Thanks a lot for posting this invaluable hit. What a feeling it is to listen to the original. This is such a simple yet a powerful song where all of us should listen to it today and embrace its meaning. I think through this song, Sunil Shantha expressed musically, the message greats like Kumarathunga Munidasa and Anagarika Dharmapala tried to give us. He made us love our country. Battled against Indian cultural invasion. Few appreciated it & perhaps he never got his due place in the country.

Dear Janaka,

The patriotic songs came with the oppression of West and Indian imperialism latched on Lanka.

People like Munidasa Cumaratunga, Senarath Paranawithana and lately Arisen Ahubudu and Sunil Santha did show how invaluable thy country. I guess that passion remains among a few of us so that country can march forward despite many struggles against treachery.

Such a great song even though the sound quality is a bit low. Still it doesnt matter at all to listen to the original song after such a long time.. It is so rare to listen to such songs.. .

It gives great pride for the Sinhalese to be called Helayani..
