  • thanks, Matt! loved your very informative review!

  • @53:00 I was BULLSHIT, then i saw that it was a ford gt, im like ok that makes sense lol

  • Hey smokingtire, you're a very good reviewer!

  • I bought the 2012 about a month ago, I was on the fence but your review put me over the fence. great car, I'm getting much better real world driving, fits my co workers in the back and no one complains.

  • just got mines love it

  • america: cup holder

    japan: sushi holder

  • I'VE NEVER SEEN CRUSTIER ELBOWS 4:17

  • These cars are awesome!! I have a 2008 Honda Fit Sport that I have put 225000 miles of hard driving on. Carrying heavy cargo, aggressive city driving, etc. Never had any major issues! Have only replaced 3 coils and one rotor. Let me see a Fiesta beat that! Buying another new one when tax return comes in

  • so rad!!!!!

  • i feel the same way that you do at 3:50 in my protege, with me in it its nice and quick, with my fat ass and my fat friends, it might as well be a 1.0l, great car though i like it a lot

  • These cars are ugly as shit.

  • forgot to mention resale value. I've lost big time on ford resale while honda holds value much better. great vid.

  • 1.6L 4 cylinder?

    Nope, it's a 1.5L^^

  • Why so many poles in this race track?

  • The Fit is an awesome car. I have a 2010 White Sport with Auto. It is definitively much better than the Fiesta, Yaris, Versa, and most other cars out there. This guy is wrong on the fuel efficiency numbers, I can get 37 mph easy on my fit of combined city and highway on mean streets of New Jersey

  • im a huge honda fan and i was wondering do you do reviews f older cars? and can you do the new civic Si?

  • My fit has been the most perfect car.

  • this was a really good review!

  • that fit is OK since my girl has one it drives smooth but i still prefer my accord

  • i love my honda fit , so much fun and fit so many different random things in it lol

  • honda should REALLY offer the following trims:

DX: equipped with the base 117hp engine and trim ($15K)

LX: with the sport trim ($17K)

EX: sport trim + 140hp engine ($19K, or the same price as the fit sport w/ navi, making the navi an optional package for $2K, not a trim level)

    EV: electric

    ... and a 170hp FIT Si trim (for $22K)

Roughly the same size as the '05 Civic Si, more affordable than the VW GTI, and make Honda a competitor as a hot hatch segment, with cars like the ford fiesta st

    LIKE?

  • @theautojournal i agree there needs to be a trim with increased horsepower

  • @theautojournal dude, any higher hp and the fit is nullified as economical. Unless, of course, you add an overdrive/6th gear.

  • would this be better than a kia rio sx?? there like about the same price right?

  • @Sirimico They're both really good options. Just depends on what you prefer. Something versatile and fun to drive or something a bit bigger and with a lot more features. I'd drive both and see which one you like better. Either way, you can't go wrong with either

  • i love honda fit

  • Thank you thank you for reviewing the manual transmission! I'm a stick guy. I'm having a hard time finding a stick to test drive however.

  • If it's Honda it has to be good.to me,Honda is the best car on the road.

  • I've had my fit sport for 3 years now and it has yet to disappoint! I've gotten over 40 mpg highway many times. Plus the rear seat folds up as well, had a 55" tv in the back no problem. The back seats also recline which is the tits on long drives. The fiesta is tiny inside by comparison.

  • I've heard the Fit naturally oversteers a little bit. I haven't looked at the specs, but I suspect that the anit-sway bar is a bit large and stiff since the roof is a little higher than most cars....

  • May i ask you what is your everyday driver car?

  • "but thats ok cause i like ro rev out 4 cylinder engines" haha my man i love it

  • EVO

  • I've been looking for a commuter that can carry a bunch of boxes in a pinch, and be able to seat 4 adults if need be. This looks like it can do both and still get decent mileage doing it. It's on my short list. Good review!

  • Most people drive automatic transmission. When that comes into play, you have to choose the Fit over the Fiesta. Just google Fiesta transmission problem.

