Sou católico, mas eu tenho grande simpatia com nossos irmãos ortodoxos, suas igrejas são belíssimas.

Iris, e eu fico feliz, sabe, porque esse ódio a Igreja fez a Ortodoxia se dispersar, no caso, criou uma diáspora e com essa diáspora, seja causada por muçulmanos, comunistas ou qualquer tipo de heresia, fez que com Catedrais belissimas como essa de SP existissem!

Sim minha cara irmã, que nas Divinas Liturgias rezemos por essas pessoas, os verdadeiros intolerantes, que perseguiram a Igreja na Santa Rússia e em vários paises eslavos, que mataram mais de 50 milhões de fiéis por pura intolerância, Deus tenha piedade!

Brother, it looks like an orthodox church to me. Churches in Greece is same like this.

@bmtwkyka1: Yeah because greeks got crazy! Greek have almost lost Orthodoxy. Pews are forbidden and blasphemous. Women have to cover their hair - read St. Paul or the apostolic constitutions. It is also an apostolic Tradition that men and women are seperated in Church.

The greek church is full of innovation and modernism - that is well known! But those people in Brazil have the right to receive traditional Orthodoxy.

@adamantis4657 1 My friend, Orthodoxy was born in Byzantine Empire and thank God, we are blessed, still having it. In Greece is also Holy Mountain, that from 9 a.c, there are many elder orthodox monks and monasteries. Holy Mountain is also called "the Garden of Panagia (Mother of Christ)" and any female is not allowed there. How God would let us loose Orthodoxy as you say? We better die. And i have to tell you nowhere in Greece, women have to cover their hair. All churches have Pews.

@bmtwkyka1: I think u missed my point! Women have to cover their hair because it is a part of Holy Tradition - apostolic Tradition or do u know St. Paul? Or the apostolic constitutions? The writings of the Holy Fathers - because they ORDER that women have to cover their hair - as it is still down in MOST russianl, serbian, and rumanian parishes - even in greek old calendar churches women also have to cover their hair - because they keep Orthodoxy!

@bmtwkyka1: The same with pews: FOR about 2000 years orthodox christians DID NOT SIT during the Divine Liturgy or other services. Because it is a part of Holy Tradition to STAND during prayer - or to kneel and prostrate. To sit on chairs is blasphemous and absolut uncanonical. Even a Canon of an ECUMENICAL Council that we have to stand. NEVER EVER PEWS were used!!!! The holy Fathers also have written about the proper behaviour during the Holy Mysteries.

@bmtwkyka1: There are also greek parishes with Organs, polyphony etc.....priests with shaved beard, new calendar,.....ecumenism, moderism....THE LIST IS LONG.

SO YES - GREEK HAS ALOMOST LOST HOLY ORTHODOXY! Orthodoxy is not a folklore thing or to have nice icons.....

ORTHODOXY means the RIGHT WORHSIP = ORTHO - DOXA - giving God the right Glory! And not a cultural thing...even the Panhagia warned the greeks often. The greek Elders also have spoken about that innovations....

Pews were never allowed! Orthodox christians stand during prayer and make prostrations (not on Sunday)....

This is not orthodox!

My dear brother, I know, womem must use veil and the pews and seats are not good, but there are youth at this cathedral that are using veil and teaching why, and the seats, it depends of the Bishop =/

@Loiginer: Please don't get me wrong. It is good to bring Holy Orthodoxy to the people and especially to Brazilans - I like them, I know some people there.

But I don't like to see when those "missionaries" bring a innovated Orthodoxy to the people. They also have the right to receive it incorrupt.

The same in Africa - the people are "running" to Orthodox Churches - but sadly those greek missionaries bring only some kind of pseudo Orthdodoxy - how sad....
