  • perfect car mercedes

  • wow i love this w123...this car, well the motor still has alot of life! it sounds very good !

  • sounds like a tractor :D

  • They have a "Metrocab" taxi in Glasogw Transport museum, where after 1 MILLION miles, (1,6mill km) Ford asked if they could have the engine back (3.0L from memory) as they wanted to see what they had done so right . . . owner said NO THANKS to offer of a brand new engine. . . in that million miles it never had a breakdown, only regular servicing.

  • i whant this engine in all new cars!

  • ewwwww thats horrible sell the fucking thing !

  • there is no oil pressure...

  • @stexxvan The owner had disconnected and plugged the hose that goes to the indicator because it had a leak, engine had OK oil pressure

  • its barely worn in!

  • What's the idle on that hing? 100rpm?

  • bendix (sprzęgło rozrusznika)

  • 1:32 THAT DROP! FALL OFF ALREADY

  • Look at the accelerator paddle. It is completely worn out!

  • The best diesel engine !!!! My MB from 1981 240D; 650.000 km

  • omg i can just see those engine mounts allready.....

  • bendiks Qrde rozwalony

  • they don't make those engine anymore . i would pay million for this kind of engine . for my brand new 2011 passat

  • @drreik Mercedes-Benz W123 & W124 models used to have the best diesel engines (1M km was almost regular!) and after these models, Mercede resigned its policy of doing such durable cars (to be in line with new marketing trends of changing for newer & newer models). Nowodays instead of paying for good goods - one pays for marketing costs..

  • @drreik

Apart from a newer audi, I keep and old 25-year-old MB W124 TE with 2.3 gas engine - I simply don't want to sell it because it's a "cult car" :) Also in Germany there is a lot of such second-cars..people keep them for sentiment and every day wear & tear other cars..

  • @prycho or because i have finish economics department marketing . the reason why they don't make the same like this is simple .

one day they will come to our ''official service'' to pay money .

my friend who work at a company engine for VW more new is the car . more part in engine are plastic than older times was pure iron . they brake at specific km . this is configured from many engineers out there who are interdependent from big manufactured car.

  • This is THE ENGINE!

  • Thats just drived in

  • This is how a car should last !!!

  • YES SEXY AS FUCK I LIKE THIS OLD SHIT

  • As a man, I find this... surprisingly sexual...

  • my 240d has 100% comperession in -5c weather all i have to do is turn the iddle adjust up high, cycle my glow plugs 1 time and the engine turns over with out any use of the gas pedel any thing below that it hesitates a bit but wont stall or any thing

  • @aaronpourazar oh and it has 500,000KM plus on it

  • They live forever....those Mercedes diesels...No power no good on fuel...but they never miss a beat

  • typical benz sound. love it

  • sound like a perkinson engine

  • fuck

  • @Andre609 its not my vid mate i wouldnt own a fucken heap of shit like that id burn it

  • @kscorer2 Yes you are!

  • that car NEEEDS new bearings.... i dont care how cold it is xD... a car thats run THAT long cant have good bearings

  • You'll may change heater "spark" plugs, and fuel filters, dude!

  • We run a yr 1996 EU Honda Accord 2.0 petrol

455.000 Km so far, with no problems. Engine has never been taken apart! Compression and emissions still in top condition. Top speed and fuel consumption is the same as it was brand new. (We're 1st owners ever since. The trick is the regular service with OE parts.)

Thank you Rover factory in Swindon! :) And thank you Japanese engineer mates!

  • @Pesemate but thays a honda and toyota good shit

  • @kscorer2 fuck off hater

  • 1.2 million miles is just a break-in period for any diesel engine

  • Man, that thing is NOT happy.

  • damn, this thing's got stories to tell

  • Quality. I love that sound!

  • 1.2million km that's amazing! how many of those miles have you done? Here in the UK I'm impressed when I get into a VW or Toyota minicab/taxi that's done 250,000 miles = 400,000km. Is this car still going?

  • @mrcoogs86 It wasn't my car, I was just fixing it for some people I know. It's not on the road today, they choose to scrap it because of many problems with rust, suspension, overheating etc. But the engine still ran ok. Such a shame.

