If it was "Bo-ka" then it would've have been in Japanese "Bokaa", it's Bokeh, which is actually "Bokee" which should sound like "Bo-Keh". But great video :) Just thought I might correct people's Japanese.
this is great! im trying it now,but i have a question, im using 18-55mm Lens. am i suppose to use a bigger shape or smaller. lets say if im using a long lens am i going to use smallers shape too?
I wish I could do this, but unfortunately I don't have the money to get a DSLR and I already tried and failed at doing bokeh shots with my Olympus SP-600UZ. The blur makes pictures look so much better, fully sharp pictures are boring.
@Synnergy08 Why not get a cheap SLR like the Olympus E-420? I bought mine second hand. It doesn't matter that its a low-end SLR, its still an SLR. Once you experience through-the-lens viewfinder, phase detect auto-focus and larger apertures, you'll wonder how you were ever satisfied with a compact / bridge camera.
I like the retro background especially with the yellow tinted white but is the orange retro stereo in the background for real or is this some kind of Oz humor :P ?
@spacefaget Well, in saying that, the original word is Boke, which with what I know of Japanese, should be Bo and Ke.
From doing a quick google it seems as though the H was added for English readers when discussing it so that it would be pronounced correctly. As Bo-Keh.
Bo (As in Bob) and Ke (As in Ken)
I have no idea where the BoKa-Kah, pronunciation came from.
Thanks Chris, looking forward to seeing some great submissions. I've had a play already and it is tricky, but once you have the hang of it, you can get some fantastic shots. Good luck all.
58 mm good?

Negative. It's "bokah".
