  • what size tank do they need

  • Do they need a tank or can I just let him run around a designated area of my house as long as I make sure to leave him a space to sun himself, drink, and go to the bathroom? Because I'd love to have one but I can't afford a 40-50 gallon tank.

  • @Corerrai lol you have to keep the humidity at like 75 no way you an let em run around all of the time and a 40-50 gallon tank is only big enough for juveniles adults need a 6x4x2.5 at the smallest. 6 tall 4 wide and 3.5 deep because they are arboreal lizards

  • do they bite

  • @jarachiawsome Yes but they have no teeth so it tickles.

  • I have a baby water dragon.. he is not very big yet. I have a problem because every time I hold him he thinks i am a predator. He does not stop running.. like at all. I have been petting him in his cage and he has not been running as much he actually likes it when i pet him.. Its just the holding part.

  • cool water dragon, i'm thinkin of geting one. can you put a baby in a 40 gallon long?

    36Lx18Wx20H

  • are they skittish like green iguanas? how long do they grow? my iguana at the first day was whipping me a lot.. now after about 2-3 weeks he finally calmed down and now he doesnt whip me

  • Water dragons aren't too bad, I tamed mine in 3 days. Now he WANTS to be handled. They just need patience and they'll calm down. They really are social reptiles.

  • they do not die if they drop their tails!

  • they are so pretty but theyre complicated anything water related reptile s hard

  • Comment removed

  • I thought that their tails regenerated and that they only broke off before the stripe line.

  • And r they easy to keep

  • Would I have to keep Chinese water drgons in pairs???? Please help me

  • 2:38 CRICKET!!

  • can they detach there tail for no reasone?

  • can they detach there tail for no reasone

  • its not the worst starter pet. id recomend a little bit more experience though. Anoles are very boring and cant be handle but, Anoles and Chinese Water Dragons do have very similar climates.

  • you have a lot of hand deco :D

  • if i put a piece of my t shirt in there hide will they think of my scent as safety like some tegus do?

  • Lol 2:38 the dragons like 'thats wassup fool!!'

  • how did you get yours so tamed?

  • awesome looking.. but are they hard to keep.. all i have is a crested gecko, and thr super easy. no lights (thr active at night), just room temp and mist once or twice a day

  • a male

  • whats the best thing to clean there cage with i was told to use vinegar water

  • umm my dragon climbed up my arm and jumped off my shoulderand fell could it could be hurt without showing it

  • first off beautiful chinese water dragon and second very informative video

  • i just got two dragon beards i was seeing if my parents would get me a Chinese water dragon

  • i just got one today and its a baby and i have a 2-3 gallon tank is that big enough or get a bigger one ?

  • @thecaity122 get a much bigger one, they grow pretty fast. And they wont have a good time in a small tank.

  • just to say water dragons dont detach there tails they actually cant gekos are the and other lizards do. just sayin

  • r these animals good beginner pets

  • advice? my chinese water dragon isn't eating a lot. i don't know if it's because of the food, if it doesn't like it or if it's bored with it. do you think i should give it more of a variety of foods? its been 2-3 days since it's realy eatin a lot. what do you think i should do?

  • hey nice vids i just subscribed. im wonderin how old/big was mogley when u got him, and how long it took u to tame him ?

  • can u help me i just got my female cwd and she has all she needs but she wont eat and shes very healthy, alert, and active so idk what to i tried feeding her meal worms...nothing crickets...nothing

  • @jbgirl62c I just got mine yesterday and she's still taking time nibbling on her crickets. Don't be too worried, it could be the stress of moving to a new home. If it keeps up after a few more days I would call a veterinarian or the pet store however.

  • Green CWDs do not have the capability of detaching their tails. You should probably research your facts before making a video like this!

  • what a retarded video every nos that

  • Cool rings and such, broseph. Look awesome.

Very nice CWD you got there, too. Pretty chill and seems generally laid back as it sits on your bed.

  • I have a baby... I named him hut and he is the cutest little dude ever!!!!!!!!! he loves to sleep. i luvs him!!! :3

  • how old is he?

  • i am getting a cwd soon should i just handle him to tame it or what???

  • I

    Your water dragon is awesome!!!!

  • wait..u cant even tough the tail?..how hard till it falls..cuz now im scared to handle if i get one

  • I heard these dragons can grow 3 ft. long. So you have to tame them before they grow that long right? My uncle has a BUNCH of reptile pets at his home and he knows a heck of a lot of species so yeah. I'm getting one of these so do you have to tame them before they grow 3 feet?

  • good job

  • good thing you said not to pull them by the thing on there neck or there tell.because would of probably tried it.but seem like you care about your animals good job.

  • Great video! Very informative.

