Yep... I have to agree with you on that one. It was our first attempt at something like this, so it is very rough. Hopefully you'll find Episode II a little better overall.
We used a webcam. I'm thinking of using a regular video camera for Episode III though. My webcam has developed a bad pixel which I had to fix in every frame in Episode II.
