@labroswwe7 thank you. It's amazing the amount of people and companies that put videos on here supposedly to help people learn a language - when the people teaching it don't know how to speak it! For example, travellinguist is a company with poor quality videos - that's why they moderate comments, so nobody can tell the truth about them

@KreukKristinLaura Your point gives an immediate translation of the phrase and I don't have a problem with that. However, my point was that when you meet with somebody you would never say 'Kalo apoyevma'. A general rule is that when you meet somebody after 12:00 (noon), you say 'Kalispera' no matter what time it is until the end of the day. 'Kalo apoyevma' can be used when you say 'bye' and it's still afternoon and 'kalo vrady' or 'kalinihta' when you say 'bye' at night.

I think it would be better to use 'Καλησπέρα' (Ka-lee-SPE-ra) for Good evening. Καλό απόγευμα (Ka-LO a-PO-gev-ma) is technically correct but nobody uses it as a greeting when you see somebody. Perhaps when you say 'bye' you could use it but definitely not when you meet somebody.

i wanted to mention that when we meet someone on the street we either say "kalimera" if it is a morning or "kalispera" if it is noon-afternoon or even evening....we never say "kalo brady" or "kalinixta" when we meet someone those two are "good bye" greetings and especially "kalinixta" we use only when we know 100% that the other one is going straight to bed....

i know this is very late for me to answer, nut Kalo means good and Kalh means good, but Kalh is used for females and Kalo for things, not human, or for babies and situations, for male is used Kalos
