  • in youtube many are martial arts experts and martial arts masters, but in real life their are just fat useless facing their Personal Computers wtf........

  • @MrRavege you jealous, that's you said them useless, if you face them, you can't even stand after one kick

  • tae kwon do korea

  • Just like a vase, nice to look at, very pretty. But, do u see these acrobatic kicks and moves when TKD takes on other martial arts like say Muay Thai? Muay Thai uses simple yet devastatingly effective kicks combined with deadly punches. That's why TKD hardly survives in a fight with other MAs.

  • @miang62..i've practiced both tkd and muay thai for years..and from experience..you couldn't be more wrong. In a street fight, sure muay thai is probably more effective, but put a tkd and a muay thai guy in a ring and see who gets kicked in the head first.

  • @NinjaDude..Don't assume you are the only one who trained in MA. I was in TKD and dropped it before going into Traditional Chinese MA and Judo. And I've taken on TKD in quite a few national tournaments. Yeah I don't know how it's like to get kicked in the head but I know what's it's like to punch TKD in the face. In these tournaments where diff MAs fight each other, the only MA that TKD could sometimes defeat is Silat. Otherwise, they get owned by Karate, MT, Sanshou..etc

  • @NinjaDude..I once took on TKD guy from the national team. Fella was quick with his feet, but his hands were like totally useless. I closed the distance and his kicks became totally ineffective, and I could elbow, punch and throw him at will. That's why I say, TKD demo is like modern wushu demo, full of beautiful acrobatics and nothing else. No offence to you & TKD, but I'm simply saying what I've seen and experienced.

  • @NinjaDude..I'm a firm believer that no MA is the best MA. It all boils down to rules, experience, training..etc. Every MA has its strengths and weaknesses, so it's best to study various MA if you want to be a good all-round martial artist.

  • Amazing!

  • love doing taekwondo.and proud. and self defencive,.

  • Awesome ! They're almost flying !!!

  • thumbs up if at first you think you muted it

  • I just love it . LOVE IT SO MUCH

  • Every kick perfected

  • i luv taekwondo i just started 2morrow i am getting my orange belt do you have any advice for me

  • KOERA IS A COUNTRY OF HOODLUM IN THE SPORT

  • Master Sook Yeun Nam, Woodbridge, Va. very, very humble and nice guy.

  • I just signed up just got out of training at 8 pm very tiring but I bet its worth it.

  • nice vid>>pls upload more>>i love it!!

  • Do these guys get taught by frogs or something?

    They jump like ninjas!

While TaeKwonDo is underappreciated for its main use of kicks, a kick is very effective on the streets. Imagine you attacking someone when you get a roundhouse kick to the head. Guaranteed knockout or at least enough for them to back off.

  • @megalodan1

altough i have to admit the roundhouse is one of my favourite kicks, it is not very practical on the street, at least if it's done high as you say to the head (long disctance)

besides, you are not stretched and warmed up on the street. also you don't wear your dobok but tight street wear which makes highkicking very difficult.

another big disadvantage of the roundhouse is that your groin is totaly open to strikes if you miss.

i would prefere safer techniques in self defence.

  • @qubiq3 roundhouse kick doesn't have to be to the head. You can roundhouse to the ribs or abs. I was not very good at "acrobatic" type kicks when I did TKD, so when sparring i only did low roundhouse kick. although one guy who was considered tough/jock once told me that people were afraid of my kicks lol

  • Ballet practice.

  • 1:46 yesss!!

  • 皆さんテコンドーのような偽物ではなく、空手のような本物の武術を学んで下さい。

  • Girls kicking high. <3

  • Hey! This is AWESOME. I have some similar videos I took on my HD camera last Fall in Korea. Check them ouT!!!

  • i've been lookin around for a martial art to learn, but im not sure which one would be good with someone my size. im 6' 6" tall and 300 lbs (trying to lose weight). any suggestions would be very much appreciated :)

  • That Chick in the video i s awesomeeeeeee!

  • Woah!!! There's someone out there who can watch this and then say it is NOT a martial art??? What an idiot! I've spent ages working for my black belt and no one's gonna f**k me around saying stuff like that now.