  • @TheCoolfez This car with M/T is a blast to drive. 1st gear sucks, but you can rev the ever loving crap out of 2nd 3rd and 4th gear!

  • Hey Matt, how doe this car Compare to the Toyota Yaris? Also how's the handling?

  • @didafm he did a a test drive for fiesta where he drove the fit and the yaris as well. Go check that out. He says the Yaris is literally a joke.

  • I love it for what it is. For me to buy this car its needs a facelift and more hp

  • Have 2012 sport i like i buy one here in PR

  • i hate this car

  • Comment removed

  • i spy 2 evo's :)

  • Honda or Ford?? Resale, resale, resale.!! Honda wins everytime.

  • great review! im in the market for a small, 4 door, hatchback... great information in the is video!

  • Matt, what the hell kinda shoes are you wearing?!?! i think chuck taylors would suit you better. that intro fooled me when the car was doing a burn out, thought it was the fit but it was the ford gt. great review once again.

  • evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo evo

  • @thirdecholon the hell man? it aint even a hatchback, and its pricey.

  • @BazingaBubbleAcid not the evo 9

  • @thirdecholon but it's not fuel efficient.

  • @thirdecholon The Evo is in a completely different category, its costs more then twice as much as the Fit and has almost three times the HP, the Fit is, as he said, an economy commuter car. Its meant to get good gas mileage and utility with a dash of "fun to drive".

  • @NeoGee there is an Evo hidden in this video and i wanted to point it out. 4:48

  • @thirdecholon Ok, but you didn't really lol, you just said "evo evo evo" so pardon me (and the other guy) for being a tad confused. :D

  • Great looking car, the host dose a great job also.

  • pretty much the only guy I like The Car show

  • I have this car, AT. I fucking love it! best car I've ever owned. its fun to drive, and its pretty fuckin fast. the only complaints is that the plastics inside are a little cheap, but it works. overall its a GOOD CAR!

  • I like it, it looks great dropped with a nice set of rims as well.

  • so these were only stock tires??? I live in the snow during the winter, will this car be good???

  • Its kinda on the ugly side, but it seems like a good, cheap economy car. Really good review.

  • Just signed up for one, will be at the dealership next week, cant wait!

  • Great review!

  • @TNguyen159 Thanks, my friend drives a Mercedes why my dad drives the the Honda Accord, I thought that Hondas wouldn't have the stable-ness of what a Mercedes would have? :D

  • Also, can someone tell me if this is really smooth to drive in?

  • DUDE THIS GUY IS SO GOOD.

  • I got mine in 09 but is the same as the 11. Shouldnt it be the hybrid for 11? Or did I miss out the diff.

  • I love the Honda Fit

  • Good review. I don't walk away from this feeling like you have an agenda or are trying to sell me on something. Well done

  • It has 117hp not 116hp! lol

  • @TNguyen159 congrats =) i got mine just today =D standard tho and black =) cute car right?

  • i just bought one of these cars today =) a black one standard. it was love at first sight =)

  • GreaT!!! thanks for the review.

  • Its like playing tetris in a car...

  • I just got rid of a 330 whp 2001 VW GTi for a motorcycle, and am going to buy a Honda fit, I absolutely love them for their intended purpose

  • I got an old Fiesta 1.0 and a regular Fit 1.5 ... hmmm well... both are nice cars and fun to drive.

  • Another EVO at 8:30

  • Notice the EVO at 4:47

  • i like these you were veryright about the tires

  • Good reviewer. I'm getting a Fit Sport in a couple months. Have an 06 Civic coupe now and really like it, but I want the extra storage of the Fit. So far, I've seen and heard nothing but good/great things about it.

  • just baught a 2011 honda fit sport yesterday same color its freaking nice. i had a 99 civic since 06 and that was nice but the fit is great. i got an automatic but you can switch it to a "S" gear so u can shift yourself. and it has paddle shifters on the side os the steering wheel, its go alot of room for a small car too, alot of head room. engine isnt as fast as the civics, but the automatic/manual fit sport is cool i love that car

  • looking at this car for my first car that I am buying.............really like this car

  • @namuchildtake2 Got one, I highly recommend it....