  • @kiarra00 ha ha ha hitler would be proud .........ha ha ha ha aaaahhhhh ha ha

  • @kscorer2 fuck off hater

  • @10yroldcarlover ha get fucked a mini has more style than this fuckin barge arse piece of shit and quicker go fuck your self

    carfucker

  • @kscorer2 Then again mini can barely do 500.000km ;) I have W123 300d merch that has driven little over 700.000 and then i needed to open the engine for the 1st time ever (Car has full service history since it had 3 owner's before me) Yes mini has more style but is it any better???No. Mini goes faster than merch?? Well certainly its faster than any of the older merch's but go agains't like SL65 etc that are pulling over 500hp ;)

  • @eskon12345 sl65's can get to about 2km before they need a $28952305865 service

  • @10yroldcarlover bullshit iridium plugs last 100 thou and oil change every 5 10 thou.bullshit!

  • @kscorer2 wow, i totally care

  • @eskon12345 mate i love v8 so fuck yeah would love any amg v8 even the straight six and the amg 2.5 go good but this is a flogged out heap of shit!

  • @kscorer2 somebody got their panties in a twist

  • @10yroldcarlover na im pissed its australia day fuck ya

  • @kiarra00 it is not running ok even for a cold start

  • @kiarra00 yes, good diesel engines can do that. Here in Germany there is an old Diesel Taxi from the 1930s that still runs after over 1 million kilometers. I doubt my Toyota will run that long :-D

  • @kiarra00

those are great engines, this situation is not strange. That engines were build to last and mercedes did wonderful job.

  • what a beast :D

  • takich samochodów już nie produkują....

  • @DrifterMr1 not any more :(

  • love it !!!!

    those engines never dies !!!!!!!

they ratle the shake but they runs without problems

  • That is the best Mercedes!

  • change the V-Belt, bro^^

  • It's not really working!

  • GERMAN POWER :D

  • you people on here need to appreciate a fuckin CLASSIC when you see one!

  • this car could survive the next ice age XD

  • klingt wie mein Güldner

  • @zoomer51 What car do you drive?

  • @kiarra00 E36 BMW 325i coupe

  • @zoomer51 Please post a video of it when it reaches 1,2 million KM with original engine, tranny, headgasket etc. Good luck!

  • @kiarra00 im not gonna put that much on it , just because you think i have somethin to prove ! im lucky enough that i found a E36 with a low milage , it had 62000 Km when i bought it 6 years ago , it now has 111000 , i use during the week ends only.. it's an authentic car that i love to drive, it's one of those last bmw's that got some real soul in it... my car is in a perfect conditions as well as the engine ! i just can't stand those tractor sound that any diesel car makes !

  • @kiarra00 I don't know under witch stone you came from butt these cars can really make it this far without replacing engine or transmission or even replacing the headgasket.

  • @sennahoj23 To be honest I think BMW is a good car, but head gasket is a known problem and I have seen many with broken head gasket even with low miles and not overheated, but the actual engine and trans are good, but it can't compare to and old Mercedes diesel like this one, they are indestructible

  • @zoomer51 im a bmw fan too, but why would you be a hater?

I apreciate this merc's engine, reliability, km.

  • @zoomer51 that's all they were but they'll outlast what you drive

  • @zoomer51 Prius owner? :)

  • @SebNormandy HAHA, I thought that at first too! lol

  • @kiarra00 lol

  • @zoomer51 You car will never make even a half of it mileage...

  • @zoomer51

it is a tractor engine, in small way

  • @zoomer51 go away BMW Fanboy!!!

  • @zoomer51 It's an old Straight 6 diesel, what did you expect?

  • @zoomer51 Try to make over 1,000,000 on ur car. Mercedes last forever

  • @zoomer51 brzmi paskudnie bo nie ma ssania, pokrętło od ssania jest złamane co widać na filmie. Pokrętło jest po lewej stronie kierownicy [PL]

  • Go, baby!

