is a true fan

  • Unbelievably awesome! I love that the Boss is still rocking the house and fearlessly standing up for what he believes in politically. How often do we get to LOVE an artist and admire that person as well? Props to Bruuuuce! Plus, how hot does he still look playing that harmonica?!

  • I completely co-sign on that thought...the man is true in every sense of the word...love the Boss!!!

  • the Promised Land will be at HSBC arena March7th with me right there...oh baby I cant wait.....

  • Can't wait for March 08

  • Bruce Springsteen fans are the best. We are THE BEST ! I saw him in Ottawa a few months ago and i am going back next march in Montreal. I have never found someone as TRUE as Springsteen. He's the man

  • The best part of this song is the black dude at the end having an orgasm.

  • imagine riding on a cross town bus and looking out the window and seeing bruuuuuuuuuuuuuce! lol too funny

  • This is my absolute favorite Springsteen song..it resonates so much feeling and emotion.

  • like, four months till milwaukee. tickets haven't gone on sale, but i'm making sure my parents schedules are cleared so they buy me tickets!! i saw him in chicago, but if he comes to mil. i HAVE TO SEE HIM!! amazing song off of darkness!

  • Itchin' for something to start " He definitely ain't done yet, see him on the stage in 2007/8 pounding out the songs as if each concert is the last. There is a sense of urgency on this tour that wasn't there before. He knows what is at stake, survival of the country. Wake up America, you are losing the best parts of yourself. You can see it as grown men and women with children, mortgages, bills, no health care belt out the songs with tears in their eyes.

  • Definitely the best !

still gives me "gooseflesh" (is it the right word)?

  • Yes! Chills up the spine! "If I could take one moment into my hand"

  • Oh yeah! December 12th, Cologne! I will be there!

  • For me December 17th, Paris Bercy !!

  • Darkness on the edge of town - 1978

    Bruuuuuuce!!! Waitin'for you in Milano

  • thanks man

  • darkness on the edge of town, release 1978

  • 95% of the songwriters today would love to just write one song as good as this one, Bruce is amazing, this song still holds up,

  • Talk about uplifting! Brother man!

  • this song is summation for everything this band stands for... he better play this in madrid!

  • You spoilt Americans!!!! Have only seen Bruce live 4 times cause I live at the end of the world. Come back to Sydney mate!!!!

  • Mr Springsteen please please please come to Australia

  • BRUCE RULES AND THE SONG IS CALLED "THE PROMISE LAND" NOT "PROMISED LAND". Bruce is AMAZING!

  • Good lord! Don't you know anything?? It's 'The Promised Land' from the 'Darkness on the Edge of Town' (1978) album.

  • Trust me I know I don't know if u were talking to me or this video. I forgot the "ed" at the end of The Promised Land.

  • "Mister, I ain't a boy, I'm a man, and I believe in the Promised Land."

Those words seem even more relevant today under the godless, greed-driven Bush-corporate dictatorship.

  • God i love this man, i swear its like an unwriten law for every New Jersey Native to love him! You Jersey people im sure know exactly what im talking about :)

  • sing your songs.... mio fratello italiano....

  • Being a Springsteen addict, anytime I find myself down from the days activities or just not feeling good, all it takes is throwing in the DVD's from Barcelona or New York (HBO special) and it is manna from heaven! This music has sustained me through the years and many miles traveled and will continue to do so. I am sure all Bruce fans can attest to this fact.

  • I totally agree with you! Dont' forget... "everybody has a reason to begin again"!

    ciao from Italy

  • C'mon...who ELSE thought the BLACK guy was RETARDED? BRUUUUUUUUUCE!!!!!!!!!

  • How can one man write so many timeless songs?

  • ONE man, hasn't. Others have, also.

For example, look at how many songs Bob Dylan has scribed ..and have been written for, and performed by,.. other artists.

Long before "The Boss" arrived on the scene..

  • Bob Dylan I think is majorly overrated, he wrote a few songs that have entered the popular circulation, and the rest have been left in obscurity.

  • Give credit where it's due. Dylan has penned over 400 songs and MANY of them got airplay, (not just "a few")whether performed by him or by the MANY other performers that he wrote for. Dylan has been writing songs for 45 years. He was ranked #2 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of "Greatest Artists of All Time", second only to The Beatles. Even when Bruce got his big start in the 70's, they were calling him "the new Bob Dylan". - (Obviously holding Bruce, up to the standard set by Dylan)

  • "Even when Bruce got his big start in the 70's, they were calling him "the new Bob Dylan". - (Obviously holding Bruce, up to the standard set by Dylan)" well, that was in 70's and if he was that good when he was that young how good is he now, still able to write great songs? (according to me much better songs than Dylan)

  • How good is he now? Still writing songs & currently on tour. Dylan has been nominated several times for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Last year at age 65, his album: Modern Times made #1 on US Album Charts and was named album of the year, by Rolling Stone mag. Nothing against Bruce, but he walks in Dylan's footprints. Listen to the complete works of Dylan, you will see what I mean.

  • not many bands can pull the four guitar assault off, but damn, if they don't rock at 8:00 a.m.! I had the day off and caught the whole thing with some coffee. Not a bad way to begin your weekend...

  • If you didn't have the day off there could not be a better reason to take one, looked like a great time....

  • his music will live on and on and on...an American icon, and that is not an overstatement

  • It doesn't get any better than this! The BOSS RULES!

  • Still on top, there's nobody better!

  • The True Last Giant of music still in Top form

  • fucking awesome

  • No matter how old Bruce gets, he can still cut it live and this song always gives me chills. The E Street band are still tight and make it all look so easy. Can't wait to hear the new cd.

  • :] he is incredible

  • brilliant song....the boss was at his best when he wrote this one!!

  • yaay i have general admission ticks for l.a.!! woot woot
