  • Lol the stratocaster moved sides

  • what is a good website for templates?

  • He's using a teleprompter or what?

  • Hi, nice video btw, I have created a concrete guitar, if you have chance please visit my channel, I'm conducting a sound comparison test between my concrete guitar and a solid bodied wooden guitar, and would appreciate as much feedback as possible. Thanks!

  • thank you an excellent and helpful series

  • Did he just...mispronounce his own name? "Hi I'm Frank Popo"

  • Snazzy shirt like.

  • he looks like my uncle

  • @iNishant23 I look more like your uncle then he does

  • has anyone ever told you that you look like bill engval?

  • I have access to a cnc machine, but I've chosen to make my own template instead of just buying one or using a cnc. Buying a template or cncing isn't really making a guitar in my opinion.

  • you know they sell guitars right?

  • I can't believe the numbskulls behind the CNC machines actually call themselves luthiers and get away with it.

  • i think that's card board

  • Popo working for the FBI? I knew they were worthless.

  • Where can I find guitar body templates?

  • wtf that's a prs just buy one noob!!!!

  • u make me a guitar

  • where can i find one that i can print out?

  • this guy talks like butters hehehe

  • Speaking of templates, does anyone know where to find one for a BC Rich Warlock? Ive looked around a bit but couldnt find a good one.

  • @StreetxLights I found a website that had warlock templates as well as the mockingbird! I just can't remember where. searching my 'history' turned up nothing! sorry I wish I could be of more help. It DOES exist, try google.

  • @GuitarWhisperer, thanks.

  • Good, and actual expert because I have a question as somebody wanting to get into guitar building(hope you don't think this is stupid). On an electric guitar, does the material used to make the body have a significant effect on the tone.

I had a friend make one using a cow skull and it sounded good to me(at the time I was a beginner guitarist though).

  • @hellodarkness84 i would like to see a cow scull guitar

  • @bobthedistroyer Well, if I ever successfully make one I will be sure to demonstrate it here on my channel and you'll be the first to know about it xD

  • i dont hae a fuckin clue but youre right - it sucks ass

  • Not just that, but they still haven't clued in on how to use numbers or playlists so that people can watch them in order.

  • seriously....

  • So you can watch just the segment that tells the part of the process you need. It seems that several of the segments for guitar building show options (like the whammy bar), or things that might not be needed by someone who already has their tools, or already has already selected the wood, style of guitar, etc.

  • because those "experts" are douchebags!

  • @WishingBones ahah well spotted mate.

  • Comment removed

  • @WishingBones They do that to get more views, and with it more money... they are a bunch of mercenary assholes

  • @WishingBones it's worse , they dont number the series .. so u will get lost in that 138,714 videos !

  • @WishingBones thats why he has 138714 vids!!!

  • This video is as much use as tits on a fridge.

  • Do the templates usually come with the specifications, like how deep to rout the pickups etc ?

  • i agree with raiderslax22 it made my day... they just told us to buy templates??? wow...waste of my time

  • frank POPE?

  • sounds more like Popov to me

  • His name is Frank Pope, founder of FBI Guitars, has been playing guitar for more than 30 years. He's been building them for more than 10 years, & has constructed more than 30 finished products to date. He currently builds guitars for a small, closed group of artists.

Check their website. it says there that his name is Frank Pope. now all stfu about it

  • Thats a very simple way of doing things, but personally I dont like the standard scales of pre-patterned templates. My flying V has a scale length of 26", which is easy to do if you've read Melvin Hiscox's book

  • You from PG? i recognize that name. But what i want to know, is what the BODY templates have to do with scale? You can always make the neck fit the body with a different scale.

  • Yeah, ive been on PG :)

almost everyone will tell you that fitting the neck to the body is the hard way, lol. Its general practice to have a neck first so you can plan the location of the bridge AFTER you've cut the neck pocket. Pre cut templates assume youre building to a specific scale length and give you a pre measured location for the bridge, which is fine, but as I said, mine has 26" which means the bridge has to be in a completely different place.

    in all in melvin's book!

  • Well, thats what i meant. i just said it backwards. If your using a longer scale, you can still use the same templates, even if the template is for a different scale. You can rout your neck pocket, then just move the template up or down to accomadate for the bridge position. I have done that with over 20 guitars.

  • The name is Melvin HISCOCK, but thanks for the tip. I'm going to order it through my local indie bookstore.

  • thats just telling us to buy a template :S

  • google guitar templates

  • i got that same shirt

  • this looks kool

  • If you go to the template website you can see high res photos of guitars built with them as well as a pic tutorial of carving a top with a router. I have no connection to them other than use of their products.

  • can you tell me the name of the template website?

  • Frank, do you know if there is something with the Template Website? I don't know if you have anything to do with that site, but it is offline, best I can tell.

  • this is neat i want to make one
