I can do the inward k snare, but I can't do the outward one... The first beatbox I learned was wind technique, and that wasn't smart, so now I need to start from the basics. Any ideas?
@Zaphkiel5657 Sorry, I thought I'd replied to this already!
It's a problem I ran into after I'd been beatboxing for a few months. Have a couple of practice sessions where you very deliberately breathe out with your kicks and hi-hats, and breathe in on your inward snares. You may feel at first like you can't breathe - if this is the case, stop, catch your breath, then try again. After a while it'll become more natural :)
@Zaphkiel5657 Thats a good question, I too am a beatboxer, in my opinion i think u maybe doing something wrong but thts a maybe um im suggest u check out some more tutorials and see what u mite be doing wrong, if r if not then just keep doing what ur doing.
I Think the Hardest part to beatboxing so far is really to breathe, i thought i was doing great, hell i was doing some.. basic beats for about 3min then hate to breath, sometimes was about to breath outward but then i see this and realize i've been doing everything completely wrong, been working on this for 30min and 4 glasses of water later and still cant make an atual sound and breathe like i'm how to.
I've always beatboxed since I was like 6 or seven... (im 15 now) just like, whilst Im doing stuff. It was nothing like this though... the kick is bassy, starts in my throat and sounds like a heart beat.
I'll be using these most excellent videos to develop!
I'ts great you go featured on youtube- never would have found you without.

Is there just the inward K? What other inward sounds are there that are viable in routines.
I feel like I'm overusing the inward K in my routines.

Sometimes the air goes down my esophagus leading to a burp. Did you ever get that when you started out?
BipolarBeatBoxer 2 years ago 4
Nah I didn't, you need to make sure you're using your lungs.
