I want a dog that won't leave my side or lap while I'm at home but can handle a few hours everyday with the rest of the family while I'm at school. I want an obedient dog that is not too hard to train. As i mentioned already I really want a dog that has lap dog traits. Should I get a West Highland Terrier or an English Cocker Spaniel? I'd prefer answers from people who own either of the breeds. Thanks.

So cute, I have an English Cocker Spaniel but she is black with a little bit of white on her chest. She is so cute and friendly. She would never mind a dog getting the bed with her, well it is my bed but she sleeps with me.
Daww, just like my cockers. ^^
Happy (girl, black&tan) likes to lick the older eng. cocker called Mop (boy, a shade of red). Usually Mop gets mad at her and barks off her hair. XD
I love them though. ^^
