  • Is corporate Hollywood capable of making such an honest movie today?

Answer is "No!" so I'm so glad that all of us convened by Dr. Mercola are connected to and learning about the power of nature and love. We'll have to launch the movie sequel in our time, which will help humanity organize its resources, collaborate, recognize the gifts we all have and share in abundance with each other and nature. Back to the future.

  • I have the DVD and my family just watched it, but I still dropped by to say Merry Christmas!

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • A timeless and blessed message. Thank you for posting!

  • 1:29:30 - This scene was used in Home Alone 2: Lost In New York and it's a Spanish version.

  • 1:12:09 - 1:12:19 - This scene used in Home Alone and it's a French version.

  • Generally, NBC Broadcasts this Movie on Christmas. A Movie that Jimmy Stewart did not want to do. Gratitude, and the importance of just of how many lives are affected by one person, such a great reminder of the significance of one's life. To each of you who has touched my life, I am grateful. You all are a gift from God. My youngest, who just turned 18, Matthew, his name, means a Gift from God. Merry Christmas.

  • A best friend of mine told me about this movie in 1982. I rented the video a few days later and couldn't believe how awesome the movie was!! I always watch this film every year on Dec. 24. It still bring tears to my eyes!!!

  • Wow the ending when the friends come that really was amazing.

  • Still angry, to this day, that Mr. Potter got some free cash haha.

    Classic movie though.

  • Something tells me I have to watch this now and exactly now.. i will report later

  • Good thing the angels didn't send Jack Kevorkian down to save George

  • "Because he's cutting in on your business!" You have to build something of your own, that no-one can ever take away from you! The best way to do that in this economy is to have your own home-based business!

  • "We can do no great things--only small things with great love." Mother Teresa

(And this movie brings to mind another great old saying: Man plans and G-d laughs!

So glad to have this movie on youtube! Thank you. I have watched it 29 times. This is #30. Couldn't find it anywhere on TV this year. I love any story with the theme of a "second chance": Shawshank Redemption, A Christmas Carrol, Groundhog Day, etc. I'd need 100 lifetimes for all the mistakes I've made!

  • ´Merry christmas! & thanks foruploading this!!

  • it isn't Christmas till I've watched this movie.......thanks for posting.....xD

  • I can't believe what Liberal characters Jimmy Stewart played (George Bailey, Mr. Smith) yet in real life he was a hard core conservative.

  • Thank you so much for posting. Quality picture too. Merry Christmas to you!!!

  • Frank Capra lectured at my film school, and I got to say "Hi Mr.Capra" as I passed him every day in the halls... a real treat, and he didn't have the slightest idea who I was. : )

When they showed this movie every year on every broadcast television station, continuously, 24 hours a day because it was residual free (until somebody copyrighted the video) I kept it on the entire christmas season... now i get to do it again!

  • The Original "Liberal Propaganda" It's amazing how far we've shifted. Conservative idiots need to understand that these are Americans Values. Not the Potterville we live in today.

  • ELLE SENT ME HERE! WOOP

  • One heck of a xmas classic indeed, thank you for taking the time to post this on youtube, much appreciated, and a merry xmas to everyone.

  • The absolutely Best Ever, Holiday film!

  • wonderful wonderful movie!

  • TWO things I always wondered about:

29:18 WHAT "deal" was George going to offer a nude Mary in the bushes!?

1:31:46 Mary: "George, why don't you...!" Why dont you WHAT!?

  • Hope we all-did we all learn our uhhh ... lessons this year?

  • I loved this! Me and my mom watched it the other night and it totally made me feel in the Christmas spirit! I can't believe I have never watched it before now, I had always seen the commercial on TV and never had any interest to watch it. But now it has become one of my favorite Christmas movies and I hope to watch it every year :3

  • Correction the sign is at 2:01:11. The letters blackout right as George is running past it. First it says Potter LLe then as the police drive toward it then it itentionally reads Potters lie. So it must mean something!

  • read the sign carefully at 2:00 it must mean something. Certain letters in the sign were intentionally blacked out at just that moment and it reads potters lie. Would'nt noticed but it looked so intentional! But otherwise it was a pretty good movie.

  • doesnt it just make you bawl your eyes out! this movie is so amazing for the human spirit.

  • "I wish I had a million dollars, hotdog!"

  • Thank you so much for posting this wonderful classic <3

  • Is this the original full movie?

  • @Smurfy281 yep

  • 22:21 - Is that the original alfalfa from the little rascals?

  • @Actors317 yes it is

  • @LoreJunkie crazy...I must have seen this no less that 50 times.

  • Thanks for posting, really enjoyed!

  • Thanks for posting the Movie,, The best ever,, A true Classic.. I didnt get to watch it on reg TV, but thanks to this video here, i can complete my Christmas!!

  • Amazing thing is, this movie was a box office flop and largely disregarded for decades... Capra even let the copyright expire. Not until the 70's was it picked up as a classic and gained steam. To think that a lot of these actors and actresses never knew what part they played in creating what is now considered a Christmas classic.

  • whoa Ruth looks like Chachi from iamme LOL

  • Around 23:00, that would have been a blast.

  • my eyes usually start to water whenever he returns to his house

  • yeah. this is happening tonight.

  • This movie makes me tear up from the get go. I watch it alone with the phone off/unplugged and the door locked every year.

  • Remember when people used to make REAL movies like this, that actually teach us something? Man, this made me cry so much..we should all thank God for life every day, every moment counts, and every little thing we do affects those around us, whether we see it or not!!

  • oh my goodness, i wish my life were this glamorous and beautiful and heartwarming and in 720p!

  • "All you can take with you, is that which youve given away." - Peter Bailey.

    54:50

  • 2:01:50 - tears! This has been one of my most favorite movies since childhood, but seriously, what did Capra have against librarians?

  • @JaneetheBean

    Talk about personal IMPACT!!!

  • I love this movie and I'm only 16 sometimes I feel like the only teen who appreciated this stuff

  • I used to cry at the end of this music, especially starting when George picks up the book that Clarence gave him. I always loved this movie, and it will always have a special place in my heart. My wife and I just got through watching it. Thanks

  • I always love the fact that Mary's wish comes true.

  • I still can't believe this movie bombed when it first came out...

  • I love this movie, but something I've always wondered. At 11:07 into the movie, stop it, what is in George Bailey (the kid). what is in his ear? I know its his bad ear but whats in it? it looks like blood but he didn't get hit hard enough to make it bleed so what is it?

  • @KansasWins08 It is blood. The man 'boxed' George's ears, which is where you slam your hands down on them and highly pressurise the air in the ear. It's ridiculously painful even on normal ears even if it doesn't look that hard remember they're faking it for the movie but still. A bad ear would definitely bleed like that from it.

  • @snoopybooty18 Poor George

  • i love this movie

  • "Good idea Ernie. A Toast!

To my big brother George. The richest man in town."

  • @SweetMissJaye this great movie is in the public domain, so no copywrite infringement...It was mistakenly not renewed(the copywrite) in the 70's and was shown over and over everywhere...

  • @SweetMissJaye You're Welcome

  • @cstoczyn I need help. I am doing this for my acc reading class, do you know what the denouement of the story is? please reply ASAP.

  • @TheLittlebut O I C Thanks

  • @TheGoreChronicles A denouement is the outcome of a complex series of events

  • @MrRatman33 Do you know what it is? What is the denouement of this movie?

  • @TheGoreChronicles Well, i think it's the ending scene where all og George's friends come to bail him out........idk, that's just the way i see it, but it seems like the denouement to me
