  • that is wrong,my teacher is a scientist.the heart is near the head

  • cant even find the heart...

  • i wonder if its dead.. struggling or something

ive seen one under microscope a couple of weeks before and it keeps moving as if its on fire...

  • is it in cold condition? can't really see the beats...

  • AWWW \

  • the next generation

  • @scotlandloose sorry

  • @scotlandloose Okay, so guess what I did in Biology Lab today? haha umm we counted the heart beats of the Daphnia....sorry :/ we can be friends now. But only if you improve your spelling skills :) bwahahah

  • its spelled h-e-a-r-t, not "h-a-r-t"

  • @scotlandloose Okay youre fricken dumb because Daphnias dont have a heart dumb ass quit arguing with me OMGosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why the hell is its body going outside itself it gross

  • @scotlandloose okay lol

  • What is a daphnia, a hydra, or a volvox?! O.e HOW DID I END UP HERE?

  • @Thewaterofthepool i dont know how i ended up here too!

  • ummm they dont have hearts

  • Hearts on the back

  • think of that inside your ear

  • looks like a bird...

  • where is the heart??

  • WOW, what magnification is that? Also, do you know what species? I have what I think is Daphnia (pulex?) but I may be completely wrong...you are clearly the bio-student! Any help with identification would be much appreciated, sorry for the poor quality (compared to yours).

  • Why does not she jump ?

  • @382982408

  • @felixthemaster1 maybe its a boy,or a girl,or BOTH

  • daphnia?

  • very neat

  • What a cutie

  • @KillerKikyo5

Yeah, sucks to be it... big time.

  • @KillerKikyo5

    ermmmmm where?

  • lol...im doing this in AP bio!!

  • haha that daphinia looks like its spazzing out! ^_^

  • This is why chemists and physicists say all that we do is look at things under the microscope and say "Ohh, look! An (insert microscopic organism name)! Isn't it cute?!"

  • we r gonna be doing this in AP Bio for a lab, pretty fun lookn stuff

  • its angry!! >=3

  • so which is the heart, the end of the long tube or the thing that looks like a sardine?

  • The heart is actually located near its back to the right of the long tube thing. It's not clear in this video.

  • I did an experiment with Daphnia on friday. Seeing how caffeine affects heart rate.

  • how'd that go

  • Today, I fished a daphnid out of my culture of pond water. When I saw it with my naked eye, I thought it was a bug. Then, when I first saw it through the microscope, I thought it was a protozoan awaking from a cyst because it was all curled up in a ball! I saw something moving inside. Then it started to come out. When it got out, it started moving around like crazy in its micropond!

  • Its cute. But that looks more like twitching than a heartbeat :P

  • It looks like a bird

  • that heart sucks

  • can't see the heart

  • great!!! thanks for sharing!

  • Is this the water flea?

  • Daphnia and water flea are the same thing.

  • Brilliant photography, to show the daphnia so sharply in focus, at such a high magnification. Amazing to watch!

  • awesome
