@92jcgb Bon Iver is another band, and Justin Vernon is the mastermind. This isn't a collaboration, this is Justin Vernon himself. He has been in many bands...Deyarmond Edison, Gayngs, Volcano Choir, Mount Vernon, JD Vernon(Solo Album), and Justin Vernon(Solo Album).
Yeah, I heard of them because of Justin Vernon, but I'm not here for him. Great music though. I love the layers of the acoustic guitar, and the vocals. Justin Vernon has this voice that can tear you both ways sometimes though. I think it's much more suitable in a song like this though for some reason.
@ck675 I totally agree with you! I myself am a singer songwriter and I started writing music six years ago, but stopped after a few songs. It was like writers block but for a musician. And then my mum introduced by to Bon Iver a few years ago... I am almost certain that it's thanks to Justin Vernon that I felt influenced to start again :)
Anything Justin Vernon is apart of is just beyond amazing. whether it be Volcano Choir, Bon Iver, Gayngs, and more. he just adds this feel to the music that I can't even explain.
@TiphanieTetris Of course everyone has their own interpretation on music. But the topic of Justin Vernon being one of the most influential musicians of our generation is always a topic for discussion. If you haven't followed his work or his career you won't appreciate or recognize the actual vastness of what he's done. It's mind blowing. I take it you're not a musician.
@bufriedolover Or we could analyse the American English dialect and why it spells words with Z that are spelt with an S in the original English? My money is on Noah Webster wanted to simplify things for poor American settlers so they could learn to spell. Noble really, never caught on with the rest of the world mind you.
@bufriedolover HAHA, lets analyse your knowledge on spelling words first. You can spell analyse either way, analyse or analyze. how can you even think about grammar while listening to this song? its pure magic.
I don't know what you're are talking about...the beeping is calming but edgy at the same time and definitely contributes to the overall effectiveness of the song. Great work, Justin et al.
i discovered this be pure chance and am struck by its sincerity. totally peaceful tune....

this song is kind of like a distorted "creature fear" by bon ivor (i know bon ivor collaborated), still equally as beautiful.

I would be 100% okay with Justin Vernon being widely 'labeled' as being the most influential musician of our generation.

The beeping noise is a metronome. This album is very raw. J Vern is just simply the best when it comes to making winter feeling music.

this is so good. you should all check out 'the books' if you like this. great album called lost and safe.

@mowrt620 possibly the child of Justin Vernon and Jonsi, too?

@mowrt620 Except not at all. I'd say Justin Vernon is a much more visionary musician than Grizzly Bear and Dirty Projectors.

and the beeping
yeah
i like it gives it a bit more structure in comparison to the stop start guitar at the beggining

It's so good. No need to analyse it. Or compare it.
