  • Now that is what a bike should sound like!!!!! Beautiful!!!!

  • When sex was safe and motorbikes were dangerous...

  • those old honda inline six gp bikes , are sounding so good ! the brm v16 of the gp bikes in my opinion :P

  • like it if someone could make a copy to sell to the public.how hard could that be its 2011. my 350cc 4cyl bike honda made is the closest to these maybe i should fix it up sometime

  • @ragytagful As Flamorqan said, George Beale made a few copies. If you ever read his account (think it was covered in MCN) you may be suprised to find out that he found it pretty hard! The Honda engineers had gone to some pretty exotic lengths. I think Beale had some work done by Renault Formula 1 engineers and they were amazed at what they found in the original engine.

  • what a sound.......love it........

  • This is my fav 4t bike, but the ´76 TZ750R my fav 2T is there other bikes?...yes I know, there are more bikes but only 2 true bikers...Mike the bike and Kenny Roberts Sr.

  • never before or since has a racing motocycle sounded so spine tingling and beutiful the way that honda was enginered and went in the 1960s was amazing...stick all ya two stoke girley shit .being a biker from the 1970s i recken im qualified to say.....wind up that rc166 heaven on earth wish i could see one in the fleash hux

  • Should he be opening the throttle like that on a cold start?

  • @neilious01 The bike was warmed up thoroughly in the pits. They always started from a push start in the actual races with the engine pre-warmed by the mechanics. This engine has no flywheel and is difficult to keep idling. In fact they have no idle circuit in the carburetors. They never had a warm-up lap nor clutch starts.

  • a taste of Honda in its golden period to hold back the dreaded two strokes, wonderful sound

  • ça résume tout: la technologie du 6 cylindres, l'envoutement du son et la classe pour piloter dés le démarrage.

je n'ai pas connu cette époque, mais la moto ce n'était certainement pas "moins bien avant"

  • I've stood behind this bike, whilst they revved the pips off it. Bloody amazing! Moto GP bikes don't even come close.

  • What three total dickheads gave this a thums down???

They must be blind and deaf..

  • 500cc ?

  • @supertti 250cc ;-) O_O

  • music!!!!

  • Schrill, geil, überirdisch: will ich haben!!!

  • WOW. F.A.S.T

  • This is what it sounds like when God talks!

  • Jaw dropping.... that's all there is to it.

  • THe best sound ever!!!

  • its beautiful!!!

  • WHAT A FANTASTIC NOISE..! the down change .... wow.

    thanks for posting

  • yea i agree the best sounding bike of all time.

  • thank you for posting this great video

  • NIce sound when changing gear at sec 0.17

  • don't compare an Opel with the six :D

  • Not many realise that Honda San was the descendant of a Samurai Katana Master. When the Samurai culture crumbled the locals put the hated Samurai to the sword. Those who could, fled, and hid deep. The Katana Masters became simple village blacksmiths, but kept their secrets of metallurgy alive. Honda used these secrets to make his piston-rings, then the fabulous racing-bikes. He used the best Swedish steels, but also used Katana knowledge to alter their structure, as he did the Australian alloy

  • 0:20 and onwards the deceleration sounds so sexy

  • The sounds of all these classic 60's machines are on the Duke video, History of the Isle of Man TT. There is also a great video called Multi Cylinder Magic which features all the bikes of Team Obsolete. These include Honda 250 6, MV 350 four, 500 triple and Benelli 250 four. My favourite is the 250 6 but the the 5 cylinder Honda 125 sounds incredible as well. The 50cc Honda twin revved to 22,000 rpm. Moto GP sounds good but these bikes from the 60's sound much better.

  • What a sound! A relic from a golden era of GP racing. Interest in the small bore classes has never been the same since.

  • Legendary

  • yeah.. exactly .. this 1 Word ;D

  • I want one so freakin bad, bah

  • that sound is awesomely wicked...love it!

  • 4 STROKE!

  • Right you are!...6 cylinder/250cc..about 60bhp @ 18,000 rpm...150mph and only 260 lbs. Honda always had it's shit in one sock, still does.

  • two-stroke? i mena i thought the old honda sixes like that were, i'm very confused right now

  • Honda never made 2 strokes racing machines

  • what about NSR?

  • Yes they did, what about the NSR?

  • Could you give me back a brief description of a NSR ?

