In Genesis 1:26 God made man on the "sixth" day and in Genesis 2:7 God formed man on the "eighth" day . Cain's wife was of the six day creation from the land of Nod. Assuming Cain slew Abel when he was18 yrs old Eve would have had at least 16 more children. Also assuming one child per year Eve could have had twins or the time period between Cain and Abel could have been longer. Also Cain could have been 30 yrs old before he killed Abel his brother. So with that it's possible to see how there could be other people on the earth besides Adam Eve,Cain and Abel. Remember Adam was 130 when Eve begat Seth

As I understand it in the very beginning when there was only Adam and Eve's genes passed down to their children and the children through incest had kids the genes were stronger until the gene pool filled and reversed itself to where it was no longer safe, even Abraham's wife Sarah was his 1/2 sister. As for Adam and Eve's kids, what other choice did they have?

In Genesis 1:26 God made man on the "sixth" day and in Genesis 2:7 God formed man on the "eighth" day . Cain's wife was of the six day creation from the land of Nod. I recommend you look into the Sumerian creation story, it has many similarities to genesis. I believe the original story was meant to imply that humans were already populating the earth before Adam and Eve. Adam and eve were simply a new type of human made in the image of the gods.

It was obvious that the only way for Adam and Eve to replenish ,(obviously not the first time there was something here), the Earth was to have male and female offspring. If males are descendants of males AND females, and females are only descendants of females, then it stands to reason that Adam was Eve, and Eve was Adam. Men have both; women only have one!