  • these engines are immortal

  • ahhh the good ol mercs. We had a w124 e220t, bought it new in 1994 (the last models to be made) and kept it until 2010 with only 284k km. Never had a single problem in its life. Even tought the last 4 years it was in Finland where cars age triple the speed and has to deal with weather being -20 - -30 celsius even in Helsinki. All mercs after this have shudy build quality and dont seem to have the same soul. Luckily we didnt purschase the E350cdi this year, but the A7 quattro.

  • well a benz dies slowly

  • 1.2 million ks is roughly 650,000 miles. Ave for a taxi .What makes Mercedes different is the fact they will do this mileage without major breakdowns.

  • soo 12000000 km so like 60xxx miles lol

  • @wtl1964 your wrong, 650,000

  • @10yroldcarlover I WAS KIDDING

  • @wtl1964 THATS AMAZING, YOU WON A GRAMMY

  • @10yroldcarlover naw anyone nowadays gets em except punk kid trolls like you...

  • @wtl1964 Im not a punk and i dont want a car that regularly gets driven by annoying arabs and chinese where i live

  • Za grosze takie w Niemczech po złomach stoją. 500 Euro i masz niezniszczalną maszynę w ładnym stanie.

  • i'd be more amazed if it didnt get to 1,000,000

  • @10yroldcarlover Good point!

  • @10yroldcarlover I have one 2.5TD W124 it has nearly 290.000km maintenance is done at Mercedes, works well but it was opened once @ 210.000km and now needs another fix... It's for sure a wonderfull machine to loose oil from every corner :D

I can say they are overrated, they last long, but they aren't such a marvel.

I drive one and I can say Mercedes is just as good as another brand. Sure they are safe and fun but we pay (and very well) that safety and fun...

  • @deserteagle1010 the new ones aren't good,

  • @10yroldcarlover It's from 1990 so I can't call it "new" hehe

But yes, the new ones are even worst...

  • they built cars to last until it dawned on them that they don't earn much money from it and so it is how it is now. the customer shall buy short-term running crap to fund the most important: return-on-investment. You can choose any company. my father never had problems with those old ones. but today, i mean, 3000 euros to replace a control device for the anti blocking system in an audi a6... are they nuts? now my father drives skoda, its the cheapest way to drive volkswagen spare parts :D

  • ok, THAT'S WHY i want a such a Mercedes !

  • yup, that sounds like it's got some kms on it..cool old beast

  • ндааа, пора ему на покой... 1.2 миллиона км - это уже всё....

  • Bendix do wymiany :] Mercedes to Mercedes

  • OM617 Best diesel engine ever made by MB !

  • OM617 Best diesel engine ever made by MB !

  • the dash looks incredible.did you reupholstered it?

  • @cyrusthevrus No, i didn't reupholster it, but maybe someone else did before I had the car.

  • @kiarra00 I see.

  • Replace your starter, you are grinding the fly wheel gear when you start it like that

  • beczka kle kle kle ;) marzenie ty moje :)

  • w123 power!! <3

  • beautiful song:)

  • They call this thing the Million miles car!

  • need a new starter my friend

  • i have one just like this a w123 300TD 5cyl diesel is has 593.672km on the meter sounds a litte better..but not that much diffence these W123 were the last mercedes build the old way later models stil have the good engines but rusted a bit faster..just my opinion

  • i still doub that it has that many miles on it seriously who drives that much

  • @skidpiggy doupt as much as you want, it used to be a taxi, they HAVE to drive that much

  • @kiarra00 Taxi's here easily get that many K's and coaches here are not uncommon to have 4 million plus kilometers!

  • @skidpiggy you probably scrap a car after 100000 miles, it might be OLD and USED then! or is it after it loses its new car smell?

  • @skidpiggy yep maybe not in america or canada but go to europe and the average mercedes has 500,000km.. the reliability bullshit you hear from honda and toyota is only in north america. If you want a reliable car in europe its a mercedes. They are used as taxis so they obviously are reliable.

  • @sranjesuper yeh true i guess i didnt think...but toyota are pretty damn good.

  • @skidpiggy yeah their engines last long.. i work at a body/mechanic shop so i can see what comes in and stuff.. most jap cars are horrible for rusting.. nissans are the worst... we get the recalls from nissan and fix the rust issues on certain models.... but yea europe most people drive diesel too.. its a whole different world there.

