I suppose these guys are good at what they do. But, what they do is conjure up a bunch of noise without too much musical skill. I mean there's a certain powerful feel that emmits from the rawness of their approach and attitude. It's just there's so many talented musicians with more imagination and skill and these are the guys making money? I guess people can relate to the garagy sound when presented in a bit tighter fashion, without having to understand something that goes over their head.

@fouryearbeard I checked a few songs from The Bad Seeds, and as I said before, they're pretty good at what they do, just what they do doesn't impress me that much. I don't deny that it has artistic value and raw power even when getting noisy like on this tune, but it's just not my cup of tea. I'd rather feel some deep pocket groove with some greasy and jazzy interactions, rhythmic layering with more inventive melodies. I admit I'm not familiar and maybe it's an aquired taste, but there's better.

I didn't mean technical melodic shredders like Yngwie, but more in terms of band interaction and feel, for example: type the band Galactic and songs Crazyhorse Mongoose, Funky Bird for instrumentals or with vocals, Something's Wrong With This Picture, Everybody Wants Some. I checked out Morphine; they were cool!

Grindermans album is fantastic, from simple driving basslines, youthful lyrics with nick caves loving humour and some more serious stuff. All I can say is listen to murder ballads, then listen to grinderman and you will see a grand difference in what you call a tone deaf man and a hard working musician