  • @chrischres or what ever ur name is u r a douche tae kwon do is awsome i dovoted my entire life to it i started when i was 3 and im 13 4 days a week and im a 2nd degree black belt sooo shut the fuck up ur jeluse that u cant do what they do

  • blabla bla XD Matiral Arts is offensive xD it's just that nowadays its practiced as sport. Not to defend yourself. I know story by elder people. Who where told by old mans that matiral arts where used to defend yourself. So you had to kill you opponent before he could kill you. Yeah thats selfdefence but nowadys its different we have more laws.....

Police who controll the laws... so there is no need for matiral art how it was in the past.... people who talk about effectiv are jsut aggressiv.

  • it's so awesome the camera can't keep up

  • gosh.. so pro--! bravooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:57 OMG

  • that girl is chun lee marri meeeeeee chun liiiiiiiii hahaha

  • ichkeriya chechnya

  • if you see this demonstration you know that tkd is effective i wonder why so many people are talking such shit...

  • I think you idiots should actually find out what taekwon do is before you start talking shit about it. Fuck you. Not offensive what the fuck are you talking about? Tkd is the best!

  • @ Wolfish

    chuck norris did learn tkd

    dont dis tkd

its always underestimated and regarded as only a 'sport'.

    to think that is idiotic.

there is a sport aspect but it al 90% hard martial arts.

  • @LiamBobbitt27

How can anyone dis tkd? its so awesome!!!

  • Tae Kwon Do can be an offensive Martial Art. While it is primarily used in defensive situations, it only takes a little improvisation to make it offensive. It's taught defensively as nobody wants you to go out and start throwing hurricane-hook kicks at people who you don't like.

I've trained for 6 years and got to 1st Dan under the World Tae Kwon Do Federation's teachings. It's not only an effective fighting style but it's execution is also beautiful.

  • @Goldensavoir Well said, very well said!

  • @Goldensavoir TKD was never a martial art ! Its a total farce for all involved . Oh and Satan your Grandmaster is he Christ ? a-hole

  • @chrischerc TKD has been a Martial Art for a very long time. Even before it WAS Tae Kwon Do, it was still a Martial Art (Subak & Taekkyeon. Predecessors of Tae Kwon Do.). And for those involved in it, it's definitely not a 'farce'. Otherwise they wouldn't take it. As for that last bit, no. Satan's the dude in Hell, my Grandmaster is Master Byung Lee (one of the Lee Brothers),and Christ is the dude in Heaven. And you've only made an ass out of yourself, my friend. :]

  • @chrischerc Woops. I misinterpreted your post. I thought the last bit was still directed at me. My fault.

  • @chrischerc U are such a dumbass, its sad. REALLY? NOT a martial arts? tkd has been a martial arts from a long time, they just started calling it tkd in 1950 though, and ever noticed the emblem on the uniforms say WOLD FEDERATION MARTIAL ARTS? GOD the ppl in the Korean National Demo Team should come kick ur ass. ITS NOT A FARCE, but I should break ur face.

  • @Goldensavoir Congratulations on ur black belt! Im going to get my 2nd dan test this year

  • @Goldensavoir what's 1st Dan? Are you a master? How long does it take to become a master? Are there cons of learning it?

  • @barretpaige14 1st Dan is essentially the first Degree black belt. It's the first Black belt.

In TKD, they go by 'Dan' level systems.

I'm not a master. Got to the point where I had enough experience to begin teaching. So, an instructor.

And a con of learning it? Not really. There's no bad side of bettering yourself. :D

  • @Goldensavoir To become a master you need to get 4th degree. An Instructor is just normal black belt.

  • I love Tae Kwon Do. The Grandmaster at my Dojang was the world champion in 1989, so I know I'm getting the real deal.

  • @SatanisaBeaverShark What's his name ?!

  • @Philmen Master Chang Seo Park.

  • AWESOME

  • I do belive that TKD does not work in MMA because it defently isnt for attacking, and with such guided rules. Like i said the art is fourmed with speed and technique. So if a person kicks you or punches you, there is means to use your speed and tech to counter it, TKD also used the traditonal way and the self defence way, you have to learn to keep the two in each poket, and people who fight in K-1 or MMA forget that and go for looks rather then hurt, wich needs to be taught from teachers better.

  • True, high kicks are usually a bad idea against an opponent of decent or greater skill in a street fight, especially if they are from the back and airial. HOWEVER, IF THEY HAVE A SPEED ADVANTAGE AND HAVE WEAKENED YOU KABLOW....FURTHER TKD AND KARATE FOCUSES ON ATTACK LOW WITH KICKS IN A STREET FIGHT=1.Groin 2. Knee 3. Femoral Nerve These are the main targets for kicking in all martial arts with kicking...except for that gay Capoeira and fuck BJJ too.

