People don't realise that not only pugs over heat quick, they also get cold quick...that's why they die often when people try to have them as outdoor dogs...if you have a regular dog and a pug in the snow, the pug will eventually refuse to walk and start shivering.

My two pugs live with me in Australia and we get temperatures over 40 degrees celcius. Pugs are quite sensitive to changes in weather, but as long as you're sensible about it, they're tough little creatures. A short burst out in the snow is OK as long as he wasn't out there too long!

I bought a sweater for my pug for the winter but he hated the thing so much that he would attack it on sight and hence never wore it again. I wouldnt take him far in the snow but a couple times I had to pick him up and walk home with him in my jacket.

even though they get cold in the snow, dogs in the US and other parts where they have snow are lucky enough to play in snow unlike us... my pug is living with us in Australia where there is only 2 to 3 snow areas...but they are resorts....lucky thing.

Trust me, Pugs do better in the cold than in the heat, a little shiver is not a big deal compared to the risk of overheating in the summer. My friend has to watch her Pug to make sure he stays cool in the heat.

Of course it may not be particularly fond of the cold, but it can take it. It needs to get outside anyway, and at least they put clothes on it, which may look silly but really does help a lot for the dog.

I've shivered when I went out for walks or days out in the winter with my parents when I was younger. Years on I still have all my limbs and I seem to be reasonably healthy. As for a dog covered in fur and with a coat on...I think he's just a bit chilly. That cuddle he's getting is just what he needs to warm up!

If you have a dog that you keep indoors just to shelter it from the elements and think your doing the right thing, your the one who should have a Humane Society come to you and I pity the poor animal that is stuck with you.
