..just remembering when "landing it" just meant you just barely landed it and I/you/whomever could do that on anything they could think up as opposed to "Be in control. only do very simple movements learned in the official lesson."
"EASY STYLE IT" I think is the marketed snowboard lingo these days.
The reason is ...as I was getting at..he just goes for it and snowboards..No big.. groomed jumps and riders doing huge setup turns to land really boring tricks like 360 and 540s.
Yes it is Peter Line....Idiot. The original soundtrack was Gas Huffer. Why was this beautiful classic footage raped in the ass with this ghetto fucking welfare music? Almost every snow vid since 1998 is full of that shit. Please leave the earlier stuff alone. Otherwise great clip.
@frostedfunks raped in the asswith this ghetto welfare music wow.news 4 u.line got skills but not very innovative. that was my era. he was known as a biter, ripping off real inovators, look at old articals in mags(example;taking credit 4 1st fs rodeo).on top of that, he was white trash,4 real, and a d.bag asshole. as 4 this vid, just mute it and get out the snowboard punks greatist hits.im sure u got some pennywise or nofx lying around. mello out. stop the violence, cant we all just get along?
@simptoes Well if he didn't invent them where were the guys who did? I guess maybe they are the ones claiming? That was my era too so name me one guy who was doing corks like Peter Line and just as big and show me video. Daniel Franck is the only one who even comes close. Maybe Guch. No one TO THIS DAY spins all sideways like Peter. Plus saying someone is white trash is offensive unless you are talking about Britney Spears...
@digiprez77come on.If this was your era your bout my age(35'ish) youd know that B.Guch was part off the late 80's early 90's thrashers like palm and Hetzel.Go big straight airs. There were a few young guys in the early 90 vids that brought skill and style.Jamie or Terje ring a bell?During mid 90's the Nwest and Scandaavian boys put it down. That is a short amount of time but that is how quik shit progressed.Lived in Tahoe 93-96,Norcal my whole life, seen em all.BS rodeo, Jamie !st Petr claimed 1st
@simptoes Bryan Iguchi was the first one to do a 900 at a Red Bull big air in Austria I think. He was the spinniest guy out there until he moved to Jackson Hole. Hetzel was the switch spin master and spent years riding backwards. I can't remember Terje ever really corking anything. I am 33 btw, but I am from Wisconsin, the land of Dale Rehberg and Roan Rogers. I don't think brodeo is even really claimed by anyone, it is too easy lol. At any rate you know how much better it was back then.
@digiprez77 I saw your comment about Guch being the first to do a 900, and had to correct you. I know the clip you're talking about (transworld snowboard videomag#1), but that was in '94. I remember Terje doing a switch 900 back in '92 in a little video called Nature of the Beast (part 4 of 4). There is even a video I made back in 93/94 where my friend spins a 900! Look up the videos, they're all on youtube and will bring you back!
@digiprez77 By the way,I watched Noah Salaznick and the rest of the truckee Crew(TTG) getting flat(corkscrews)in 93 at Boreal.Once again,IF you snowboard or even skate you know people are doin shit way before it makes a vid or someone names it, well not nowadays. Its all good,if you ride dont trip.Didnt mean to insult.I get it,you like peter.HE is white trash, though.Alot of those dudes from WA and OR are.they dont mind. Some PBR and pow and there good!LOL =D
@robrandt dont forget jp walker. his NBD(never been done) list is thru the roofs. he bridged the gaps between kickers and jibbing. transworld even did a whole spread on it when he jumped ships from forum to stepchild. check it out.
i love the way line rides he is probably one of my favourite snowboarder the guy made snowboarding what it is today. he blazed the trail the shawn white is now perfecting
wow, i didnt know who this guy was..i noticed his name in the MDP double decade trailer, and decided to check it out...anyway... i know a little bit about '90s snowboarding...and this guy is crazy!! like just woah...this guy was doing some of the stuff you still see in modern day video parts...this guy was way ahead...props to him
Come on..go get a lesson....and do it the way you are told to...and then listen to some idiot snowmaker or emplyee yell at you after you just landed a front flip second hit of the season. say...."You were one foot from hitting your head off the take off!" you obviously don't know what you are doing! That is unsafe do not let me see that again...No shit. That is the point moron. I'm looking at all this and remember how fun it was to just go snowboard.
Do I think Peter Line listens to MIA? Maybe...Maybe not. Did seeing this video make me feel stoked and young and illmatic again? Def. I can't wait for snow!
Peter Line was ripping when you were still in nappies. The tricks may look a little tame now, but believe me this was ground-breaking stuff at the time. In any case, you can clearly see Peter Line's unique riding style... Big respect to one of the Godfathers of snowboarding.
Who else had the D23 poster of the trick hes doing at 2:40?
