This selection by Doris Akers and the Sky Pilot Choir I heard in the 70's or 80's and could never forget it....She was very awesome and talented....If I am not wrong Doris Akers appeared several times on PTL back when Jim and Tammie Faye Bakker were in vogue....Praise the Lord Jehovah for such talent.......Jesus Christ........the same yesterday, today and forever.....!!!!!!!!!!!

Doris directed with great passion and authority. I remember singing in the choir and when Doris wanted the high note she pointed toward the singer and she hit that note every time....and Doris always smiled.

My grandfather used to play this record on his "Hi-FI". He was a Gospel preacher in Baltimore and tried to use some of these songs in church. I would love to see and hear the Volume 2 and would LOVE info on how to possibly get some of these songs in sheet music. Thanks for posting. I listen to them over and over again.

LOL Yea, she wrote soooo many great ones! Yea!! I have heard of the Spirit of Memphis but I never knew they sang this one... I do have the version of this song by the Pilgrim Travelers, though! Thanks for your comment, Tim ;)