  • pay a couple thousand more and buy a mini cooper lol

  • do a mini cooper!

  • Awesome review!! I bought one for my girlfriend... all that space with the back seat folded will come in handy ;)

  • I sat in the 2011 one today and it was comfy. Now I'm 6'4" 210lbs so that says a lot. More than enough head and leg room. My only complaint was the arm rest was crap. My arm kept sliding off of it,lol. But for most it should be fine.

  • i want that evo that keeps sneaking up in the background

i need to find a fit to drive, i want to see how similar to the wagovan it drives

  • Chick's car

  • My wife and I went to NY Auto Show and didn't know about the Fit until we saw it at the show. We sat in it, couldn't believe the roominess of it. We liked how the back seats went down to take our dogs. I'm 6 feet tall and weigh 280 - yes, a big guy. I was comfortable inside it. Great leg and head room for a guy my size. So, my wife bought one this past weekend. A manual sport. I drove it home (she was nervous) and I really liked how the car drives. It's so much fun to drive, I'm getting one too!

  • i don't agree with the engine. my old 2000 corolla had a 125hp engine with 30 mpg city and it weighed only 2400lbs. honda should put their 1.8L in here with direct injection.

  • @immortal4942

But what you and seemingly alot of people forget -or- don't know is older engine designs had far less EPA restrictions against them so more power and better MPG were more easily achieved. Today, engineers have to meet far more strict regulations while keeping perfomance and economy in balance.

  • I Love it! I just bought my 2010 fit sport and got a great deal ! Will take it to the Coast this week. Roomy and great visibility and turns well. I traded in for my Suzuki XL7 which was 5 years old and 70,00 miles, I had needed it when the kids were still at home . I am so happy with this car !

  • Great comprehensive review!

  • The fit is so cute that I wanna rev the fuck until the gaskets throw itself out of the bonnet and then I'll change gear XD

  • gas mileage is disappointing

  • @LTF85199 i get 34 mpg in my manual fit sport. It's not as bad as he says here (probably lugging his crew and equip + AC blasting all weekend)

  • EVO'S FTW xDD

  • i would buy hyundai elantra instead of this car!!!

  • Here is the BEST reason to buy one: K swap.

Here is the WORST reason to buy one: people love to steal them. esp. here in PA.

  • I like this guy's personal!! Awesome review!!

  • Thanks for the review!

  • nice.. "alive" tattoo

  • My long story on the Fit: Back a little over a year ago, I was shopping for a Honda S2000. I drove out to my brothers garage to have him look at the S2K and give me his opinion on the condition, while there, the previous owner and I took a buddys Auto-X Fit our for a spin. Its OBIOUSLY nothing like My S2K (I'm not trying to compare the two) but the Honda Fit is a Really fun car! The roads were wet so we couldn't really test handling, but still, the car was Alot of fun for a car dyno'd at 94whp.

  • Adams Motorsport Park in Riverside CA :D i go there every weekend either to race or watch the people drift!! Two Thumbs up

  • I like this guy's reviews.

  • hahaha, He said " Hard on" at 2:22

  • I just wanted to add that I test drove the fit and the fiesta, personally I like the fit, and I agree with The SmokingTire's review, however; aesthetically I thought that the dials in the fiesta looked and felt cheap as well as the radio display, was all chunky pixels.

  • Excellent built car -- good review ---- but did you have to show that beautiful Shelby at the end .Here I am looking for an economy car then you show me the car of my dreams --- Lucky Gas is at a wallet raping $4 .50 a gallon to bring me back to reality , otherwise I might go back in time and need to kiss some Arab butt and buy an oil well -- or at least look for weapons of mass destruction .

Needless I still like the little 4 banger -- if only they could lower the price ????

  • Still my favorite intro for the show. Ha!

  • 2 Ford Fiesta drivers saw this vid.

  • @DelSolRacer93 but the fit is bigger and roomier and a honda and not made with ridiculous colors

  • Get a new Nissan Juke over that underpowered piece of shit Honda fit..lol

  • @tom11zz884 haha, juke is so ugly. are you serious?