  • well you would never use the jump kicks in a real fight. thats just dumb this is a DEMO team. there whole point is to show off

  • I might if I have weakened him. I damn sure would not aim higher than the chest though. You train to kick high just to have the option and to be good at kicking low.

  • Dude, I' torn here. That was a stupid comment. But man, it was funny as well.

  • your an idiot and are disrespectfull. First off if you want to talk about K-1 and MMA and all that crap, Lets say the names ahhh i dunno Bas Rutten? Black belt in Tae kwon do hardest kicks in MMA, Anderson Silva. The list is endless over half of MMA fighters train or did train in TKD. MMA is a sport now athlet vs athlet there just fighters, TKD in the street? is a self defence art and works, and is a martial arts, doing what the natural body cant do and so on, You have no right saying that punk.

  • I will agree to a point, the higher center of gravity and mobility Anderson Silva has is clearly Maui Thai greatly influenced by TKD. It is also good to point out that Shotokan Karate and real TKD for street fighting are virtually identical, just different emphasis. Lyoto has shown just how great a linear way of fighting is in MMA even where Karate and TKD are faced with ridiculous rules constantly.

  • Yes i do agree, General choi i belive was in shotokan before creating TKD with General Lee. TKD rules in WTF is very sporty, great fun but not legit, as were ITF is very legit, my teacher is sean rogers 3rd dan and my other teacher with a class down the road is Dave Oliver 8th degree black belt and president of ITF. I really love that pople share the same discipline in TKD as myself and talk in a good manner about the fine art. TKD has good counter attack moves, good tech kicks for that,

  • General Choi only earned yellow belt in test under GM Won Kuk Lee, the rest where honorary promotions. General Choi betrayed GM Lee by going to North Korea with TKD. GM Lee was never a general, though a number of his students where in the Korean War. ITF is still sport and often doesn't have full power. General Choi, Jhoon Rhee, Edward Sell, Dave Oliver, etc... are all fake TKD masters not worthy of there rank. I have no more words for you or most of the scum on this video.

  • wel lets put it this way dude- you cant polish a turd- the highest rank in this style is probablee the same as a white belt. no awesom fighter ever come from this style-chuck norris, jcvd, b.lee, steven segal-they knew how2 fite like men, it entertainin 2 watch tho and a beautiful ballet like movementz

  • @WolfishNuckajuh

you know, i've done ballet for quite a few years [but sometimes i do like to see a little martial arts(:] anywho, i've never ever kicked in ballet

so i don't know where you're getting the "beautiful ballet like moevementz" from this video

  • at 0:50 is what i tried to do for semi black fourth stripe testing and fell once, hit with my toes and used thick unforgiving boards i wish io trained harder lol this is really amazing here

  • I have never met a master who uses fin' stripes on their belt system and is legit. While it may be possible your master is legit, he probrably is yet anther mcdojo teacher. I had my fill of them in Bastrop.

  • uh thats mor common with karate,n that is very rare with taekwondo. but i know exactly what u mean.

  • This was AWEsome.

  • the last one was insane.....

  • viadinhos...

queimam ainda mais o nome do TKD com essas apresentações artísticas e sem fundamento.

Pura e simples beleza, nada de marcial. Fracos demais.

  • I do Tae Kwan Do and can only really dream about martial arts like that!!!!! Absolutely Superb!!

  • For the love of God, DO THE RESEARCH! Grandmaster Won Kuk Lee founded Chung Do Kwan Tang So Do in 1944; a style combined from Shotokan Karate(he was a 4th degree), variations on Kung Fu from Shanghai and Henan province(see his interviews), some Taekkyon (at least added by later masters though he may have practiced in secret when Korea was apart of the Japanese Empire), some Goju Ryu, some Silla(from Korea), etc...TKD is a mixed martial art and General Choi only got yellow belt by testing...>

  • my Grandmaster (Grandmaster E.C. Ahn) trained under Grandmaster Lee and General Choi. He can do things a 70 something yr old man should not be able to do.