  • Wayne Gardner and Mick Doohan won 8 World championships between them on V4cylinder 500 cc two strokes. Honda also had a 500 cc 3 before that and that was ridden in world championships during the 80's by Ron Haslam and other riders. It also won the isle of Man senior race ridden by Joey Dunlop. The 250 class was dominated by Honda 2 stroke twins for several years. Also the RS 125 was a competitive 125 2 stroke for many years. 125, 250 and 500 2 stroke motocrossers won world championships.

  • they made 6 stroke racing machines

  • You seem not to know what a stroke is.

  • it was a joke, and I know how to stroke it

  • yeah no shit, not only can't you spell but you can't read either

  • you obviously didn't read any other comments that were made before you said something about me saying 6 stroke, and then you started to tell me about two strokes and four strokes, do you live in the country, I bet you do, dial up takes so long to load the page doesn't it

  • thats the funny part though it wasn't a mistake when I said they made 6 stroke racing machines, it was a joke, and you came into the middle of something because you saw a comment and didn't bother to read any other commens associated with it. Anyone can tell your an immature teenager still wet behind the ears.

  • thats not the point, you jumped in a conversation without reading the whole thing first, so go back and look at all the ignorant comments you made, if you notice the first guy who said something about it let it go after I said I was joking

  • So you must be a completely ass hole??

    don't even respond to this..

i will not read ore respond if you decide to leave another stupid comment.

    PEACE!

  • Whatever fuck face,

i will not read ore respond if you decide to leave another stupid comment.

  • 'First stone' applies here mate! You slag off this guy's spelling(!) then spell 'or' with an e - whoops! lol

  • whoopsies, it was a funny conversation

  • Oh, go on then - just this once I'll let you off! lol

  • Yes, Honda did. The first bikes Soichiro made were 2 strokes. He wasn't thrilled with them so he went to four bangers. He went to 6 cylinders, such as this bike, to keep up the two-strokes. CR250, EXP-2 (400cc), NSR500, RS-85, RS 250 (as featured in the crap movie "The Brown Bunny") are proven 2 stroke race bikes from the 1970s on.

  • i absolutely love that pure sound...nothing like it around today...no more REAL bikes like that one...= /

  • lucky my dad... i would like to have the same age, at least i could have a chance to see those bike racing... great music, i can not call this a noise.... great old timers!!

  • MEI COJONI!!!!

  • mn broertje zit met de vingers in zn oren te luistern XD

  • Oh! good sound.

    It nears to tears.

  • WATA SOUND!

  • eh...thats not a water cooled, just a massive oil radiator. but it puts a smile on my face as well when i ride my CBX, the next generation of this. same guy who designed these did the CBX to spice up honda's road lineup. kudos.

  • what an amazing sound that bike has! outs a big smile on my face everytime i hear that engine! the good old days!

  • Damn economics......

Wish they could build a production bike that sounds like that today!!!

  • it seems to be an "oil cooler" don't u think?

  • Please see comment a little lower down.

  • the last man can run he do not catch him

  • Love the sound, there is nothing like it! But correct me if i'm wrong, this is a replica isn't it? The original was air cooled not water cooled (like this one), correct?

  • THIS IS ORIGINAL!

  • It does look like a 'slosher' (Water Cooled)doesn't it? And yes, you're right, the original was a transverse 6, DOHC AIR COOLED engine. :-)

  • Glad I wasn't being stupid... Although as someone a little further up proposed it could be an 'oil cooler.' Having said that I looked at original photos off of the web and none of those bikes have an oil cooler there...

  • A guy my mate knows did a lot of work on these replica motors for another guy named George Beale in the UK. I think that the bikes are actually run by an American set-up. Still and all, they still sound pretty demonic, don't they! :-)

  • The sixes did in fact have two oil coolers one on each side buried in the leading edge of the fairing.

The original 250cc six that was raced at Monza by Jim Redman in 1964 did not have them

& subsequently overheated & allowed Phil Read & Yamaha to win the 250cc crown, I seem to remember that the oil coolers were incorporated for the (next) last race of the season at the Japanese GP which Redman on the new six won.

  • I will sleep better tonight after hearing the Honda 250 6 cylinder, sweet dreams.

  • I have a 250/4 Honda Replica, it looks and sounds as good as this!! awesome.! I started it up in a motorcycle showroom, the Manager asked me too.! He nearly fainted...his Receptionist did.! Mechanic rushed in, tears in his eyes... he thought he was dreaming. What noisy old motorcycles do to grown men....

  • wat a sound

  • music to your ears

  • best sound ever

  • Niesamowite!pięknie brzmi i zbiera sie na obroty !
