My son would have left there then by the time you went out..... so i don't suppose you know each other but you may have seen the sign he took with him where it shows KCC twinned with his school here.
I don't think i could go out there myself...but i'm very proud of my son, and you, and others for doing so
You might have meant Bishop Isaiah though from the next video? The tanzanian Bishop? He was there but we didn't have much to do with him as he's not a um, great person.
I think I know the sign you mean actually! Did he have anything to do with building the library?
What's your sons name? I got asked about all the mzungu (white people) who had every gone out there whilst there.
It is very humbling to visit these people and put our own lives into perspective as you say we take so many things for granted. This video wonderfully expressed your son's experiences in Tanzania and I feel privileged to have shared in his experience. The clothes are so vibrant in colour too!..and wide huge smiles :-) Thanks for sharing, Twish. Jacquie (UK) x
I was glad to see this one again, Twish - there were more things in it this time? The face of the little boy in red, looking up at the camera and smiling is wonderful. Your son is a treasure. I know you are proud - tell him I am too. - roc
Wow this was a wonderful thing you son did. I wonder where they get all the colorful fabric that they wear. I think it is great that they have it to brighten up there world there.
He has your smile! That is so cool. Look at them all raising their hands. I love that church. Smiling is so great! The world needs more people like your son. Beautiful pic at 5:58.
Your video and son inspired me to do a video! I'm just working on it so people don't get the wrong message but i guess it's going to be a good one! ;)
What a great and wonderful thing your son did! The pictures were terrific and the video at the end was so great to see! I'm sure you are really proud of him!!
Thankyou so much for sharing with us all this great video. It was truly amazing and I am sure you are very proud of your son for his work. Looking at those beautiful little faces smiling brightly and yet they literally have nothing certainly makes you realize just how materialistic we can be in the West and how we take something like water and food for granted. :)
You raised a good 'un there, gal! Bet you're very proud, and rightfully so! When you look at all those smiling faces, you can't help smiling yourself :-D
what an awesome blessing for him to be able to do that and for them to be able to receive such a great gift of love from him. thanks so much for sharing this with your youtube family Trish.

Such disparity is truly a bothersome thing. Then I read about a guy from London that placed an engagement ring in a balloon which escaped him in a gust of wind and now his fiancé to be won't speak to him until he buys her another ring.
You are so right, we are all spoiled and take so much for granted.
My son found that not being able to have a daily bath or shower was difficult, but much worse was eating breakfast knowing that the children at the school don't get a meal until the evening due to lack of funds :-(

The reason it is important to teach English in Tanzania (where Swahili itself is usually a second language for many of the inhabitants, but the Lingua Franca of East Africa), is because it has become the Lingua Franca of higher education in Tanzania. The people of Kibaya have so very few material items, yet they look as they live in joy.
