In 2002 he cryogenically froze himself for 11 years and was unfrozen in 2013. So as people know that in GTA4 it takes place in 2008 and there's a newspaper saying that all the previous characters are dead. So in 2013 Claude started working for other gangs. And that makes him the main character in GTA2.