  • Do some research. How often have you ever seen General Choi in a dobok? He is just a business man that betrayed GM Lee. GM Choi of World Chung Do Kwan TKD Association is a 70 man who is in incredible shape and truely trained under GM Lee properly. Thank god General Choi is dead. I don't know much about GM Ahn one way or the other, but if he claims his skill came from General Choi he is false and focused on sport/business. If he sides with GM Lee he has my respect. Simple.

  • really good

  • the girl in :18 is she the lead girl in the movie spin kick?

  • Master Song here in Santa Cruz trained with general choi while growing up... does that mean his art isn't valid? His traditional TKD is the exact same as Choi's, so I'm disagreeing with your statement.

  • this is so awesome.. somehow looks a lot better without any music.. more real

  • This is making me daizy...xD ...lol awesome

  • nice!!

  • THAT WAS AMAZING!!!

  • love it ,I'm going to see Master Kim right now !!!and practice !!! hahahahah

  • err i have a master Kim too? does ur MASTER have a son.. named David..-.-??? and has his schoool near a china star restaurant?

just wonderin.. even though there could b a milion kims around the world. hehe but 1 specific Kim i'm talkin bout lolz =)

  • No , sorry , This Master Kim own "TEXAS WHITE TIGER TAEKWONDO "awesome school, awesome Master ,

  • ohhhhhhh lolz kk tho

  • lol kims the most common korean last name so theres bound to be thousands of master kims

  • Like I said, if you are good enough, you'll get special attention from your master and learn a lot more than the watered down curriculum. Also, about the fancy techniques. You think they're easier than the "old-school" techniques? Only people I see complain about them are those fat, middle-aged "black belts" who can't do crap and focus on "self-defense". Younger generation over-emphasize on fancy techniques but I also know many Korean grandmasters who support moderate practice of those.

  • 서른살인데 그렇게 바보처럼 말하는거...ㅋ 너 아무것도 모르는거지. 역시 미국인이고.

you know many korean grandmasters? pfft, as far as i'm concerned there is only 최중화. choi jung hwa is the only taekwondo grandmaster

  • is he the only one you accept?

  • Yes, anything other than the teachings of General Cho Hong-Hi is not Taekwon-Do. Therefore anyone outwith this style of Taekwon-Do claiming for themselves the title or 'Grandmaster' is not, in my view, you may have your own view, a Taekwon-Do grandmaster.

  • you are right but you are very dogmatic... what do you mean by "a taekwon do grandmaster" who do you mean?

  • i'm not dogmatic, i said 'in my view, you may have your own view' :)

a taekwondo grandmaster is the taekwondo master who has been elected by other leading masters (8th dan) to be the only 9th dan and have grandmaster status

  • we do nor argue. i follow ITF as well.... but i cannto say taht WTF is not taekwon do.. i consider it as its little brother.

  • What about Grand Master C.E Sereff? He was Promoted to Grand Master by the General himself.

  • Also, don't blame the art or the teacher for student's fault. Almost all TKD schools teach watered down blend curriculum but if you are willing, able, and show dedication for a long time, masters will teach you the "real" TKD. Korean TKD masters are very very very selective about who they teach for "real". It'll requires years of consistency before they may start to think about it.

  • There is no such thing as a master., only teachers. TKD uses master to fill huge egos and to denote superior beings to keep students in awe and in line. All masters are now passed. The words that should be used to denote a head of a system are Head Sensei. You cannot be a master at something that changes every day. Most Tkd schools rip off the public by teaching them fancy , dangerous kicks and other Useless techniques (without upper guards) ridiculous, to try to defend themselves.

  • Do you think the public can take "tough, old-school" TKD? Hell no. TKD "industry" is simply adapting to modern times. But still, there are few places to learn the some real TKD. In the US, you know as well as I do, average adults are in their mid 30's wiith huge beer gut. Do you think they can handle real TKD? No. So, "masters" are simply adjusting. And with kids? Korean kids are a lot more disciplined compared to other countries (e.g. US)

  • The origin of Tae Kwon Do!!!!

  • wow!

  • I WOULD LIKE TO SEE 1080! SPIN KICK!

  • Hello,

Well, TKD has turned into a sport. I have been in Isshinryu 41 years, 1968 with Ed Johnson, Texas. I was senior student in the US to the late Great Grandmaster Dr. Dae Shik Kim, one of the 5 founders of TKD in the US. Austin TX 1976-77. Trained privately by Dr. Kim in TKD as a martial art, not sport. My brother a 6th dan TKD lived in Seoul 11 years and trained with the best there, he said the martial art of TKD is dead, even in Korea.

