  • @Swedishxvogue20 you have my sympathy. I feel sorry for anyone born in the 90s. I'm so sorry. ;.;

  • Was talking to my husband about this night..I thought I might see my cus and I and I did !!! Look for Jack Mo and Bren (aka Peanut) at 4:05 next to the guys with shirts off. We had to get to C Station in 25 mins we ran the whole way there That there were some good times!!!

  • i remember that day seeing the 80's go was sad very sad cause 90's ushered in so much change and not for the better dick clark rockin eve is a must with me people here its odd they have big parties and bonfires until like near 4am they have more fun that nite than xmas eve or day, in some ways id have to say i enjoy new years eve more than any other holiday and dick clark makes it all so much the better!

  • @sebastainknight

The 90's were actually one of America's best decades, starting with the fall of the communist superpower in 1991.

The following would have been one of its worst, starting with 9/11.

  • 1990, the beginning on the best years to come of my childhood :D

  • @dowork8686 Agreed.

  • what is stupid is that hollywood was celebrating also but you think about it it is only 9pm out there they had 3 hours to go

  • @bigwillietheb - All of that stuff is pre-taped.

  • When Dick mentioned Goodbye to the 80's,I said wow time flies and this was 20 years ago.

  • I'm just watching this and noting the differences from then to now. I'm not exactly sure why I picked 1990. I just wanted to watch an old Dick Clark tape that wasn't TOO long ago. No sponsors. Not everyone had to wear a 'Nivea' hat to be on TV. Cigarette billboards and adult theaters were everywhere in Times Square. 1990 ended up being New York's most dangerous and deadly year. A lot has changed, some for the better, some for the worse!

  • @petey8887 Also note that the people showed up to see the ball and ABC broadcast it. They didn't direct it or control it they just observed it and broadcast it. Today they direct it, light it, set up surround sound, and provide stellar entertainment for the people. I also take notice that the crowds obviously have big bottles of alcohol in their hand (more so in the older ones) I'm sure you couldn't get an open container near there these days.

  • 1990, the year i turned 7

  • Incredible. I remember saying goodbye to the 1980s like it was yesterday.

  • 1990 the year i turned 2

  • @KingFrankieD The year i turned 1 :)

  • 1989 was also the year American Bandstand ended.

  • 1990 sucked , it was one of the worst years of my life , and i didnt even get to see the ball coming down that year ,i was working.

  • omg i just turned 16 a day before. vividy remember this news years eve. SO Long ago now :/

  • yeahh 1990 the year i was born!!

  • @aibdescalzo Rock on, so as I.

  • @aibdescalzo you have my sympathy.

  • I was there that year! Although we were 2 or 3 blocks west, on 42nd street. We could see the ball drop.

  • @ 3:06 he made it.

  • Do you have Dick Clark's New Year's Eve for '88/'89? I can't find it anywhere but I want to because I remember a guy ripping his hat off and stomping on it after the ball dropped! :)

  • omg i remember this so much i was only 17 years old=) i miss beign a teenager

  • this is just awful. my cancer is cumming back

  • Notice the giant lighted Camel Cigarettes ad in Time Square. I guess that tobacco settlement put an end to that.