  • @von551 Looks are subjective, and yes, i'm very serious.

  • Loved this review. I'm subscribing.

  • Note, it's a "COMMUTER" car.

  • I own a 2010 Honda Fit Sport with a 5 speed manual. I was surprised to hear that you only got 27 MPG. I regularly get 37 to 40 with my car which I'm assuming is due to my driving style to maximize my MPG. I just thought you would be interested in knowing that it is possible to get higher fuel efficiency with this very fun car. I love my Honda Fit!

  • @cstretick

I "stole" (he hate giving it up) my dad's FIT to drive from the Chicago suburbs to Milwaukee, doing 70-75ish mph the whole way, got just shy of 35 mpg. I love it and will probably buy one myself when I graduate from college, its a great car and i'm glad i'm not the only person who thinks so

  • I own a 2010 Honda Fit and I LOVE it. To me it is like a cross between the CRX of the 80's and the Civic Wagovan. Lots of space and actually fun to drive (the wagovan not so much in the fun to drive department). When the seats are folded down it has enough cargo room to rival a small SUV which is pretty amazing. I agree on the outside it isn't the best looking car on the road but that's ok. The car has a big heart and I can see myself owning it for quite a while.

  • I'm going to test drive a 2008 Fit here in the next couple of days. I love this car. I honestly like the way it looks, and you can probably park it anywhere.

  • Good review Matt. Like the car.

  • i work as a detailer and ita so easy to clean especially the carpet when fold down or up right. Then again im looking for a car as well and turn out to be a fit

  • The only issue i have with this... Doesn't the fit look like a MINi mini van from the side?

  • You serious, rave about how sporty and compact Fit but apparently Genesis Coupe sucks even with the track model that's fully loaded...

  • @ericleeSupSayK dude give it up

  • Smoking Tire = FAIL

  • @globalk100 unblock me.

  • @superchargewhine thats from ur video from ur nickgarage page

Nice S.Korean brainwashing...

  • Love the review. I'm a drummer and I need to be able to haul a drumset to gigs and still get pretty decent fuel economy because gas prices SUCK. I honestly didn't really like the Fit at first (mostly the name and the commercials turned me off on it), but it's been growing on me. It's called the Jazz in Japan and Europe, so it ticks me off that they didn't keep that. This review just about sold me on it. It's a hatch, it's sporty-ish, good MPG, and built well... because it's a Honda.

  • I drive the fit sport manual and after driving SUV's my whole life I love the fit! lots of room and suprisingly fun to drive.

  • this car is ME. it is PERFECT

  • You discredit yourself as a car critic when you don't know if a Honda is better than a Ford. A Honda Fit or Honda anything for that matter is 1000 times better than a Ford Fiesta. Why don't you do real research and look into actual repair and warranty records of each car? I mean is it that hard for you or any professional car critic to look into repair records of cars? I don't do car reviews but I ask around and know that in Europe the Fiesta has more problems than Yaris and Fit. Reliability is

  • @GlockNinja Reliability is the most important factor in a budget oriented car because poor people can't afford a car that breaks down all the time or can't last a long time. So why do you car critics always leave out the most important factor? Stop playing around and do some real testing on reliability and value. We don't buy economy cars because its fun. We buy it because we need a cheap ride and it stays cheap by not breaking down.

  • @GlockNinja you are just one of those people who are too stubborn to realize that ford can change. ford had its rough spots in the past 20 years all the way up until about 2005. ford is a lot beter than it used to be and better than many other manufacturers now days whether you like it or not

  • @carguy379 Ford has improved? Okay, I'll give you that much. But I can say that from what I see its not by much. I have friends who traded in their Nissan to buy a Ford Focus. At first they raved about the great deal they got and how nice the car was. Almost a full year into owning it, they have already had problems with the car.

