@PersianPimp31 *The Glorious Qur'an :D! Reading it would truly enlighten you, my scared friend. Do not fear the truth - do not fear taking an honest look at yourself - you can do it :).
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, "Isn't the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?" The women said, "Yes." He said, "This is because of the deficiency of a woman's mind." - Sahih Bukhari Hadith, Vol. 3, Book 48, No. 826
"Narrated Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death)." - Sahih Bukhari Hadith, Vol. 7, Book 62, No. 64
@FeignofCordor I encourage and urge you to look into the historical teachings of Islam found in the Quranic texts, as well as the practices of my beloved Prophet Mohammed (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him).
I already have looked into your quran,Hadiths and tafsirs and what I have read gives me the authority to criticize islam perhaps you could try reading them.
@DJBrincessa In Christianity both Husband and Wife are to Honour and Obey each other. However your ignoring the fact that in your quran and hadith`s women`s testimonies are half that of a man and not just then at the time of mohammed but also now in muslim countries.and even UK sharia courts. Did you know that mohammed said you are a curse to wise men and that you lack common sense.
@FeignofCordor In Islam, men and women are equal in the sight of God. What sets us apart is not our gender, race or social status, but our character and our actions. Women are honored in Islam and given rights that the women of the west have been given only recently.
What you said in your comment is a virtual cloned answer we non muslims always get. For one thing muslim women are not equal to men their testimony is only worth half that of a man. this is not just of the time of mohammed but also now in muslim countries and even sharia courts in the UK. So by that fact alone women are not seen as equals.and to say they are is to disagree with allah of the quran.
@FeignofCordor The only laws a Muslim woman is under is God's, and this goes for the Muslim man as well. There are rules both man and woman must abide by in Islam, but these rules and laws are based solely on equity. There is no room for injustice in Islam, in any case. The purpose of the poem above is to deconstruct the stereotypes suggesting Muslim women are oppressed, and to give a different perspective on the matter. I advise you to do some thorough research before jumping to conclusions.
@FeignofCordor - Lol I'm a Muslim woman & last time I checked, I could do whatever the hell I want & NO Muslim man can say shit to me. I'm free, baby! "...I'm strong & I'm free!" ;)
I`m glad that you think you are free but then what if you met me and over time fell in love with me and so we decided to marry but I wouldn`t convert to islam? what then? Would you marry me regardless or the moment you male members of your family refuse the marriage would you decide against marrying your love.?
@FeignofCordor - The male members in my family don't have any say in my life. Whatever I say goes + I only have 3 muslim male members in my family. The rest are non-Muslim. I've fallen for a non-Muslim before, but never took it far enough to marry him only because it would cause problems between US & the marriage wouldn't be valid on my part. That doesn't really matter though. That has nothing to do with me being free, honey.
I`m glad for you but I`m really talking about muslim women from muslim families and those are the majority. If a woman from that background fell in love with a Christian man and they both wanted to marry but he wanted to remain Christian then the males in this family would refuse to let her marry him. Even though a muslim man may marry a non muslim woman without any problems
@FeignofCordor - I am from a Muslim family. And that's not always true. It seems like you've been in that situation in the past & now you're hurting so you're grouping all Muslim women as being prisoners.
I have never fell in love with a muslim woman, I was just making a point. Be assured that your freedom is not usual for muslim women. Tell me how many muslim women have you heard of that married a Christian man and he didn`t have to convert?
@FeignofCordor - Not really. There are plenty of women who are more "freer" than me? Although I don't feel 'imprisoned' or restrained & I'm sure a lot of other women don't feel restrained either. Off the top of my head, I can say I know about 7 Muslim women who've gotten married to non-Muslim men & both stayed in their religion. Of course, there were arguments & such, but at the end of the day, the issue is between them & their Lord. - Do you realize how ignorant you seem? Lol give up, hun!
