@fulltimeweirdos I don't know about the rest of his materials and supplies, but that cordless drill he's using looks like the 18V cordless I bought from HF...
@millermk1 i go from dry sanding 220, then wet sand 320 to 400 to 600 to 800 to 1500 to 2000 and then polish and i get a good mirror butttt if i put it on a angle i can see fine sand paper marks...wtf.... so im ordering 2500k and 3000k cus you cant get it at autozone ect
the mirror finish will fade with time like any other metal it will oxidize eventually, re-polish it periodicaly with a rag and Solvol-AutoSol paste (in a tube) from Germany
It depends on your climate. I live out in the country and I rarely need to do any maintenance on my polished aluminium parts, maybe polish it with Mothers once a year. But a friend who lives on the coast near sea air has to polish his almost weekly or so.
You normally need to go down to 400 grit before polishing. Some people prefer to take it down to 800 grit so that there is no possibility of lines showing.
i take it all the way to 2000(real freakin shiny by now), then it hits the wheel, then mothers, then "trucker polish" then a good rubbing with a cotton cloth, then wax to seal it (mirror lasts for a LONG time) then a good rubbing with cotton again
All of the materials can be brought from moleroda.com
I totally agree the drill is a bit of an old one. we do also sell drills but we mainly specialise in metal polishing tools.

We have a product called chrome polish or simichrome that does the same thing.
We also offer spray cans like the Antox 800S for stainless steel which gives far better corrosion protection.

Solvol is for non mirror finishes, Mothers is better for keeping a mirror finish.
