  • it's like prepping an astronaut for a space walk..

you know its too much if you can't put it on yourself.. haha..

  • Henry VIII: the original gangsta. Bling? Fuck off, he's got a diamond that's bigger than your head.

  • I'd Recon Old Henry would keep himself Bloody Warm at lest...with all that clobber on!

  • Thank God, clothes became easier to wear so one could go to the toilet without dressing problems from then on.

  • @jazusa03 Well he had to have someone help him get redressed if he needed to poop, the pants lace up to the vest so its does untie and would take time to undo. The codpiece the part that looks like a large you know what was able to unlaced quickly to go pee. This was the time before zippers and buttons for that matter.

  • he would probably sweat a lot during summer wearing all that...

  • @anasnaknota Actually it wasn't as warm as you'd think. We were going through a mini-ice age at the time. The temperatures were 15 to 20 degrees cooler than what we consider normal today.

AND... that's why they wore linen undergarments (long shirts/possibly bloomers). Any body sweat and body oil seeped into the linen rather than the clothes, therefore preserving the outer garments.

  • @jazusa03 that's why during his later years...he suffered from chronic constipation..it could be that having 2 choose from going to the loo and not taking those clothes off, he took the second option.

  • ah, vanity, thy name is Tudor !!!

  • @jazusa03

Thats the problem; they thought it was good too keep it in...

  • @jazusa03 They invited high colonics for this purpose :D

  • I'd hate to have to go to the privy wearing all of that........

  • @Darthbelal I make the Tudor ladies gown and yes its a chore to go to the bathroom, let alone get into a bathroom stall with a wide skirt on. Though you don't get chilly, which is good because I am always cold. Guess I have the perfect body temperature for it all.

  • Fashion history.

  • This was a really good video. So many (including myself) pay attention to what the queens wore, but the king's wardrobe is equally fascinating! Thnx

  • Really Cool
