Dude, I'd recomend getting the encore prime.

I have the 20th anniversary one and it doesn't bring the trailer but in my opnion it's better, it's more representable, it brings a light-up Matrix, and most of it is die-cast.

The one you reviewed had almost, if not, the same color scheme as the original Diaclone version. Seeing that toy brought back a lot of memories. I had the second issue Prime with the sound box that went on the trailer. Sadly, I lost the hands and it all went to hell from there. I can't wait for it to come down in price so I can have him again.

This isn't even close to being worth the $70 price tag. Other than the coloring the mold is exactly the same as the Toys r' Us reissue, which retailed for $40. There was no effort made to make this special.Plus the stacks and missiles are relegated to "kid friendly" sizes.The encore version is at least accurate to the original. And even after the shipping it comes out to about the same price. Hell, you can afford an original in great shape for the price of this reissue.

My point is that this reissue should have been special. Fix the ratcheting leg mechanism so it doesn't ware out as fast, Maybe a new head sculpt, tinted blue windows, a post on the rifle so it can be held better. Hell, just make the eyes blue. But no, all they did is make the plastic and paint apps brighter, and throw in some marginal bells and whistles. Ultimately if someone wants this toy, they'll buy it. All I see is a Prime that the interns probably worked on for mass release,....

That's what all reissued Primes are good for though. You're asking a bit too much from a reissue that might be targeted to the older fans and few of the newer fans (hence the smokestack) Maybe it's not worth the $70 but lets look at it this way. If this is like any other toy, it's going to be a hard to find. Because you might not pay $70 for it others will, to either complete a set or for those who might have missed out. It doesn't change the fact that this still sells.