R.I.P. hey these guys can kick you in the head

  • you know when you see something really good you cant stop smiling? well i got that now

  • Modern Tkd is only a watered down ripoff of shotokan without the devastation.. To try to teach self - defense with hardly any use of hands or guards along with high spinning kicks is truly insane. The masters of Tkd should be totally scrutenized and chastized for their backwards leadership.

    ISSHINSENSE ON YOUTUBE

  • notice the word DEMO in the title? And to claim TKD has no power is a stupid statement.Go and find a seventh dan TKD blackbelt ,spar a couple of rounds and when you get out of hospital you might have changed your mind.

  • Been there, done that, green. Had 6 dojos, in isshinryu 40 years, also 3 years Aikido, judo,ju-jitsu, nerve strikes, anatomy, weapons, fought hundreds of times and 25 years bouncing and security, and you?

  • the thing is, wtf changed tae kwon do. they made it into a sport as u have sed. ITF still keeps the traditional patterns, rules, and styles created by general choi hong hi. In my opinion tkd is about self improvement, physically, mentally, and psychologically. Tae Kwon Do is not only about kicking and punching, it is about a way of life.

  • Have you ever considered that only the best really get to train "real" TKD? There are literally millions practicing TKD nowadays because WTF have been successful at marketing. But best of the best, literally, get to train at places like KyungHee Unv., YongIn Univ, etc. Best quality TKD is only available at top martial arts university only in Korea.

And the fact that you fought "hundreds" of times is nothing to be proud of as a martial artist, if you are one.

  • MDIS, respect.

  • Its not the ART that makes a man.

Its the MAN that maketh the ART. General rule; its not the style that u had studied , 2 deem it effective/not . Its how u trained , had proper supervisions & how u use those techniques with regards 2 experience , skills development & mental attitude. Not everyone is a killer or a dangerous super human weapon. But we all do have that innate ability to do so. Again, it is how you want it to be. The limitless ways needs a solid foundation 2 begin. Keep on learning

  • Beautiful said!

  • What else can we say ? Great !

  • muy buenos los vodeos de taekwondo

  • fuckin nice

  • What's the big deal? I was doing these moves when I was 7

  • ufff... cool gifts... but its a pitty that it's not original :(

  • You said before on your other comments that you have been training in Tae Kwon Do for a year........You don't know shit yet you shut the fuck up.

  • People who call themselves good martial artist but disrespects other people's martial art is a disgrace! For me, there is no such thing as the "Number 1" Martial Art, it is with one's actions of humility and honor which makes the art a great one. And it is not a test of which one makes a better beating and injuries to the opponent. Try to evaluate yourselves for a while maybe you're way far behind your tenets.

  • Spoken like a true Martail Artist.....good for you.

  • *tear drop* well said

  • sheep

  • Instead of fighting, share experience. No wonder there's war in the world when two types of an ART! can't be at peace. Martial-Artists should know better.

  • i luv tae kwon doe im only a 1st degree but its my fave sport to do

  • tae kwon do is a MARTIAL ART!!! N O T a sport as a1st degree id assume you would know that but must have been mistaugh by your instructor in class

  • u are right...Taekwondo is a martial arts, but its Taekwondo ITF...this is because the founder,Choi Hong Hi in World war 2 learns Karate and then mix with Korea Taekyon,so it became taekwondo.WTF is an olymppic, hand are hardly to be use in free sparring...so it is a sport..in real fight ppl did not wear any Guards for street fight...

  • im am insulted by all of you. look at all of you guys, argueing about martial arts! (ah this ones better! No this one is! no your stupid this one is!) martial arts isnt about competion, or being different, its the complete opposite! its to be more connected withs one inner self, and to be one with the universe. To harness the ki inside of you(or chi whichever one) im am simply ashamed of all of you abusing martial arts

  • lol @ epic e-fight

  • chrischerc - most of your comments are so far off track that i won't waste anymore time pointing out the obvious. you may or may not be a 7th dan in Isshinryu, but you sure look like a fat slob in your sweats. 7th dan? where's your gi and black belt? work on the beer belly, pal! if you knew crap you'd know that the palgwe of tkd and the heian kata of shotokan are not the same. okay, no more stupid words. if you got a problem with me contact me and we can work it out face to face
  • MK ooooh Im scared ! Simple - you see my name _ STOP READING ! A-HOLE !