  • @carguy379 I'm not saying the Japanese cars don't have problems. God knows they have gone down in quality as well. But one big difference between Japanese big 3 and American big 3 is that you will get a letter in advance that there is a problem with your Japanese car, hence why they do more recalls than any other car companies. I recently got a letter extending my warranty on my Pathfinder from 3yrs 30k to 7yrs 80k because there "might" be a radiator hose problem. Continue...

  • @GlockNinja about the focus, it is still an "old ford". plus that is all bullshit about the advanced notice thing. google "honda Cr-v black death" that is not an advanced notice, in fact, they havent even issued a recall. toyota recalled or 1 million corollas due to staling and you are claiming that they are more reliable? the fact is that pretty much every modern car is reliable if taken care of properly unless there is a design flaw

  • @carguy379 Focus is an "old Ford"? Huh? I could have sworn the Focus my friend bought was a 2009. Hmmm. That is Old? Regardless if its an OLD MODEL name, it is still currently on the market. NO EXCUSES. Oh and if you want to talk about old, I have a 1998 Civic and I haven't changed the oil in it since June of 2010. I been putting it off and before I knew it, I went over 6 months without an oil change. I have 169K on the Civic. Please, don't even try to compare a Honda to a Ford EVER. Thank you.

  • @GlockNinja i dont literally mean old ford. you know what, iam sick of arguing with you

  • @carguy379 I didn't mean for you to go away angry. Just go away. LOL Just kidding. I just get heated about this debate because I've gone through some really bad nightmares with American cars.

  • @GlockNinja i know i know, i have a friend that talks shit on american cars all the time and i am just sick of hearing japanese cars are so much better

    \

  • @carguy379 My bro bought a 2006 Honda Civic. It has 69K on it. The engine cracked and radiator fluid leaked into the motor (after warranty). This happened to my 1984 Camero at 29K after 4 years (after warranty). Chevy Dealership said event with extended warranty, I was shit out of luck because the warranty expired 1 month before the engine cracked. Honda had sent a Extended Warranty last year extending warranty to 80K and 8 years because they owned up to a engine flaw. My bro got a new engine

  • @GlockNinja No car company including Japanese car companies are perfect. But Japanese car companies come closest to being perfect than any other car companies. I just wish the American dealerships weren't run by that car salesmen attitude, something not tolerated in Japan. Customers are waited on hand and foot and complaints are taken care of no matter the cost in Japan and in Korea. No dealership stays in business otherwise. Its called true customer satisfaction.

  • MPG is a bit off here in my opinion. Of course, it varies on a lot of things, but on a trip from New York to Virginia I returned 36 mpg. In my *Civic Si*. I regularly get 32mpg mixed driving to work and back. If you cant beat that in a Fit, you are driving it wrong.

  • im looking at a small suv but this fit is interesting. can it fit 3 baby seats?

  • I love the Fit! I drive 30 curvy miles to work every day, and it gets the job done in a fun fashion. I have the base model 09, and the clutch is not quite as smooth as they say, but running the engine to 5000 RPM before shifting smooths it out quite nicely.

  • Hi Matt,

How does the Fit's 53.4 around Adams Motorsports Park compare to the Fiesta and other sporty cars?

    Thanks.

  • @fitsport2009 he never took the fiesta to Adams but I'm sure it would run a good time. Matt's Fit time was in his top 5 I think. #1 was the GTI.

  • We have the fit, and it is a wonderful car. Only issue is that it will heat up in sun quite easily.

  • The most in-depth video i have seen about the fit thank you so much :) also do you think i could get my 7 piece drum kit in there? would there be any extra room for amps? i need room for band stuff but gas prices scare me :P

  • @TheJosephlevine it has 57 cubic feet of space in the back with the seats down and i am pretty sure you could fit it all in there, probably the ams too. i is massive

  • love my 2010 fit sport. my girlfriend lives 34 miles away from me and i do 38mpg on highway to see her=)

  • This car doesn't get the mileage that it should for a small car. The Ford Fiesta would be my pick over this car any day. Honda also lacks a lot of luster with their whole line-up. The Civic is probably one of the ugliest looking cars on the market. The Hybrid version is even worse as far as looks go.
