yep, looks a lot like the station where I got my start in SC.. I can almost smell that mix of vinyl and plastic that lets you know you are in a radio station..
I like that blue National shortwave receiver on that rack. Always wanted to noodle around with one of them. Only piece of National equipment I have is an NC66 portable.
If you remember my WELC video, they also broadcast on AM 1150. At 1:19 , the music playing sounds far different from the Ralph Stanley style to me. lol
Thanks! There is a station with old jazz and big band music in Bainbridge, Ohio (WHKR 91.5 FM) that I think still uses vinyl records sometimes. I listen to them on the internet.
I recently bought a blank 8 track with country music recorded off the radio in 1978 as well (I dated some of the music; it ranges from '73 to '78), but all the commercials and the DJ were cut out. You just get a second or two of the DJ before it cuts out. There's nothing but music on it.
I listen to it all the time. And I love how the tape is labeled "Country- Modern" and it's got music from the '70s on it hehe

Ah the good old days of small independent radio stations. That was a much better way of doing things.

Neat. The good old days when AM radio Execs knew how to program entertaining material

Someone probably did listen to these stations in the '78 Grand Marquis! I don't think it has ever left this area.

Yes, I think due to automation most radio and TV stations don't sign off anymore.

The 1978 DJ clip actually came from a cassette I got at a garage sale! I always like when the old DJ's and commercials are still there.