  • chrischerc - i don't know what your problem with tkd is. it is a very legitimate martial art, not just a sport. why don't you spar with Jhoon Rhee, TKD master? after he beats you down a few times you will have to eat crow. saying that Shotokan is great and TKD is just a weak sport form is ridiculous. remember: "a wise man listens carefully, but a fool delights only in expressing his own opinion." grow up and act like a man if you are a real martial artist.
  • And a wiser man reads what is written, and an idiot adds his own words and misinterpets the truth. Never said Shotokan is great, fool.

  • tkd is traditional Korean martial art - its

different from Funakoshis shotokan which came

from Okinawan forms - arguing on youtube is

    worthless, but check your facts

  • You had better check yours and compare the forms of both . You are wrong about it being worthless already diverted many away from useless tkd.

  • you have to spend time conditioning your hands and feet to make them hard then and only then will you have the confidence to strike at full speed full power.

  • i saw some kids from:demo team school of martail arts today at my school and they where 10-13 (red-blue belt)doin this

  • is there a particular way to kick to board, because it looks pretty painful, and I thought there might be a way to kick it so your feet don't get hurt, or is it something that has to hurt no matter what?

  • It doesn't always hurt when you break them =) It all depends on your focus, and two important factors, where you kick the board, and what part of your foot or hand you use.

  • If the board(s) break, you won't feel a thing, but if they don't... Train on a heavy bag, if you can make solid impacts on the bag you can break boards with no problem.

  • esta bueno pero no tiene audio

  • wwaaaaaaaaw i loye you tae kwon do ....dadoune

  • wow 0:20-0;23. That's one of Hwoarang's moves in Tekken 3! Great stuff

  • wow......

  • yeah thats one strategy. out of like thousands. i wouldn't say karate wins the day. muay thai has alot more balance. every martial art is used differently. no one necessarily will automatically defeat another. and karate is just "popular" not the best. and im not saying you said that. im just commenting. lol

  • yes, i agree with a lot of people here and not to sound mean or anything, but American style Karate isn't that great. When i see people who show off and say "Hey i do karate", i doubt their abilities to do well in a sparring match simply cuz a lot of American Karate schools are there just for money. Some of them aren't even officially recognized, which makes getting a black belt there meaningless. And yes, like Yoshi said no MA auto beats another. It's how u use it. =D

  • I do karate here in england, and it's different to what you described in America, we don't just do karate for sparing. I do agree with Yoshi it is very popular, but it depends on the persons mind on how they use it and that's why you train your mind and body =D... martial arts are like weapons it's the user that makes it great but TKD is class lol

  • Tae Kwon Do is actually the most popular art in the world, despite popular belief, karate, and Tae Kwon Do are two different arts =) from two very different places, I do both. I liked the part of your comment where you were implying there is no better art because, tried and true, there isn't, only those who do not know enough about the martial arts to be making that assumption =P

  • Clint I have been in the arts 40 years. I am experienced in Judo , Aikido, Ju-Jitsu, Isshinryu, Weapons , Boxing , Nerve points and Chinese meridians. I can give an opinion - TKD is garbage and always has been since it was ripped off from Funikoshis shotokan karate. Tkd is not a martial art it is a sport and a bad one at that. Go out and explore systems teaching anatomy and nerve points , you'll be surprised whats out there. Forget Tkd.

    ISSHINSENSE ON YOUTUBE.

  • Alright... your negative comments on Taekwondo have come far enough Chrisc...

    SHUT THE FUCK UP.

  • NO !

  • you know wad.

your the crappiest old guy ive ever met.

it doesnt matter about the martial art.

    but the individual.

so wad if your learned more ?

i bet theres more people who know tkd or other stuff that could kick your ass =)

    so.

    STFU =D.

  • You know wad Eshton , you have a long way to go.If I were you I'd start looking into physical anatomy and nerve points. You're just at that age to get a good head start. Know what weapons can be used on what nerves and how the body is affected. Tkd is not going to do this. Try it you'll like it.

  • Err.

I use weapons in taekwondo aswell ?

    Depends on your instructor aswell.

Mine teaches the bo, sai, and other stuff.

And I follow exactly the philosophy of Bruce Lee that strenght doesnt depend on the style but more on the fighter.