  • yes rubing their neck and back is a good tip....the hands handling is a good tip to and always approach to them with hand next to them slowly

  • I actually just have a question for you. Has your dragon ever had a bump on them anywhere? Our small dragon has a lump under the skin that doesn't seem to bother him at all. He's had it for about 5 days. It's not hard and (maybe) seems to be going away...any advice?

  • What does it mean when your cwd gets darker. He just out of nowhere got darker. What does that mean?

  • they look like iguanas almost

  • the reason they stop running is because like most lizards they dont have enough energy to run for long periods of time hence the reason for him stoping hope this little peice of info was helpfull in some way

  • Does mogley like too be held alot? Because mine does, every second of the day, hes only 13 inches, but i don't hold him alot but i do hold him every day when i do he clings to my arm i try to take him off nicely but he falls asleep on my arm while i watch TV or on the computer. Oh did i mention hes on me right now! Anyway, thanks for the video, i subscribed!

  • @jollyrancher752 Laugh Out Loud!

  • Can the CWD Regenarate like Doctor Who? Lol i hear that certain lizzard can do such a thing and can also regenarate parts of the boddy if dameged/or choped off.

  • hey man nice video and thanks i just got my little guy 2 days ago hes so cool but very jumpy and i cant keep him in my hands for long intill he trys to jump

  • basicly, just when hes in the tank, put your forefinger underneath his head and gently nudge his chest, he should then put his front hands on your finger, then, stroke its chin until its not looking around too much, and then lift him out of the vivariu, its taken me about 4 weeks to get to this stage lol.

  • goooood information

  • what should i do if my water dragon does not eat worms

  • Have you fed them crickets?

  • she does now

  • haha i knew it^^

  • 2:39 is cute when your water dragon gets scared and jumps up

  • ahah yea hes a cute lil guy :D

  • you cant put on more rings dont you?

  • yea i like rings :D

  • people keep telling me that its bad to have a heating rock for CWD

  • It just can't be really warm or it could burn their belly. It'd be better to get a rock and just turn it into a basking area with a heating light to be safer. But I personally don't think heating rocks get as hot as basking rocks do. But its whatever the owner decides is the safest . :3

  • @Roger5970 it is

  • @Roger5970 heat rocks are absolutely horrible for every reptile out there. They can give internal burns.

  • yea there bad although they have fixed them i still dont recomend they , what happend was the heat would get to the set heat butt hen get even hotter and hotter then ur lizard would go on it and get burnt and i heard of some getting fried.

  • are chinese water dragons chill? like once you tame them or they get used to you, can you hold them and pet them like a bearded dragon??

  • Sure can, but I definitely think Beardies are one of the most chill out of all the lizards. Once most lizards are full grown they usually chill out.

  • most deff yea. mine loves being held, they are great pets ones u tame them right down, they are great pets to begin with for holding at leats i find.

  • try hand under hand it works better(:

  • meh same thing lol :P

  • you grab the tail their because the the strip part falls off not the top part with sparky things

  • its not good to handle them like that at all from my point of view :P

  • no i know i would never grab my reptile their anyways it is still bad but im just saying that oart wont fall off

  • ahhhhh :P

  • oh yea and is a 125 gallon tank good for an adult cwd?

  • oh yea most deff! thatll last him great!

  • can they eat blood worms?

  • yeas i believe they can:D

  • thnx i have a 55 but i was just seeing if it was a good size.

  • what size cage is at the most for a juvenile???

  • smallest id go is a 30-40 go a juv, but if i were u i would jus go straight to the biggest size required to save money.

  • if you put it in a bigger cage will it get bigger or if you keep it in a little cage will it still get bigger

  • no if u keep it in a smaller cage it's growth will get stunted and it can get very sick,

  • do they like to b handdeld

  • i know mine sure as hell does lol. he will climb right up my arm lol

  • wat age does a cwd have to be to eat a pinky ???

  • i my self waited for 9 months, but it all deponds on the size of ur water dragon more than its age,

  • i know them people shouldny even own ANY pets. and thankd for thinkin im a good owner D

  • i have a bag of crickets it has around 30 of them do i feed them all to my chinese water dragon

  • well it deponds on how much he can eat, you gota find out how much he can eat first , its what alot of people do, jus throw in a bunch and see how many he can eat, they know when to stop eating they wont eat till they are sick, they will only eat till they are full.

  • thnxs

  • can they live with terrapins

  • umm i believe so i dont think they are one of the real agressive turtles .. so yea i think they can.

  • thanks btw your chinese water dragon is really nice

  • thnxs man you helped me alot

  • glad i could help :D

  • i have a 6 month old water dragon when can he start swimming and where should he swim?

  • oh u can let him swim now :D:D

and he can swim anywhere , except a pool and stuff they cant swim in pools due to the chemicals. but dont start them in deep water, keep it jus at his chest lvl.

