I think the song is about a guy that is in love with a girl and this girl doesn't know he is thus the title of the song. He cannot be himself when he is around her and seems to act differently ("It's hard to stay cool When you smile at me" "And I get nervous every time you speak"). He wants her to give him a sign because he cannot read her mind. He longs for the day he will be with someone and the empty space on his bed can be filled with the one he loves.
