@keithsa41 Thanks very much...Long term unemployment has seen most of the guitars go but I will always keep and like best my old Stratocaster that I've had for 42 years...It's just so 'me' if you know what I mean
@lighteningboy Now that is a compliment I really do appreciate .Tone, vibrato and note choice are the things for me, and the things that allow different players to sound different and be characterful. Thanks so much
@chatter4500 Thanks so much.I've owned a few Telecasters down the years and a JV '62 Custom reissue and this one are the ones I miss most. You'll love it.

@chrismortloch92 ...I'm not sure how I would go about proving something even if I wanted to..hahaha.I am so obviously just an old bloke at home :-)...Thanks so much for your very kind comment.
I hate to hear folks tell me they hate reading---lets me know they aren't really intelligent in most cases---but you have the stuff of plenty good knowledge--BOOKS!

I see you like books too--cool---I've got a lot of books myself--a lot of the classics--and I've owned 66 guitars--mostly bought from pawnshops and ones my dad bought me over the years--all gone (Regrettably) except one acoustic I bought several months ago--a Yamaha FG 700s
@themanfromwem ...You are too kind. Thanks ever so much...Your name reminds me of the first giggable amp I ever owned back in 1971ish.After my little Bird practice amp I bought a WEM GR60 and WEM 2x12.This was in the days when WEM were providing PAs at virtually every gig you went to....I wish I'd known then what I know now.I'd have saved a little longer and looked out for a Deluxe Reverb...lol
@fendermac What an excellent comment, I live in WEM in Shtopshire, near to the railway station, and after 40 or 50 years off the guitar, am trying to play again on my leftie Tele, Hurts your fingers for a week or so, excellent, yours, Howard

Hi Paul, thanks very much for the advice about amps. I have to say that it is your phrasing and hot licks that really make the slow blues in G stand out, just the tone is so good too. Grac.
I hope you dont mind me pursuing a little more. Is the boogie a 85w combo, or a head and cab? Boogies are hard to find and expensive here. What other amps might be able to get that smooth silky sound with a tele? grac
@gracnow ..No problem. If you search 'hardwood' in my uploads you can see the amp better. It's an old style narrow bodied 85watt combo.Tone is more difficult to talk about. An amp with master volume and a middle control should work I think - Marshall,Blackstar ...there are many brands that would give you a good sound. There are also many many highish gain pedals which could sound great through an uninspiring clean amp
@dennisperremans ...Thank you kindly....Interestingly the last person to comment didn't like the sound at all but he didn't seem to mind the playing..Lol
Your guitar playing is much better than that tone. There is something about the breaking point in your amp that flattens the tone. The "wolfy sound" ....it sounds blaring. Even the quiet passages retain that character which undermines the ability to modulate the emotion conveyed.
Hi I was thinking of getting one of these guitars, is the sound and build quality as good as other fenders you have played and Is it worth spending £800 on it?
could you do me a favor and tell me what the difference is with a road worn 50's tele, and a classic 50's tele? I love this sound but don't like the worn spots.
Nice playin'! I already have the RW 60s Strat in Olympic White, but the local small town music shop still has a sunburst RW Tele that's calling me- it's the necks that get me. I played it and then played a brand new American Tele that was probably twice the price- no comparison, the RW was just so comfortable and sounded great.
@Bottomtime ...Thanks very much...and yes! of course there is.If you realise early that you'll always be yourself you can acheive a lot and have great fun.You won't be (insert famous name here) of course but who needs that.Go for it say I
@Bottomtime Good luck if you want to try this : it 'll take you at least some 20 years.
fendermac seems to play effordlesly but has great techniques; harmonics, stops, muting notes, bending, slides and what not...Not to mention knowledge of mixing scales, phrasing and last but not least creativity...Keep me posted anyhow!
@mymindisclearernow ....Wow! Thanks for those kind words about me.I do think that anyone who feels moved to play should be encouraged to start though and I firmly believe that it's never too late.I hope Bottomtime will go with his inclinations and keep us both posted.
@mymindisclearernow - It doesn't take 20 years to play like this. It is wonderful playing, mature beautiful lines. If you listening to playing like this and develop your ear and playing around it you will be able to play incrediably well in a few years.

Whew, that was nice. Your playing reminds me of a Nashville area blues guitarist named Jack Pearson. He has some YouTube videos up if you search under his name.

@1Doz ..I don't hear me in him but thanks - he's great.I don't really get the soft v thing. The neck is a nice handful and the best thing is the lack of finish on the back. You must try one.
Yes it depends on which video and which song he's playing. If he's doing a slow blues with straightforward blues licks, I think I hear a resemblance. If he's doing his warp speed chromatic and jazz stuff, less so. There's about a minute in your video, from 2:44 to 3:44 or so, that is to my ears very reminiscent of Pearson in slow burn mode.
@fendermac yeah the guys a douchebag, you're one hell of a player man. I do this all the time just jamming to blues tracks. I need to get around to uploading the only stuff I have is ages old that I found kicking around the comp and decided to upload for fun, keep on rocking
