this is hogna carolinensis. it is a male. they are the largest wolf spiders in north america. i am a biologist, and i study this species.

You might find this interesting. I'm currently studying the mating rituals of the Gorgyrella sp. I found a male (finally) at a small shop that was mislabeled as a Ctenolophus sp. There where obvious morphological differences to allow me to provide a clear reclassification for the shop owner. He was embarrassed lol.. The female just finished her eggsac, and I will probably post my first yt video ever after the slings hatch.

i use to have a bird eating spider before i was born (it was my mums),a costa rican zebra tarantula (also my mums before i was born) a pink toed tarantula (i was born then) and another tarantula (i forgot what the name was of the type of tarantula)

wof spider is venomous but does not cause necrotic arachnidism or serious symptoms and she is skared to death if understands you ..so no need to be scared at all but of course never catch it or get bitten i would not let it craul on me cause you never know how it will react cause if scared they are nervous and probably bite

the venom is toxic to humans. It rots away the skin just like the brown recluse but not as fast. Dont get near them because their dangerous.

omg when i was in arizona my nana stayed in my uncle camper for that whole month and like the last week there i like it was cathrine lexi gg and there friends and lexi (14) was like OH MY GOSH and than we all turned around and than we all like were frozon cathrine looked at me and than we ran outside as fat as we could!! those things are scary there just weird looken!!

the next time you see a spider in your house turn away and let her roam yes the girls live longer than guy spiders a turantula female can live to be 30 years old a male 4 or 5 so before you go out and buy a spider or hit one with your shoe think about it

Thanks. Yeah, my sentiments exactly. Very ferocious, big, & frightening on first appearance. But the more closely you look at him, the more character he reveals. They're far more intelligent than people suspect -- saw a special on Nature -- eyesight is so acute they can distinguish and react to other spiders watching video of them.
