Couple of things; the music you have on while you talk drowns you out and gets boringly repetitive in some parts. It's a bit much to hear that theme for almost seven minutes. Also, you mispelled "Subscribe" at the end.
The review itself however, was informative. Very decent, man.
The music is a mix of subjective thoughts on music, and my access to unlicensed music. In other videos people have mentioned that they love the music, or say I have a pretty good taste. So that might just be a personal thing with you. And if I changed the song every two or three minutes I'd run out pretty quickly.
Also its supposed to be background music, so you shouldn't really notice it.
And I tend to misspell things, but I'd have to remove this video and upload a new one to fix it. So I'll just assume people can figure out what I meant :/
I'm not saying the music sucks, I am saying that perhaps you could let the game's own music intertwine in there more often (assuming it has it, of course) your theme did distract from some of what you were saying, but that's my impression, of course.
I thought it was a comprehensive review, though. Actually might think of playing it after seeing it, although it looks like it isn't anything terribly new under the sun, am I right assuming this?
I suppose it doesn't do very many totally new things. So if that's a major detractor for you you could probably skip it if you're low on cash. I think it just does what it does so perfectly its a lot of fun. But again, its an action game. So if you don't like other action games all that much this one won't really change your mind.
Also getting the game's music isn't easy to obtain, its also copyrighted so I run the risk of having the entire video taken down.
Isn't there a fair use law that protects your right to use it in a review?
Actually, I was rather on the fence about trying it. Sounds like it's worth checking out if only to be constantly comparing it to Devil May Cry, heh heh.
No idea, don't want to risk it. My older videos used licensed music, but they all suck so I don't care if they're removed.
my podcast co-host said it reminded him a lot of DMC in a good way. I don't think it counts as a rip off since the game director was also the creator of DMC.
Right, but it shows that there are incredibly similar aspects in both games. I wouldn't be surprised if they advertised it as "If you liked DMC... you're gonna LOVE..."
There really is a fair use clause, man. If reviewers couldn't use game music in their reviews, they would certainly not be able to use game FOOTAGE in there, either. See what I mean?
I suppose but there's also the fact of getting the game music in the first place. Which unless a soundtrack comes with the game (which it never does) that's hard to do. And plus the music is made by my personal friend so I don't mind showing his music to other people.
And now we've raped the comments of this video. If you enjoyed it check out some other ones. I'd say anything not in HD isn't worth watching since that's when my style changed. So feel free to comment on those.
It definitely is "if you like DMC, you'll like Bayonetta".
Personally I say it's DMC3 meets Super Mario Galaxy. I usually don't pay full price for new games anymore but for Bayonetta I'm glad I did. It's awesome.
@tapoutking00 her clothes are made of her hair, and when she is using the dragon made of hair, she needs to use all the hair she has. Thats why shes slightly naked.
Despite showing poor sarcasm from time to time, I actually enjoyed this review.
Also, it's quite sad that the game features a control option where you can play with one hand. I might consider picking this up...after trying to get other titles such as Modern Warfare 2, and Darksiders.
I also hear Darksiders is more "Dark-Zelda" than an action game, but still good nonetheless. I had to pick between Darksiders and Bayonetta but it seems like no matter which one you choose it's still a good purchase.
just go fucking read the story on wikipedia, never before have i paid attention to a games plot that goes beyond go talk to/kill that guy, or go get that

does the game REALLY offer an option to play with one hand? that has to be a joke
iansquared3 2 years ago
I believe its inclusion was supposed to be a "ha ha" addition not so much a meaningful addition to the game.
But yeah, its called "automatic" you press the left trigger or bumper and she just does amazing combos automatically.

Well I mean the in game playthrough music. I'd let the original sounds in game shine through more often.
Sometimes it's also ok to just have your voice in there, it makes the review easier to follow.
Well, I might just have to see s'more now.
