  • lol, why would black put white square bishop in that position? Very premature move and useless, lol

  • why f3, if you can do Nc3?

  • @chessleach Hi! If you want to get the knight on e4, you would have to attack the knight with a piece which has less value. And the only piece which has less value as a knight, is a pawn. I calculated with Rybka 4. And if you would play Nc3, the piece isn´t won, because black can just play something like Qb4 and it´s fine. The following continuation would be: 1. Nxe4 dxe4 2. Rxe4 Qxb2 and all is fine for black!

  • Great Puzzle!!

  • If Bxe7, would that be also good?

  • Should one study to become a good positional chessplayer or a good tactical chess player and why?

  • both

  • Thank you for the response.

  • nice job! keep up the good work.

this one is heading to my favorite list

  • I'm the first one to favorite this!

  • Thanks!

  • yeah but 1 knight doesnt counter 2 pawns in the late game -_-

  • There are still alot of pieces on the board besides a Knight and 2 Pawns. Also Black's pawns are not very far advanced. So, White has the advantage. I posted some chess engine vs chess engine games to illustrate. See chesspuzzlebook dot com/book2game1/book2game1cont.htm

  • yes but he has got doubled pawns
