Silly Wizard "Live Again" - the remastered, repackaged, complete CD of the band's "Live In America" & "Golden, Golden" LPs is out!!! Available only direct from the band at sillywizard.co.uk
The Wizard in the picture are (clockwise from top left) Bob Thomas, Andy M. Stewart (singer), Phil Cunningham, Martin Hadden, John Cunningham (died 2008) and Gordon Jones.
I had the rare opertunity to play Bodhran with him and Manus Lunny up in St. Paul's "Halftime Rec" back in the late 80's. GREAT Musican and really nice guy!
Scary people: "The Northwest American Republic acknowledges that the state bears a special responsibility to protect and promote our racial cultural heritage, and remove all alien influences from our art, our music, our literature, our drama and our cinema. This must be done in order that the innate artistic and cultural genius of our people can define and express itself without interference from the current Judæo-liberal forces that have seized cultural hegemony throughout the Western world."
Hey, the more you look, the worse it gets:"SUPPORT THE EUROPEAN-ARYAN RACE'S ONLY HOPE IN THE WEST -- THE NORTHWEST HOMELAND". And who are "The Northwest Front"?
"We demand the establishment of an independent and sovereign republic in the Pacific Northwest, wherein only White persons shall reside or hold citizenship." Next post, I'll show you why this guy doesn't like stuff like the Beatles, and, I guess, all Jewish and black music.
Click on the blue writing, folks, and see where AryanScot says "ADOLF HITLER WAS A HERO TO MANY MILLIONS -- AND CONTINUES TO BE -- DON'T BELIEVE THE LIES. " I'm also a native of these British islands Mr Scot and I repudiate everything you seem to be standing for, but hope you'll change your mind. Shalom, brother: peace be unto you.
@AryanScot "musicians should not get involved in politics"? Because someone loves music they shouldn't express their political or social views? What arrogance! Because I love music I'm not to challenge hate politics? Not only do I disagree, I'd be very surprised indeed if Silly Wizard musicians, who you like so much, didn't also disagree strongly.
They'd probably appalled as me and other music lovers to read your thoughts on Nazism at AryanScot's Channel, found by clicking on AryanScot below
"She jest despises the ocean," Disko explained, "an' I - I dunno haow to act polite, I guess, er I'd thank you better."
"My father - my own eldest brother - two nephews - an' my second sister's man," she said, dropping her head on her hand. "Would you care fer any one that took all those?"
absolutely amazing.....as a lady who lives by the north sea....i have friends who have dads and sons, etc who work the sea to bring us a bit of grub....repect to them all for we do worry for their safe return....this song sums it up for us left onshore xx
I wish this was the type of music that was promoted and played on the radio instead of the made-for-profit americanized pap that's forced down our throat by the media.
@AryanScot i love it, and as a lady that lives by the sea, and has many friends dads n sons work the sea....this song is true....we worry everytime they go out there...but they have too xx and this song is great....coz it explains it all, and doesint desriminate against any one british, english, irish, scotish etc xx
@AryanScot I am an American who lives in Caifornia, USA. When I read your post--it confussed me--as I did *not* know that the music we produce is forced on others i.e. over the airwaves,on MTV, in music stores, etc.. It saddens me to read this as I agree that most of our music is indeed made-for-profit and mot worth listening to. :(
@xoxoirisheyesxoxo1 Well, it isn't played on ANY of the televised music channels, it isn't played by ANY of the radio stations (certainly not the mainstream ones) and it is almost NEVER mentioned on TV at all (not that i watch the electronic jew anymore).
In Scotland t is SO hard to find a Silly Wizard CD anywhere. Yet we can get Van Halen, Elvis, Beatles, and any of the other crap ANYWHERE at ANYTIME.
@AryanScot I like this, I like Silly Wizard, I'm VERY keen on traditional music, spending at least 4 or 5 nights most weeks either singing, dancing or playing - but I can't let you call Beatles "crap" without objecting strongly.
Ah... just noticed that "electronic jew" thing you said... and putting that together with you calling yourself ARYANScot I slowly realise you are probably a racist anti-semite, thus clinically insane and sociopathic...
Nice to see you hev not chosen a little shelve to pigeon hole me. It's true what is said, "musicians should not get involved in politics - they don't know what on earth they are talking about".
Yeah, American Media is a global commercial empire, that is slowly choking out other music genres. Even here in the US, its hard to find any folk music played anymore.
@AryanScot Try streaming live WUMB. It's a radio station out of Boston, MA that plays all folk. NPR out of Boston has a celtic music program every Saturday afternoon that is also streamed live. Celtic music also from 6-9pm on Wed nights on WRIU, streamed live. :-)
@AryanScot "Made-for-profit?" Yes, because none of the bands YOU like ever charged for concert tickets or sold records or hoped to make a profit in any way. Can we stop with the musical nostalgia, YouTube? I mean, I live in an American town of 300,000 people, and we have a radio station that plays this kind of stuff all the time. We are not living in a cultural wasteland just because we have to put up with that damned autotuner sometimes.
which of the wizards is singing this? i think its the obvious bottom wizard but my brother thinks its the (so called) wizard at the top, he's just been placed there to fool fools
@Gorikain actually celtic is irish, scottish, welsh, manx, britonand cornish. there are two groups of celtic languages brionic..welsh,brition and cornish...western celtic is irish and scottish .i am not sure which group manx falls into.
Я рад видеть людей от очень многих наций, которые любят эту красивую музыку! Спасибо за ваш пост! Между прочим, я - американец, и я не говорю на русском языке, к сожалению. Я использую переводчика.

I had a bootleg copy of this on a cassette that I wore out because I always rewound it to this gem. I have been looking for it for years. It's great to find it here. Thank you.
Ağaçlarca alınmış bir masalcının kendini uçuruma uğurlaması ( Taken By Trees- Sweet Child Of Mine )
Gökyüzü başımın üzerinde. Oysa ben ufku hiç göremedim. Hayatımı onunla bile bölemedim. Kime veda edeyim, nereye gideyim. Her köşe başından ben, çocuk, çıkıyorum.
I have loved this song since i first heard it. Since one of our first Highland games. Probly the late 80"s or early 90"s. Thanxk for the post ...nicely done
I have loved this song since I first heard it included on a tape an Australian trad-addicted friend made for me in 1988 or '89. Like Frankie Armstrong's modern compositions, it's strongly trad in its feel and concerned with exactly the same things faced by men and women, the same stories play out through the ages. Thus it's true and timeless.

@janvecera24 I don't think I'm able to put links here, so here are the lyrics of that song:
The fisherman's wife is now departed.
She crossed earth and stone to be free.
There was a bell that chimed through her window.
A single note that stayed with me
Just type in the first phrase in google with the "...", and put deadliest catch (fan) after it, you'll find a forum with the song and stuff :)

Да, это правда. Кельтская и татарская музыка имеют много общего. И та, и другая построены на пентатонике, поэтому многие мелодии кажутся похожими.

Bütün denizler tutunmaya çalıştı uçurumlara,
Ve simsiyah giyinmiş kadınlar bekledi onları dağlarda
ve ateşler yaktılar,
git diyeceklerdi ihtiyar balıkçıya
sakın geri dönme
Deniz çok şükür orda, yerinde kaldı.
Bu tebessüm bende
