y'know, i don't get how you think this is the saddest scene. and if you didn't notice, every single thing Kiba tried to protect, he almost failed to do so. he and all his friends died. why do you think he said: "i have nothing left to protect"? so what makes this one death so sad to you huh? c'mon, you gotta realize, having a friend die in your arms hurts, yeah. that i've got no complaint against. but to stand by, have your friends die and have it be a waste of time is way worse.

what I'm gettin from the ending is that all of them are reborn and the only one who remembers his former life as a wolf is Kiba... Explains why in the opening they just walk past each other like they don't know one another.

At the end when they are alive again they are going to meet up and do everything over again except the ending will be a little bit different. When they make it to paradise the world won't be reborn again.

I honestly wasn't sad at ALL when Cheza died because I found her so annoying. All she did was cry about everything and be weak and irritating. I was glad she died. Toboe,Tsume, Hige &Blue's deaths were all way sadder,I cried for them all. Wasn't really that sad about Kiba's death either,though sucks that he was the last thing on earth to die.

@Shadowlink3000GAIA In the 27th episode Toboe is shot by Darcia then in the 30th episode Darcia kills Hige, Blue and Tsume in his wolf form. This clip is after Darcia and Kiba's epic battle which ends in Cheza poisoning Darcia and his body exploding (thus the eyeball) then after Cheza dies Kiba dies...and then the world is reborn. End of anime. Is that explanation enough...?

Basically, Cheza chose him as the wolf to open a place called Paradise (which is for wolves only) but she gets taken away by a noble called Darcia who wants Paradise for himself. This scene's from the final episode, where Kiba and Darcia confront each other. Darcia is killed by his own selfishness, and...well, I think you know what happens next. Uhm, is there anything else you want me to explain...?