Sorry if I followed the greatest martial artist of all time.

  • Are you for real? If you were really experienced in the arts, you would know that TKD is a sport, but also so much more. It can be a complete stand-up style, depending on your instructors. You'd also know that ITF tkd was started by Gen. Choi, who did have his black belt in Shotokan, but the wtf style comes from taekyon, and many other ancient traditional korean arts, and wtf is the style most commonly practiced in Korea. Check your facts. You sound like a fool.

  • I 've been in the arts 40 years , owned and operated 6 successful schools and much more I wont go into now. You have been brainwashed and have been blinded by your masters lies . The only masters I know of are dead. To the ones that know the true history of this sport, you are the fool. I know TKD is a sport and only a sport. It is not a martial art, and should not be passed off as one. It was stolen without its essential bunkai, thats why it is such a joke today.

  • You're the only that sounds like you have been brainwashed. You sound bitter. I own and operate a very successful dojang, and i happen to know many "original masters", tkd masters that have been presidential bodyguards, military instructors, etc. etc. I also think that if you were a true master yourself, you wouldn't be so inconsiderate towards other styles. If you'd like, you can contact me privately, and you can come test your style against mine.

  • Im looking out for the naive public that is being taken in and scammed by the tkd heirarchy. To teach protection the body and not teach keeping the guard up is simply ludicrous ! Plus the rising block as many other techniques they teach are totally worthless. I am not a master and proudly denounce the extremly egoistic title !

  • You are the only one that is naive. I have never, ever heard in my years in taekwondo to protect the body and NOT the head. That's ridiculous. what you are talking about is the "sport" component to tkd, where many competitors keep their guard down, because the rules don't allow for hand strikes to the head. You have shown your ignorance by stating that this is the only component of tkd. Do you think that your master is extremely egotistical because of his title,or do you even train under one?

  • Thats the standard reply from everyone of you tkd liars. " Oh we never heard of fighting with no guard, yet in all the tkd schools and tournies Ive been to thats all I've seen. Along with that you hear slaps on the mats all day long, not from knockouts , but mostly stu dents falling because of their bad balance throwing kicks. They throw blind spinning kicks and other kicks useless on the street. Tkd is a farce and always has been.

  • For that reason i believe the reason tkd is called a sport is because of the fact that tkd is one of the best martial art known to humanity.

  • who do you think you are bitch if tkd was not a true martial art then why on earth did the chinese get beaten by our korean martial art that can kick your ass and i bet do what wu shu, even if it is beautiful martial art but not as good with building a strong mind body and soul and my master is not dead for he is a world champion fighting other martial artists.

  • The only mastersare dead. Tell me does he know all there is about all martial arts moves, bunkai and martial arts history . I doubt it. Does he know about summation, abberant behavior, chinese meridians, phrenic, radial, or xphoid process? I think not. So what did he master? We are all only human beings . I have been in matches both tourney life and street with tkd men. Not 1 has had any effect. Even trained Larry Cureton for 2 ufc fights which he lost.

  • Ok, you're forgetting what master means. It's usually for someone who has mastered something, like mastering a kick, or the sort. So, not all masters are dead. If you say he was calling himself a "Universal Martial Arts Master" Then yes, that'd be a lie, but otherwise, it IS possible to be a master nowadays.

And don't forget, in Far Eastern terms, master doesn't necessarily mean "Man of absolute knowledge and power", It's also teacher, and life-coach.

  • I dislike the word entirely I dont care what the field or occupation to even use the word as a title is showing true disrespect to the one true master. Even after 40 years I consider myself a sensei, teacher. I give respect to deceased masters because they have mastered all they could in their life of studies. To call yourself a master mechanic or master carpenter is rediculous because even these things are in contant change, new tools, etc.

  • DOn't worry, I get what you mean. But still support my view of "a master/teacher" what you want to call it.

  • so what if youve been in martial arts for 40 yrs and have "succesful" schools.

you think you are so right and so good just because of your status? please- stop wasting your breath

  • estan todos hechos unos papisssssssssssss

  • that works but when you learn tae kwon doe most of the time hapkido is part of it

  • dude tae kwan do specializes in kicks. that's like the martial art's most technique. kicks..

  • It depends of a person.

  • that's why we have side kicks, their meant to push your opponent back if they try to advance.

  • No disrespect mean't but your 13.
