this song has the COOOLEST STP solo. i love all of their songs now, all. But i definitely think credit should go to this song for BEST SOLO!! i get people noddin there head next to my car all the time when im bumpin this song out there!
At 2x platinum I don't think it's correct to label this album as "underrated". Because of the tour cancellation, Tiny Music did not receive as much exposure as initially intended, and as such was not as commercially successful as STP's first two albums. Those albums were HUGE though in the grand scheme of things at the time they were released. Tiny music's big splash was offset by Weiland's drug troubles.
This cd made STP my favorite band. After hearing Core and Purple, and then this...it just showed STPs range and talent. I dont know if its my favorite, but it made me realize how great they are, if that makes any sense.
@b182dood Same here. I was impressed with Core and Purple and then it takes a third great album to come out to make you say, "Hey, this band is actually talented and may be around for a while."
@b182dood Core fucking rocked and Purple had beautiful variety but Tiny Music is just generic pop rock crap to my ears; just got it yesterday though so maybe I need some time to adjust but it definitely doesn't come close to the first to albums imo
@Parralyzed yikes, yea give her a few more listens before tearing it a new butthole, its a departure and experimental for sure, but its awesome. my point was Core and Purple made my like STP a lot, and this album showed me they had no limits. but if you don't like it you don't like it, to each his own ;)
@rvilcheszamora I should listen to more music? I personally favour quality over quantity. And yes, pretty much the whole album is very generic, plain radio stuff. As I said, the first two albums were awesome, so my opinion is substantiated. How about yours?
@rvilcheszamora Oh, why didn't you say so? The fact that you pride yourself on listening to generic radio pop makes everything clear to me. Definitely great taste in music, just like almost anybody else's; very diversified and not generic at all...
@FTWorWTF "core has all the lyrical excellence of traditional pop music and has almost no variety." Even if that were true, musically it is still better than Tiny.
"at least tiny tried to break away from "metal-metal..."" So they are pop, except that their music is metal? I see...
"yes, core's songs are mostly too edgy..." Not all good music has to have substance, sometimes it's just about fun and good music. And what the hell do they need decency for? What are you, a Puritan?
@Ladiestreat Part of that was because most of the tour was canceled because of Weiland going to rehab. Yes, I do agree with you though, very underappreciated.
@shaddowstorm Think he's talking about the fan reaction. Most of the "Core" fans didn't like it, which is probably why they went back to a heavier sound for "No. 4". It didn't really get the proper appreciation from most fans until much later. But yeah, commercially it was very successful.
@shaddowstorm its underrated becuase everyone in north america knows nirvanas nevermind, but has never even heard of this album....which better then never mind
@jwizzy18 Actually this was '96, at this point people were mostly into AiC and Pearl Jam, there was a period when people didn't want to touch Nirvana stuff 'cause of Cobain's suicide.
@Ladiestreat: i remember when it came out i didn't know quiet what to make of it at first, but after a few palythroughs, it began to grow on my quickly. honestly, for me anyways, i'd have to say that it's my favorite STP album. they're rolling through dallas a little over a month from now, and you can bet your ass i'll be there!
the riff sounds like "Damn that River" by Alice in Chains

@Parralyzed tiny is generic and core isn't? core has all the lyrical excellence of traditional pop music and has almost no variety.
at least tiny tried to break away from "metal-metal-filler-metal-filler-metal-metal-metal"
yes, core's songs are mostly too edgy and long for the radio, but that doesn't mean they have any substance or decency.

Dean's tone in this album is amazing. Actually he is the best rock guitarist. He is underrated.

The chick on the album cover looks like Carly Foulkes, the chick who does the T-Mobile My Touch 4G commercials.

@Ladiestreat it really is but i don't like how certain songs have this random scratchy sounds like press play or daisy
Daisy sounds like either claps of sand bags or audio skips too
...is it the video Zebramusic2121 post up or the actual recording?
