Just great. And for once, I have to say that I enjoyed the camera work. Usually clever camera angles and gimmicks leave me cold, but this is really neat. Anyone recognize the trombone soloist? I just know the names from the record sleeves. But this was one of Woody's best bands, IMHO.
it always amazes me how these guys get up there and improvise and it all sounds like it was written on the score. I hope one day i can do solos like that.
There should have been a studio audience applauding like crazy at the end. And let's hear it for Chuck Andrus on bass!

In my opinion the Herman Herd was a band that transitioned from BiG Band Swing into early progressive jazz idioms. It all worked for me.
