K9 mark I: very first and stayed with Leela on Gallifrey. Somehow he survived the Time War and was installed with a regeneration unit. The 1st K9 on this show.

K9 mark II: second K9 the Doctor built (stayed with Romana)

K9 mark 2: the current K9 on this show. No relation to Mark II.

Im going to be honest, I didnt think I would enjoy this. I thought disney would fuck it up, like a lot of things. (and holding episodes of Gargolyes because of a really stupid arangement, Im going to hold a grudge) I do find some small, really nerdy, problems I have with this show. but in General? its decent. It can be great. It could be better...and knowing Disney probably wont have connections to the Doctor show. A shame if you ask me.

which mark is K-9 in this because i heard it was mark 1 but it cant cause if you do some Dr who research you will find out that mark 1 was destroyed in an explosion. it must be mark 2 cause he was apparently left on Galifrey.

I think the cheesiness is fun. I mean... come on, it's just a TV show and for children no less. Who cares if it's cannon or not it's fun to think about it (plus I think DW contradicts itself enough to not make canon or not a problem).

I mean what IF Leela's K9 unit somehow managed to escape Gallifrey and the regeneration circuit it was fit with actually worked like it would on a Timelord? Well... he'd probably look a bit different, maybe even knew. He'd probably speak a bit different.

Well, this is pretty bad.... luckily, it's not canon to the Doctor Who series at all... So, the show actually isn't THAT bad as everyone is making it out to be. I mean, it's better than I expected. I honestly expected some cheesy show with a poorly designed CG dog asking for treats every 5 seconds, wanting to go on wacky adventures and educate children in reading.

@cybermaxpower the dr who? wow. ok. gonna fly by that one. The regeneration unit has symbols resembling old high gallifreyan. It is known that at least 1 if not 2 k-9's were on gallifrey. it is possible leela or romana had them fitted with modified tardis regeneration modules

Hmmm, The Department = predecessor to the Time Agency perhaps? For now the show lacks connection to the BBC, but that doesn't prevent Jetix and BBC teaming up for certain things. Btw, I think River Song is related to the Time Agency.

@MegaAstroFan18 I have been a fan since October 5th 1978 but while much of the new show is O.K. not all of it is as good as others, the continuity was consistently cast aside and there is a lot that can never overlap, the more that you know about such things (and i studied Dr. Who for years) the more .

Some people like things and others do not , it is that simple.

Some of the new stuff is better than others, i studied Doctor Who to a massive extent and the discontinuities can irritate some who didn't just watch but studied the content of some of what is being currently released.
