Its not the art it IS the PERSON who applies the art. A guy with no training can KILL a guy if he has raw talent for fighting. I've seen black belts in different arts get fucking owned by yellow belts in other arts & green beltS knock the fucking SHIT!! out of guys -brown/ black belts in the exact same art. THERE IS NO 'ULTIMATE ART'. But we all have our PREFERENCES. When you say 'its all JUST this or that ' you are saying that you have no deep understanding of it.itsBeen around for a minute

depending on which martial art ur doing, vovinam is an offensive type, tough training ofcourse

Taek is good though, guess it's for both attacking and defending, also cable for street fighting whereas u'r striking people to death by using vovinam cos u don't know how to defend urself XD

Tae kwon do "WAY OF HAND AND FOOT" ALL martial arts are good i like tae kwon do because i train but if someone trained something else he would say his martial art is better.

For TKD practitioner: you have to watch out with the rhythm flows in your body during the combat, and for most time, try to be in offensive sides all time if possible, since TKD style lack defense power, if you have be forced into defensive situation, it's most likely over with you.

Sigh... quit saying TKD or Vovinam is better or not! It depends on how you use it. TKD master in kicks and fly kicks, while Vovinam master leg grapplings and swing attacks. If you practice one of these martial arts, I would give some suggestion if your really in combat.

what's the whole point then, if you vovinam vs TKD, both of them get to know what their ,skills,weaknesses,strengths,n­o point of fighting with the same martial art over and over again. If one person is more skillful and hard train that person may advantage to win the fight. It is just the hardwork,thinking and skill etc.. that you put in the effort.

Binh Dinh Quyen, Vinh Xuan Quyen, Vo Co Truyen, Vovinam are all related to each other, the styles are similar, they are deadly. And...well...aint wanna be a show-offer, but I personally study Vovinam and I know Vovinam have techniques that are very unique to itself. And all vietnamese martial art are cool (cuz i m viet) hahaha!

I'm a Vietnamese and yes vovinam is Vietnamese martial art, but I think that it is based on Binh Dinh, a very deadly traditional martial art (for self-defense of course).

naw TKD stances are actually balanced if your doing it right . It takes a while to learn THE correct way to stand . Also, the kicks ARE effective ... just get some leg muscles and go at it xD

I used to do Kyokushin Karate. Any TKD fighter that entered our tournaments here got hurt pretty bad. TKD has some fancy kicks, but very few have any power. The other problem is that the TKD stances are weak and unblanced, meaning when they attack they are left vulnerable to attacks or knockdowns. Cool video though guys :)

this is not entirely correct. tou are refering to the ones that treat TKD as a sport and not as a martial art...i find it difficult to witness a good kick unless it is performed by someone that is doing TKD. in fact low kicks and simple kicks are deadly effective...and these are the kicks to be used in real life or in tournaments. TKS is not taught as it is supposed to be it is simply politics and marketing....i f you find the correct instructor though

It depends on youreself not on what style you take. But some styles do have a plus on fighting but it depends on YOU! If you don't believe that. Picture a small and very slow person fighting strong and fast fighter... One studys Muay Tai and the other uses TKD. What are the odds of winning? I personaly like TKD because I study it and so does my brother who is a teacher.

Every martial art has good things and saying a certain martial art is ineffective is just shallow and really shows the total lack of knowledge of the art. Every practicioner of any art is different. If you fight against an Olympic taekwondo gold medalist, I'm sure he'll knock you unconscious before you realize it.
