i was wondering if your selling an album of all these acoustic versions, i would love to buy them, i find im fonder of the acoustic versions in general. i'll admit that the studio versions with all those other instruments are great, but the acoustic versions hold a beautiful personal touch that i would truly enjoy on my computer and mp3. please send me a message :)
I miss this song so much! I loved it at a concert at Massey Hall from ages ago. Always wished I saw it on an album with that style. Thanks for the awesome tune!
This version will be familiar to fans from way back....Toronto concert played live to air on the old CFNY....Awesome nostalgic Ladies!! Thx ED!! Keep rockin...the old Scarborough gang is thinking about you!!
Back around 1998 there was a website that had a 1992? recording of a Toronto concert. They played this song before it was released, Ed added an extra verse on the end that ended it happily. On that site you could play just the song or the whole concert for free, I think it was at Massey Hall. It had banter that was really funny, like a recurring "lame joke" sketch.
The additional lyrics and faster tempo are the original format of the song when bnl performed it on the Mr. Rockin' tour in 92-93. Find any bootleg from that period to hear it...it's phenominal and I always preferred it to the BOAPS version
Its an added verse. The original is on 'Born On A Pirate Ship'. The extra line is one of the many reasons why I think BNL is a great band. So few artist let their music grow.
You guys HAVE to make the bathroom sessions an album. These are all sooooo damn good.

what does he say at 3:37 - 3:44 ?
Dragon563 2 years ago
@Dragon563 He's referencing a song by Jackson Browne. I'm not sure of the title, though.

@gasmmusic with your help i found out that he said this "Pretty women out walking with gorillas down my street" Thank you
Dragon563 7 months ago
@gasmmusic Joe Jackson's "Is She Really Going Out with Him," not Jackson Browne.

i love this song with the faster tempo, the recorded version is really slow, which is pretty, but this is much better.

Thank you.

This song is really hard to sing. So many meaningful lyrics packed into one song. Especially the last verse.

Wow, just incredible, I can't beleive you took the time to do this man, BNL Rocks, and Ed, thanks for giving this to your fans, it's just awesome.
By the way, to the guy who thinks there was a verse change - you must have a different CD then me.

Yes, I remember hearing the same song, maybe in a different order, but with additional lyrics, on a recording of a live show at Massey Hall.
