We have 170 Leopard 2A6 HEL tanks in Greece and that's....cool.And about 183 Leopard 2A4s and 501 Leopard 1A5.The Leopard 2A6 though is the knight in shining armor,who will charge and smash the enemy waves as the other tanks follow.
Been tested the 2A6 is better than the M1 Abrams. Faster, more precise etc.
And you know what? It all depends on the crew.

The Germans have always designed excellent armored vehicles. Most US designs, such as the Abrams, are heavily inspired by German tanks. That's not to say that there wasn't a lot of ingenuity and intelligence by American engineers, but the basic designs are undoubtedly derived from German tanks. I do prefer the 2A6M to the Abrams when it comes to specs and performance, but I still think that the Abrams looks sexier.
There is no doubt the Leopard 2A6 is a fine tank against other Armored forces. The question yet to be answered is can the Leopard 2A6 survive in a urban battlefield/ or tight terrrain enviornment where the RPG and IED (courtesy of Iran) have claimed MBTs of the United States and Israel.
as a matter of fact yes, the leopard has a new upgrade, the leo 2A6M, it has much better belly armor under the tank, to withstand IEDs, and it also has a system that is similar to Iron Fist that deals with RPGs and other anti-tank weapons before they get close to the tank itself, (about 2-3m)
@krigertom already the A5 prove to be good against IEDs but the drivers chair isnt made for a ied impact (thats why the driver in de Danish A5 died) anyways the amour wasnt broken or penetrated. They changed the chair to a better one in the A6 & A6M canadians prove it :D
@god4488 aha, interesting. Didn`t know that. I hoped Norway could get one of those A6s or A5s insted of the A4s, it`s starting to get a bit old, but still its much better then haveing Leo 1s. So now all that remains is for Norway to buy more of them, as we do only have i think 36

well yeah the apache is a good attack helicopter, but you also need a good ground force too, like the Leopard 2A6 in you`re arsenal. But yeat its better then Norways tank number, Norway only has 14, but i think it has been planed to get 32 pices. I think maybe that Norway is the buyer of the tanks The Netherlands are selling

im just thinking that they dont bother selling them and instead just keep building thire armor force. But some countrys upgrads their A4`s as Denmark, they upgraded theirs to A5`s
