I HATED Inglourious bastards. Wiping out Nazi's? fine. Most of the people they killed were not Nazi's - they were typical German soldiers (or "wehrmacht" if you will) who were doing as they were told and fighting for their country. The part when that big American beats on one of the Wehrmacht with a baseball bat because he wont give up his fellow soldiers positions? Made me fucking sick. He was a soldier sticking up for his countrymen. He was NOT a Nazi. Hated it. From start to finish.

It was schizophrenic as hell, most of the dialogue was utterly redundant and the whole movie just felt pointless.

Were soldiers they killed in the beginning wearing Swastikas? No. And only the SS officer, SS soldiers WERE nazis, was wearing a Swastika in the bar scene where everyone died. Once again Nazi, short for National Socialist, was a political party, which not everyone in Germany was a member of.

And "For Bob's sake" is a reference from the works of Douglas Adams.

Everyone in the German army was not a nazi. IN FACT, Wehrmacht soldiers were not allowed to be party members, or even vote in elections. Though I suppose some of them had nazis sympathies, the only true nazi soldiers were in the SS.

And yes I have seen the Nuremberg videos of the soldiers carrying swastika banners. You also have to remember at the time it was no longer the symbol for just the nazi party, but it was also made the national flag. Not just a symbol of political affiliation.

I love Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs but I thought that Inglourious Basterds was ok.

The dialogue was good but unlike Reservoir Dogs and pulp fiction it just was not as much fun to listen too most of the time. Sometimes even this dialogue could get to long. Tension gets really old when taking to long to hit the end result; could have used some editing. Christoph Waltz was really good in his role. The ending could have been better too.

This was a good movie but Reservoir Dogs & Pulp Fiction will always be Tarantino's untouchable masterpieces.

The closest he ever came to that was with Kill Bill Part 2.

Basterdz takes more of a Jackie Brown approach which is actually quirky & thrilling the audience occasionally.

Overall, Basterdz shouldn't be rated that high but it was good.

Jerry and i waited 3 and a half hours to watch this movie it was so worth the fucking wait, eli roth was wonderful. The dialogue was classic tarantino. I was not let down by this film at all. The scene when roth smashes the nazi with the baseball bat was incredibly funny (although jerry and i were the only people who laughed strangely enough)

Heh, glad to hear another favorable review of this movie. The Spoony One gave another really good review too, and seeing two reviewers I respect praise this film has me sold.

As for nazi's, yeah, they suck and no remorse for their death should be made. Funny insult story. A friend once jokingly called me a bastard. I told him I'd rather be a bastard than a Nazi, because at least a bastard knew he had a mom and dad. Hence, the Nazi Bastard insult was born. Good times...
