Total waste of time.

Up until the point the guy mentioned alternative medicine and healing by mental energy, he actually made somewhat sense. Meaning that he has read the basic physics and biology books and understand science as far as he wanted. What a load of BS. Doctors ARE using Energy (X-rays) to cure diseases (cancer) . If your alternative energy mumble-jumble could really heal every ailment known to man, then why don't you prove it in clinical double-blind trials.

Will I get wings if I wish hard enough(that would also be mind effecting cellular growth)? - NO

Will I get poorer by believing in this BS? YES, in so many ways.

PS. TIME magazine is no scientific journal and that article didn't claim that you could heal yourself by thought alone.

@marut6bine don't knock it until you try it!! whats holding you back is your limiting beliefs. Not everything has to have irrefutable concrete scientific evidence to be true. And this is coming from someone who used to be a major sceptic. I still am, but my mind is slightly more open now. You can heal with mental energy alone, i have done it myself on more then one occasion.

@cronicjointpain You are ill, let's say 100 times in the span of 10 years, every time you wish to be healthy using the "mind healing" technique, cristals, homeopathy or some other nonsense that's out there. Out of the 100 times in 3 occasions you miraculously get immediately better. Now you claim that "IT WORKS" and start to praise God/cristals/what-not, but actually the healing was done by your own immune system. Scientific evidence doesn't have to be irrefutable - actually it can't be.

@cronicjointpain One of the most important properties of science is that it can be tested and questioned by other people. And, if it doesn't fit new experiments or evidence then the old theories can be modified or changed completely. Now pseudo-science/new-age s#%t/and even religion are all the opposite to science - they claim that something is true but provide now evidence - no logical conclusions or proof whatsoever. You just "Have to have faith". If someone dears to claim something opposite

@cronicjointpain ...then They are ridiculed, shouted at and even attacked (a.k.a. Who are you to question that the earth is not the center of the universe). I repeat - THEY not the claims they made are under scrutiny.

So if "Dr." Lipton was telling the truth and faith healing would be true, we would all be using it by now - as it is, it has not been shown to work and until it has, we should use real medical practice. PS. Personal testimonials are NOT evidence, but sign of quackery!!!

Bruce Lipton is a great contributor to our true understanding of the dynamics of the interaction of our biology with ideology. Ideology arises in a limited mode of socio-economic context to distort the social process in the interest of the ruling elite/class. Ideology cannot be eliminated by mere criticism but changing the material reality that requires ideology.