  • wtf ppl do that 2 their dragons they aint dogs

  • ahahaa im comfused with the dog thing he said :P

  • my dog drops his tail

  • what? lol u mean he lost his tail howd he do that?

  • sorry bro but i have to ask ,

    are you canadian?

  • yea man im canadian lol. i live in the all shittackular country canada.

  • I got my Chinese water dragon he's so hand tame

  • sweet deal , its really nice having them when they are tame like that :D

  • I have an 11 month old Bearded Dragon and my friend has a water dragon and said i should feed my beardie goldfish. Does anyone kno if its ok for him to eat goldfish??

  • i my self wouldnt feed him gold fish.

  • yeah the bearded dragons natural habitat doesnt have gold fish or fish the chinese water dragon does

  • yea i know , or are you taling to someone els.?

  • man i try to hold him like that but he runs off but trys to jump of my hand

  • yea that happens you just gota keep working with him, i worked with mine for a long time and hes awsome now :D

  • you're quite the expert huh

  • ahhh to an extent . lol

  • :D

and thank you, yea hes a looker lol. gota find him a lady he can bust some moves on ahahaha.

  • :( aww sorry that it happend. RIP Dino

  • how do you tell the difference between a boy and girl cwd? and how long do they normally live?

  • The males have larger crests (The spiky things on their heads) and I think the males have pre anal pores between the tails and the bellys. < Not sure prove me wrong anybody?

  • nope your pretty much right. i got a sexing video for water dragons if u wana check it out , jus go to my channel look through my vids and u will see it :D

  • here ill send you a link through a msg to my sexing a water dragon video. it tells everything .

and they can live from 10-20 years not to often they reach 20 least not for captive ones.

  • oh ok. well as far as i know my dragon has only shed his tail. and his skin is not really really brown its just a sorta light brown. and it is only about a year old. so it could be from sheding

  • ahhhhhh ok.

  • lol chinese water dragons cant detach there tails i have 1 and i know all aobut them

  • oh and one more thing the bone in between the tail and body do can you feel them in females

  • no i dont believe so.

  • hey. wow you seem to know alot bout water dragons i got one and i love it but im still waiting to find out if it is a male or female. it is about 5 months to 1 year old ond it is just now starting to grow spiks and one thing i notticed is its back is more brown then green is this a prob? or does it have somthing to do with its sex? what do you think

  • ummm well.... one thing is , if they dont shed alot their skin can start to seem to fade i have notice that, like mine doesnt shed as much and when he does he goes from a darker green to BRIGHT BRIGHT green. but sometimes if they stay dark colourd for a while it oculd mean that they are very stressed, or sick, somewhere along those lins.

  • haha i got one about a month ago. mines still a baby so shes quite fast and hard to catch, i just let her run until shes tired out .

Yours is huge compared to little Noodles :)

they're gorgeous though and so funny when they jump around.

My friends don't believe that they can climb up walls. :|

    xx

  • ahaha yea i cant believe how big hes gotten :( i miss it when he was just a little gaffer lol. when his entire body could fit in my hand lol. and yea they can be pretty entergetic . lol

but they can climb walls yes but not all like they cant climb the walls in your house , unless they are like stuckoed or something lol.

  • r they as easy to handle when juvenilles or do they tend to be more jumpy?

  • umm yea they can tend to be lot more jumpy , but u may find sometimes they just tier right now and just plop down on yuor hands lol. but the way i show in this video works great for juv's as well :D

  • sweet! man so you can only fget them in china?

  • oh nonono, lol you can get them from any where, well atleast buy them from any where but they are cought and inported from Southeast Asian mainland and ummm.. Indo-Australian forget what the place is called there. but alot of the inports come from Thailand and southern china. so they can come from a few places :D

  • how big do these guys grow to be?

  • males 3-4 feet females 2-3 feet.

  • Are you similar with the bearded dragon? I got that instead of a chinese water dragon.

  • Yeap i actualy knwo a real lot on bearded dragons :D

  • I got a baby one and sometimes it would escape from my hands and i'd grab it's tail so it couldn't get away because I was afraid of squeesing it but now i'll just have to be careful because I don't want it to die. :S

  • ahah yea nott he best way to keep him from running :P but i mean in the video as u may have seen in the letters. i made a bit of a "fact" mistake they dont always die when they detatch their tails. only some times. but it still aint good to grab it. becuase it hurts them and there is the possibility of them dieing like i said.

  • how can u make ur lizard stay on ur shoulder w/o runnin away?????

  • Just by simply holding him often letting him become nice and confie with you. so when u go near him r pick him up he wont run. it takes time lol.

  • yo lliizzaarrddss have you ever thought about getting a garter snake? they really cool pets as well. i know, i have one
