@anil2 SERIOUSLY! You must be very young, if you never saw the Dutch genius of 74, the Brazilians of 82, Danes French and Maradona in 86. Even 98 was better with Bergkamp and Ronaldo. 2002 was awful!
@anil2 Holland were cheated out of the 78 World Cup by the Argentine junta, and in 98, Junior Baiano's foul on van Hooijdonk in the semi was a stonewall penalty. And Holland would've won this one too if Portugal hadnt got a dodgy pen in the qualifiers. FIFA don't want Holland to win :-(
Please can someone let me know the name f this song. They say it's 'Tarantula (Remix)' by Faithless, but when I can only find the DJ Tiesto remix, not this one. Could it be it's a different song title? Help would be much appreciated!
It is indeed a remix of "Tarantula". It's called "God Is A Beckham" (see what they did there?), and you can find it on the "Reperspective" CD, which itself is a remix of the "Outrospective" album.
Thank you so much for your reply. No wonder I didn't find it! I was looking under 'Tarantula (Remix)'. The title...too blasphemous for me, but then again, that's the commercial side to the song I guess. L Anyways, you have been a lot of help :-)
I agree. I loved the 2002 world cup though, it was bright and controversial to a degree. 2006 was controversial but I didn't enjoy it. I think the comp went dud when the ref Collina retired. Reffing eversince has been bleh.
refs dont make a tournament - 2002 was good cos of all the surprises and exits of teams like france and argentina. As far as im concerned, the referee doesn't matter as we shouldn't notice him anyway.
Yeah it is and there are some other parts from the same tournament in this video. I think they used them after the group stages finished so that is most probably why they are used.
yea it when beckham scored against Argentina ...from the penalty spot if I'm not mistaken .....but there was another version when it showed rivaldo in that slot of the clip before that England and Argentina game took place

Imagine the main tune played with the laser harp. Faithless and Jarre have more in common than they would care to admit.

I personally think that this was an awesome world cup!
Despite not a memorable final, there was shocks, entertainment and emergences of new teams and players.
I thought it was special and well done to the hosts as well!