  • @sranjesuper Yep mercedes is reliable , my brother had a 220D from '72 with 600.000km on it . But the new mercedeses from today with CDI engine's are not that reliable anymore ... My father had a mercedes from the ninetees and after 120.000Km the high pressure pump was giving up . Now that's an expensive joke .

  • @skidpiggy

You obviously do not know your Mercedes-Benz's well [specifically the W124 and W123 chassis']. These vehicles, especially the OM-engines/diesel engines, were built to last a LONG time, way BEYOND 1,000,000 km or even 1,000,000 miles. The W124 and W123 diesel taxis often have high mileage because they are driven far on a daily basis.

  • @skidpiggy If you live in a city, 1 000 000 kms may sound like a lot, but if you live in the country - those kms tick away much faster than you like them to. Here in Värmland, Sweden the distances are vast so vehicles with a million kilometers on the "clock", are not unheard of here. Taxi cars run around the clock all year, so they get to the million kilometer mark rather quickly. It normally takes 3 - 4 years.

  • @skidpiggy

There are old mercs that have 2 million kilometers on it.

those old series are very reliable and alsmost undistructable

  • @skidpiggy It's kilometres not miles.

  • i 'm curious to see how much blowby there is on this engine with the pcv system no pluged

do you think you could fim it ?

  • @michaelovitch sorry, I don't have this car anymore

  • Clean engine it sounds dirty

  • Oops.... Idle is too slow, not "too low" ....:D

  • Some gas won't kill this engine but idle is too low.

  • Rebuild the engine, give it a new lease on life!

  • some injection pump advance issues

  • Anlasser im Arsch

  • just get the injectors and glow plugs rebuilt and fix that power steering pump.... either add fluid or tighten the belt.. and get a new air filter and do oil changes often and that car will go for another mill

  • Got my 78 300d today with 224000 km , technical perfect, but body very rusty;(

That thing sounds like its living wow

  • @speedcorematik should check out mine.... probably in about the same condition as yours

  • the engine has 1.2 miljon miles, en you giff gas you idiot , the engine is cold , en you giff gas , you kills the engine , idiot

  • @yusufmpower Don't call me idiot, you're the idiot! The car has 1,2 million KM, not miles! Of course I don't kill the engine by giving some gas, it's a mercedes! And by the way, the only word you knew how to type was idiot, that's probably because you are an idiot!

  • @kiarra00 1.2 miljon km , en you giff with cold engine, gasss , that is not good , 1.2 miljon km has the engine, en you giff cold engine gass , that is not good , for the engine

  • @yusufmpower The high milage doesen't matter! an engine can be just as worn after 200 000KM. I know that it's not good to rev a diesel right after starting it, but it had been running normal for some time before I did it, so the water and oil had some temperature, so what I did didn't do any damage, I know what i'm doing, I'am a car mechanic!

  • @kiarra00 By giving it gas you will kill it, it's a diesel... Idiot

  • @XFace13 First of all: don't call me an idiot, it's very childish! And second: "by giving it gas you will kill it, it's a diesel". Have you ever seen a car??? It's not hard at all for a diesel engine to run at high rpm, as long as you don't rev it max for long periods. These OM617 engines can be revved to 5200 rpm, I was only doing half of that in this video, not hard at all!!, it's actually harder for them to run at idle, because they don't run as smooth then!

  • @kiarra00 its says up in the header KM which means Kilometers

  • @aaronpourazar Yes, i know. Did I say something else?

  • @kiarra00 yeah lol

  • @yusufmpower why do you have to be so rude??

  • @yusufmpower learn some proper grammar and spelling before you run your mouth retard.

  • on tired engines, i find bumping up the idle speed by like 200rpm helps them stay a little more smooth.

  • sounds like that things got alot a miles lol knockin like a mutha fucka i thought u were gunna through a rod hahah

  • @xxpontiac00xx Thats the sound of a cold diesel that probably could use an injector cleaning/servicing. When injectors get dirty on some diesels, they make the engine sound like they are knocking.

  • @The5chwarrz

its a diesel.... all diesels knock.... but ya rebuilt injectors would help this thing a lot

  • what year is that 300TD ?

  • it's an '84
