the worst thing is they are being decimated by a facial tumour disease that has wiped out nearly 90% of the wild population. an amazing marsupial, not the savage beast they are believed to be they are actually very shy and feed mostly on dead animals and roadkill. there are several organisations taking donations to help save this beautiful, misunderstood creature, please donate because a world without the tasmanian devil will be a sad place indeed.

that is so amazing really ...I have watched a couple of documentaries about Taz devils and they said just because they have this angry voice and they bite hard it doesn't mean they are bad ,they are very insecure and get frightened easily and they may bite and also they don't want to share their food !they are very interesting to watch no matter what ...

too bad these unique animals are in danger of extinction because of contagious cancer ..I hope scientists can save them

I noticed it was snowing. Do devils hibernate? Obviously not always, as he was kissing a very awake devil! But how do they find food in deep snow? Does it snow in Tasmania at higher elevations?

No in fact tasmanian devils communicate like that. It's just that people confuse their sounds with something angry. I mean it really sounds like, but it doesn't always express anger.

It's nice to hear that someone is concerned about the devil....

but really you don't know this devil, called Myalla, she would sleep with me, claim me as hers and fight off other devils while I slept.

You are right, just cause I'm bigger doesn't mean she likes me, and most devils would run and hide. Myalla was different, she would run up to me, she liked the contact (as well as the food I had for her) if she didn't like it she would bite for sure.
